Its really too bad that you have to give stars to leave reviews. I stopped in with my mother today to the North Smithfield location. The charging port on her computer was broken, and all we were asking for was a simple quote to have this repaired. We were refused service unless we signed up with some monthly plan. I had to clarify this...this is a one off deal, and something that can easily be happily paid for services rendered, and everyone is happy. But no...you have to sign up for a monthly plan and pay x amount per month (I wasnt the least bit interested in looking into the cost. One off, remember) before they will do any business with you. We needed their help, and were refused business because we werent willing to give them money every month. I left infuriated. They are more interested in taking your money from you than actually earning it. So I went to The Computer Store in Chepachet, where they understand business where you pay for services rendered, without having to pay any silly monthly charges. EDIT - This is nearly the exact same thing as File Tobackups review further down. Apparently their business model has diminished within the past 3 years. EDIT TO OWNERS RESPONSE - You sure are fond of citing Netflix and Planet Fitness business models in reference to your own. Heres why youre full of crap. Netflix and Planet Fitness are places that you pay monthly to use whenever youd like, as often as youd like. Are you really telling me that peoples computers need to come to you 3 times a week, month in and month out? And even then, on top of the monthly fee suckers have to pay for the privilege of doing business with you, you charge on top of your fee...which Netflix does NOT. See the difference? The service that is provided from Netflix and Planet Fitness is a completely different type of service that what you offer. Sure the cloud storage is nice, but its dirt cheap nowadays. I call bullpoop. Dont give me that crap. This is a way to siphon money from people, citing a business model from a totally different type of service as an excuse. I hope that consumers open their eyes and realize what youre doing, and then react accordingly.

Cant even have them fix whats most likely a simple problem (first one in years) without having to sign up for a year commitment of service lol. All sorts of perks for people connected to the internet, Im not one of those people. Regardless of not needing a single thing offered in the membership, I was still left with no option but to find a new place to do business with. This is guy is over here in the reviews comparing the membership to Netflix and planet fitness, you must be joking, those are things people want to use on a daily basis, who gets their computer fixed on a daily basis? Or even monthly basis? Yearly basis? Not even that for me in my lifetime of having computer. I dont need my stuff backed up either, its not that serious. Let me pay whatever it costs to fix this dumb problem and make 75$ off of me in the hour it takes and lets be done with it

I would like to comment on a company I feel is one of the best in the computer service business. Its a professional company with a family atmosphere. From the techs to the equjipment, everthing is first class. You never get sold on the most expensive service and equipment, but are provided a package that suits your individual needs and budget. There home solutions packages are a feature which provide great security and peace of mind at a reasonable price. Service is done right the first time and is usually completed within 24-48 hours. Everyone in the organization I have dealt with on the phone or in person has always made me feel that I was an important customer, not just a number. Two techs in particular, Andrew Howe and Pete Kimatian to me have displayed the utmost in professionalism, courtesy, knowledge, and understanding.

Came in on a Saturday with (what I would later learn) was a bricked HDD. Im posting this on Tuesday, not two business days later, with what feels like a brand new machine. Jason walked me through what had gone awry, what my options were, what the costs would be, etc...and the guys stayed past 6PM on their personal time to talk about my computer. I couldnt get the thing operating past BIOS, so I heard "hard drive failure" and assumed at least a week and at least $300. These guys were significantly under budget on both accounts, financial and chronological. I hope I never have to go to a computer repair shop again, but I know exactly which one Im going to if the need should arise. Their thumb drive sticks are also wicked cheap!

I have been doing business with SNECS for years and have never been disappointed. Their customer service is excellent and their techs are highly trained and certified. You are always welcomed by a very friendly employee, who not only listens when you describe the problems you are experiencing with your devices, but truly cares about getting them fixed and back to you in a timely manner. If you are experiencing problems with your existing IT / Tech company I strongly recommend Southern New England Computer Services. They are not your average company!

Tripping over the charging cord to my Sony Vaio. I yanked the charging receptacle out from the computer. I panicked! ,called around for help and the SNECS said to bring it by and theyll have their tech pro, PJ, take a look at it. I drove there, parked in front, PJ was called out and he sat and examined the computer, checked out its functions and said no serious damage done, all functions are operating. He said Super glue the receptacle back in place and youre good to go.! Excellent service and very professional. Thank you SNECS!!

This used to be a great place to do business with, no longer! First they started gouging customers with their "bench fees" just to look at a machine, now they wont even look at a machine unless you subscribe to a monthly fee. Ridiculous! Better options elsewhere. FOLLOW UP: After posting this critique of the companys business practice, I was sent a very long and nasty message from Paul, one of the owners, complete with personal insults! Very unprofessional!

Peter provided great service and fixed our computer very quickly. Ive used SNECS in the past, but not since they had started the subscription business model. Although this was new to me, I agreed to try it. And because the repair took such a short time, there was no additional fee to fix it. I give this small business credit for figuring out a business model that works to keep them in business! Keep up the good work.

Right down the street and had everything I was looking for. Needed a new video card and a RAM upgrade to play World of Warcraft better and they were there to help. Asked me to bring my computer in and they took care of all the work! Even cleaned the inside out and gave me some good tips on how to keep my PC running fast. Great people and helpful as well. Ill go there for anything I need from now on.
