We had to use Fed Ex FRT for a very important shipment for my company that had a lot riding on this delivery being delivered on time, that also had a very tight delivery schedule along with a separate carrier company waiting to pick this shipment up at Fed Ex terminal to then delivery to site. We could not afford to have anything go wrong with this delivery and nothing did go wrong thanks to the driver Ray for his unbelievable attention to detail and professionalism. When Ray (Ray not sure last name but he did say the #s on the bottom of tracking label would identify him (FID 109346 RDVRT 537C2/97D7/EE4B) came to do the pickup, he noticed the ship to address was not the same that was on the crates and paperwork and addressed this immediately for us to correct before he loaded and left and also had the patients to wait for us to make sure all info was correct and corrected. I just wanted to let Fed Ex know you have a great employee working/driving for Fed Ex (and I am sure there are many more) and because of Ray, we will continue to use Fed Ex for future shipments when ever we are able to. I hope this gets to Ray so he knows how much his hard work and due diligence meant to my company for this delivery and also the great job he did and does daily. To have an employee that goes above and beyond his job description/duties is hard to find these days and Fed Ex has one in Ray. Great Job and it is much appreciated from all involved in this order Fed Ex delivered. Thanks again Ray

Let me first state that I never right reviews, never. However, I think that FedEx is such a joke that I have to make an exception here. Lets first start with the idiocy that is having to sign for deliveries. FedEx feels like coming to a house during the week and looking for a signature is going to happen as though people dont have careers. They attempt this many times but to their surprise, people continue to have to work and can never sign for their packages. Then, they dont try deliveries on the weekend, because no, that would actually make sense (even though that means you have to sit at your house all day on one of the two days you have off to wait for them with them). So we did this rodeo for awhile until it became time for me to take a well deserved vacation. I called FedEx and politely asked them to stop trying to have me sign for a package when Im not there because thats ridiculous. I asked for them to hold it at the South Boston location while I went on vacation so I could return from said vacation and retrieve this important package. I call today because I got out of work early and would you guess it, they said I took too long to retrieve the package and had mailed it back to the sender. I would now have to reach out to them in order to get the package. Now, if youve been reading to this point youll understand that this will be the same thing over and over again. FedEx, youre an absolute embarrassment.

Ordered something with overnight shipping so I could get it in time for my companys holiday gift exchange (that I thought I wasnt going to be able to attend, until the last minute), and had it shipped to the office. Sitting at work that afternoon, I suddenly get an email telling me my shipping status has been updated... go look, and it says "delivery location closed, 1st attempt". The problem is, the office is fully staffed all day and we even have a receptionist sitting in sight of our glass front door... and not even so much as a door tag was left. I walk a mile down to the ship center as soon as Im off the clock, to try and pick it up... and the lady there tells me that its on the truck and the trucks been locked up by the driver for the night so she cant get it. I end up wrapping a small empty box with an I.O.U. for the gift exchange because I have nothing to give -- thanks, FedEx. But thats not all! The next day, they put the icing on the cake: I get another notification, theres been a "delivery exception" -- somehow, they managed to UNLOAD my package from the truck it was allegedly locked in the previous evening, and it didnt get loaded back up before the trucks were dispatched. So I got THREE DAY shipping for the price of OVERNIGHT, and FedEx didnt really want to do anything about it, insisting that if the driver marked "location closed", then he wasnt able to make a delivery and it wasnt their fault.

I had an overnight document delivery that requires direct signature. After I realized that the note at the door bell wasnt going to permit the delivery person from leaving the document behind. I received an delivery exception from Fedex that afternoon. The delivery was extremely time sensitive. I changed the delivery to a local fedex store hoping that it can get dropped off there before days end. After I made the change, Darrell Morrison from Fedex, South Boston, called. He wanted to confirm if I wanted to have it delivered there. I told him that I will do whatever is needed to get that delivery that day since I was going out of town the next morning. He tried to located the driver for me, but wasnt able to at the time. He did, however, called me 2 subsequent times, once to let me know that he is still working on it, and the 2nd call to tell me that he has the delivery in hand. I immediately drove down to the South Boston fedex location to get my delivery that evening. I also wanted to thank him for his customer service, and how much I appreciated his diligence.

Since I cant give a negative star, Im going to go with the lowest star rating I can give. I want to echo the sentiments of the other one-star reviews. I also live in a buzzer-controlled building and suddenly, I find that there have been 2 attempts made...even though I was actually in my apartment for those two days during the delivery time and my intercom didnt ring once. After I had signed the bottom of the 2nd tag and pasted it onto the front door of our building, I only found myself coming home the next day and staring at A 3RD DOOR TAG saying they had done their final attempt. FedEx South Boston is completely useless. You might as well ship via USPS with Signature Confirmation or UPS and have better results. Since I dont have a car, I have to take the T to Andrews or Broadway and walk 30 minutes through a really sketchy part of town. The best part is that the items in my package were most needed in the past 2 days. Thanks FedEx...you really know how to make people happy [said with the utmost sarcasm].

I always hope that amazon ships my packages through UPS/USPS because every time they have been shipped through FedEx something bad has always happened. The first time they "delivered" it and it was no where to be found. Ended up spending money on something I never received and could not get a refund for it. However the second time I had to deal with FedEx was the worst. It was during a snow storm and it seems like the driver literally pulled up near my house and threw the box onto the sidewalk. When i walked home after walking in the snow i saw my package completly drenched and someone had ripped open the box and stolen everything inside of it. When I called fedex they told me they could report a claim with the police-- as if that was going to help-- thankfully amazon was more understanding and sent me a new one through UPS. every other carrier will place it inside the front door which is unlocked to keep people from stealing this driver couldnt even both to leave his truck. VERY unprofessional and lazy.
