I had dropped off my laptop for service as Windows was not loading. There was a problem with one of the disks. Brian kept my laptop for 3 days and came back with the diagnosis that my hard drive was completely gone. I trusted that was the issue and requested a quote for possibly backing up my data. He quoted me with $300 and said he could "maybe" retrieve my data. I went to another IT specialist who would try to work on retrieving my data as I felt the cost of $300 was high. He was able to run diagnostics and get Windows up and running. None of his diagnostics came back with the hard drive having problems or not working; just some disk errors which were fixed. Brian charged me $65 to tell me that my hard drive was shot and to misdiagnose the problem with my laptop. Had I stopped there, I would have paid $300 to get him to "try" and back up my data as well as bought a new laptop. I called back to discuss the charge and try to understand how another IT professional was able to get my laptop running and tell me that though my hard drive was old, there was no actual problem with it. Brian completely talked down and over me and wouldnt adjust any of the charge. So I paid $65 to get a misdiagnosis on my laptop. Thankfully, I had gone somewhere else and didnt spend way more money on something I didnt need to. Had he provided better customer service in adjusting the charge as opposed to telling me "well I dont know what diagnostics he ran..." The point is, he told me that my hard drive was completely gone and that I either needed to buy a new one, pay $300 to back up data or get a new laptop, when in the end, someone else got me up and running.

Hello everyone, I just want to say how impressed I was by the service provided by Northborough Computers LLC. I brought my desktop computer into their shop this past Thursday because my cpu was overheating. I suspected there was a problem with my liquid cooling unit. They told me it could be about two business days. Not only did they fix my computer ahead of schedule (by Friday morning), but they also installed Catzilla software on my computer so that I could test it out in the future. I certainly wanted my computer fixed before the weekend and they came through for me. Thank you again, Northborough Computers LLC! I highly recommend them; great service! Kind Regards, Michael

Worst customer service. My computer crashed and I took it to this place to get it fixed. The owner told me that he will diagnose the problem for free but will charge for fixing it. On diagnosis he found that motherboard of the computer is damaged and he offered to backup the data for $65 which I declined . When I went to pick up the computer the owner demanded $65 to return the laptop. When he was reminded of his earlier assurance of free diagnosis, he did not not relent. I paid the money but told that I am an unhappy customer. At this point the owner yelled at me and threatened to call cops. I felt cheated and the owner was totally disrespectful.

Thanking my lucky stars I found Brian and Northboro Computers. I always check google reviews before I select a place and this one had the best. They were all correct! 5 stars is too few for the service they gave. Windows "upgraded" me to Windows 10 when I wasnt looking and I couldnt find any of my files! I tried everything and I had to leave to go to a conference overseas the next day. Brian literally dropped everything and within two hours and with a reasonable fee, he had it all fixed. Even offered advice on how to get more memory in the machine to make it work better. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Your L33t Geek Simon Gregory checked this place out this week while Upgrading his home PC. This place is Helpful, organized, customer oriented and has a great sense of whats going on in the industry today. After having been in many computer shops I also find this one to have a great selection of products even though their business is more based around Repair then sales. The Owner Operator is extremely willing and able to help and will go above and beyond to not only satisfy, but educate his customers. This is Now your L33t Geeks Source for Upgrades and Repairs in the Metro West Area!

Northboro Computers is the real deal. The owner, Brian, has accumulated the knowledge about software and hardware that can only come from being involved with computers for decades, and indeed it turns out he’s worked with computers for 35 years and all around the globe. On top of that, he understands that to really help a customer, he has to go beyond repair and actually educate the customer about how to avoid problems and how to fix some things ourselves. He’s friendly, a straight-shooter, and you can tell he enjoys helping people. While there, say hi to his adorable small dog, Zip.

Great experience here, my power supply broke after a power surge and Brian was very helpful in getting it repaired. Even after finding a strange issue, he was able to work around it and get a PSU from his shop to work. He was very upfront and honest about the work he would be doing and explained each step he would be taking along the way, even helped out with the wiring in my rig for free. Figured I would be without my computer for at least a week, but the repairs were done within a day! Cant recommend this place enough and will be coming here for any future repairs!

I needed to have a gaming computer built. After checking out all the online companies, i went to check out Northboro Computers. And after talking to Brian for ten minutes i knew i wanted him to build it. He actually had it done before i was ready for it. I will tell you it is a beast. I could not be happier. The bench marks are incredible on this thing. I got a fantastic machine, better and a lot cheaper than any of those sites. I will never go any place but to see Brian from now on.

Had a great experience here. Brian was very helpful and informative -- and best of all he fixed my daughters computer after we thought it was totally dead. She had spilled water on her Macbook and it wouldnt power up. Apple was no help at all, and just suggested buying a new one. Brian was able to bring it to life by drying it out and changing a couple of fuses -- all for a very reasonable price. And its as good as new now...Highly recommend this place!

Great guy, Great Service. I Brought Brian my laptop thinking it was beyond repair. Within 24 hours my laptop was up and running like new again. Brian communicated with me during the repair letting me know the problems and the cost to repair my machine. I really liked the personal service and honesty and have already told everyone I know about Northboro Computers. I would strongly recommend stopping in for any of your needs related to computing.

Brian is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I ordered a computer online that came in embarrassing condition, and Brian got me squared away for a very fair price. I had my computer 5 days prior to bringing it to Brian and he had it running in hours. Ill be consulting with Brian for all my upgrades and maintenance.
