Today I brought a pre-paid box with postage bought online and the counter clerk threw it down twice on the scale trying to get a heavier reading. The reading was .20 ounces high which tells me that this location is cheating everyone who brings in a package that is on the cusp of being an additional ounce. Mine was barely 14 ounces so it didnt matter, but if my box had been 14.8 ounces they would have cheated me. Someone should file a class action lawsuit. The act of trying like the dickens to ring out more money on the scale is disgusting. Like a butcher putting his thumb on the scale. A Karma Umpire should give these people the thumb and show them the out door to unemployment and the manager in charge of the scale a prison cell. This location is very poor. The Brighton MI location puts it to shame. There, they have at least one or two more counter persons and move quickly. Birmingham is as slow as the days before scanners and self-adhesive stamps. They are very slow and seem secure that they will face zero consequences for moving like they just do not give a hoot. As the line grows and grows and grows you can see they just couldnt care less. Im sure they just hope people will get fed up and leave.

I visited your PO on a Saturday (Dec. 6) around 2:30 pm. There was one clerk ( very efficient considering the circumstances) working as hard as she could to move through the people impatiently waiting. By the time I reached the front of the line there were 12 individuals waiting. I could see people in the back sitting (probably on break) and even though the clerk asked for help twice--no one came out to assist. It was shameful. Earlier in the week I was at the PO and each station had a clerk with only 3 people waiting when I arrived. Why would you have one person waiting on customers on Saturday at probably the busiest time of the year? Ridiculous. The woman who was working was polite, smiled---in spite of facing some very irritated customers. She deserves a raise---and those who would not assist her should be ashamed.

Id give 0 stars if I could. The worst customer service Ive ever experienced. Shipping priority and didnt have enough tape to cover the label (which I paid for online and printed at home). They refused to give me tape and insisted other locations wouldve never given me tape when I told them they were the only location that wouldnt. Not only that, I watched them turn away a mother who was simply sending back a small (maybe 4x2) padded envelope that had a priority return label. Priority mail ANY other post office will tape for you. The manager was the absolute rudest person Ive ever talked to. I dont write reviews, but after watching them turn away and be so rude to a mother with her young child, all because she needed 3 inches of tape...unreal.

there are a few good helpful people there but that ethic is waning. over a number of years i have had to plan on expecting primarily (but NOT always) longer waits than necessary, understaffed counters -v- size of line, non-solution-minded service, us vs them union mentality, and near prickly personalities that act like they have 100% job security without regard to performance or customer satisfaction. compare any other delivery service and you can find the govt agency with a blindfold.

This place is an example of why the post office has little respect.Even though their robo menu tells you that you can speak to someone during business hours--NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE. Whoever is the over all supervisor of this post office should be fired. There is no excuse for this lack of attention to taxpayers. It is impossible to speak to a human being unless you go directly to the office and wait in line. Obviously, this review page means nothing to them.

I dont know why all the negativity towards this post office location. I arrived today at 5:30pm to no line and happy, friendly employee, Darleen, to greet me. She was knowledgeable and helped me with all my questions. She even recommended a cheaper solution to send a package. This isnt the first time receiving this level of service. I highly recommend this location.

Always a line. Always rude employees. I was sending out a package and needed a SMALL piece of tape to cover a missed spot and the employee told me I had to purchase tape. I told her I was not willing to purchase $4 tape when all I needed was an inch worth. So, she told me she couldnt help me. Disgusting. Avoid this location at all costs!!!!!

The gentleman working the front desk is consistently rude and condescending. If you are looking to get or renew a passport, please note that this location doesnt do same-day appointments, you must call ahead and schedule one. Unfortunately, no one at this location ever answers the phone, so doing so is impossible.

If I could give this post office 0 stars I would. Incredibly frustrating to work with. I have called their office multiple times & have yet to have heard the phone get picked up. Every time I need to speak to someone I have to physically go to there. Even then, no one seems to ever have an answer.

Please answer the phone! I have been trying to call for 2 straight days to reach the passport department to schedule an appointment and the phone just rings and rings. Ridiculous. Who is the supervisor/manager for the particular office?

Never had a bad experience at this Post Office. When I needed to get a passport, scheduling an appointment was easy, and when I arrived early for my appointment, they went ahead and took me anyway, and I was out the door in 10 minutes.

Never answers the phone. I sent a Certified Letter and one of their carriers marked it "No Such Number" when I can see the address is correct on the mailbox on Google Earth!

No one answers the phones. Gave me completely incorrect information about passports. Completely incompetent. Go to the Clawson post office. They are wonderful there.

Ive decided they must put their phones on silent and just laugh and laugh and laugh at all the suckers who call every day for a week and get no answer...

If its not long lines its an issue with their internet. Post office needs an overhaul, process training and some people skills. Avoid if possible.

I have been a customer since 2008. They do what they can given their clientele. Mail is a tough business.
