I have been a customer of Taylor & Murphy since they started the company over 50 years ago. I knew Al Taylor and Ed Murphy personally even before they formed Taylor Murphy when they worked for another oil company that supplied oil to a business I owned in Waltham. I have not only stayed with them all of these years, but I moved into a new development and urged the owners of the other properties to sign up with them. They, their employees, their entire company consists of reliable gentlemen and women. One of the other reviewers commented on how they stayed with Taylor Murphy even though they received interesting offers from other oil companies - I used to send the offers I received to Ed Murphy before he died, and we often discussed strategies. Their service (including plumbing) is prompt and efficient and their technicians are knowledgeable and personable. I have too many positive experiences to list them all here but having stayed with them for over 50 years and recommended them to many people - including members of our family - should be sufficient endorsement.

Following work they did, the tenant in my property complained of more issues than I began with. When I called their manager for an explanation and to discuss the situation, they claimed there was a bigger problem and that the second floor of my house never had working heat to begin with. I asked the tenants if this was the case, they said there had been working heat. When I tried to discuss this with a manager at Taylor & Murphy, they refused to hear me out, and yelled at me: "We are done doing business with you! No more business with you! Just pay the fee and we are done!" Then he hung up. I have never had a business yell and hang up on me. I called another company and they indicated that Taylor & Murphy had installed the wrong size damper. I am very upset with the way Taylor & Murphy treated me as a customer and their work and service was unprofessional.

Awful company...Lied about warranty work. I had these guys for 1 year as my oil service provider when my water heater leaked. They told me it was covered under warranty and would only charge me labor. I have them do the install, then they call me back and say it isnt under warranty and that they "need to get paid" - yelling at me before I got a word in other than "hello". I remained polite during this entire fraudulent scam, although I did ask a lot of questions. The rep became more agitated and rude with each question. I eventually just paid for the heater that they claimed was under warranty. I did not get a quote in writing - so my fault on that. Sad that you cant trust anyone anymore. In the end I didnt get to choose a heater since they replaced it "under warranty" resulting in another lousy heater installed by a shady company.

Before we got started with Taylor & Murphy, we had seen a LOT of local oil companies marketing materials and found that Taylor & Murphy information spoke to us as new homeowners and they had reasonable prices. What we really like about them is that they took the time to answer all of our questions before we placed our first order, and have a variety of options for their customers. The technician who came out and performed maintenance on our burner was on-time, friendly, and efficient. Also, we appreciate that Taylor & Murphy keeps us up to date on energy efficiency tips as well as providing us with regular statements showing us where our account stands. Great to be using this trustworthy company.

I think Taylor & Murphy are tops. I have had the pleasure of their service for 29 years. Besides simply filling my tank with oil, they have been johnny on the spot for all matters having to do with my heating system, including the plumbing part of it since I heat with hot water. They have been remarkably responsive and prompt when Ive had an emergency. And always always always their work has been top notch. Several companies in the area repeatedly attempt to pull my business away from Taylor & Murphy by offering lower oil prices. But I have ignored these, especially notable in a time when fuel costs have risen so much.

Dealt with 12 HVAC contractors trying to convert my house from oil to gas heat and get cooling done too. Had atrocious experience with all but Taylor & Murphy, hence why I picked them. Mark gets it. He educates you on what are the options, actually spends the time running calculations (most did not even bother) to make sure your equipment is just right, and is the 1st one to tell you what you shouldnt be replacing or wasting money on. Wish I found him 3 months earlier. Would have saved me a lot of new gray hair.

Taylor & Murphy is the only oil company with whom we have renewed a contract after its expiration. In earlier experiences, we just chose the company that offered the lowest price, since there was no other way to decide. However, the T&M technicians stayed the same from year to year, & that makes a huge difference to the quality of service. We are extremely pleased with the professionalism of their work & their work ethics.& their price is good too :)

Terrible company. Their initial price was 40% more than the competitors. When called and complained, they said they would give me 30c discount. They never sent any "adjusted bill". I asked them to cancel the auto-delivery but they said my landlord had to tell them and I cant. Im paying the bill, not the landlord. They just auto-refilled the tank. Each tank ended up being more than $100 extra. Stay away at all costs.

I have been using Taylor & Murphy for oil delivery, heating system maintenance and plumbing for the past few years. I did some research when I moved into the house and chose this company. It turned out that the house has been serviced by Taylor and Murphy since it was built. When there is a problem (which is thankfully infrequent), they are quick to respond and address the problem. Whomever they had taking my phone call recently was very rude. Oil is expensive and I dont make a whole ton of money. They certainly dont need to belittle me and make fun of me for having my card declined! Thats just unnecessary! Yeah they have a competitive price for oil and its not the end of the world. But please, dont let the IT guys answer the phone if the secretary is on vacation!

This is an honest company! They did an effective repair at a reasonable price on our gas furnace. They might have tried to sell us a new furnace but suggested that a repair might do the job. The estimate on a new furnace was far more reasonable than estimates given us by other companies. We have the highest regard for Taylor and Murphy, and will recommend and use them in the future.

Taylor & Murphy have been my oil service provider for a several years, and I have always liked their service. They were also the contractors I chose for a recent air-conditioning job and an oil to gas conversion work at my house. They have a great crew who are also very customer oriented. Mark Taylor gave me a great price and worked with me through the project. These guys are good !
