Ive been going to Fantastic Sams for years. This has been my worst experience. I will never return to this place for service again. Although my hair was not cut here the customer service was very poor. The tall foreign amazon woman, not sure of race, was very rude. Both ladies noticed when I entered and did not acknowledge my arrival, so, I ignored it. Next, the tall foreign amazon woman approach the front to cash out a gentleman, afterwards, she didnt greet nor acknowledge what the next process would be for me as I waited. At least she could have noted the other lady would service me shortly, instead she went to the back completely ignoring me. I am of a multicultural decent so immediately I felt discriminated against walking in. The shorter foreign lady finished the boys hair and inquired as to what I wanted done to with my hair. I said Id like the $25 cut and finished. She said it wouldnt be $25 for me because my hair was thick (as to assume I were African American). I told her my hair was thinner than hers, she pulled her out and said noooo! I told her yes it was, then she says, in her foreign accent "Your hair is long, it will be more!" She noticed I was upset with her previous comments. I have never had anyone at fantastic treat me this way. I told her no thanks and I left. I immediately called them back and told them they were racist individuals, that I was not African American and not to make stereotypical comments without checking out the individuals hair. I will not be back. Thank God their true colors were displayed early on...I could just imagine how poorly cut my hair would have looked afterwards . DO NOT GO HERE! Bad service and VERY RACIST OLD FOREIGN LADIES who needs to Go Back To Their Own Country. You Two Clearly Dont Belong Here!

I am deeply upset over the treatment of a family member at the Clawson, MI Fantastic Sams location. My brother has gone to that salon for approximately 14 years. Earlier this week he was there for his usual hair cut, when the stylists (apparently of Russian decent) began cutting down Americans as "fat and lazy". One stylist went on to put her finger in my brothers face, explaining to him that "this country is finished". I understand that the United States is not perfect, and as a country, we have many shortcomings. But didnt these ladies come her from somewhere else to find better opportunities and a better life? People clammor over themselves to get here, sometimes dying in the process. As the wife of an Army vetran I am so offended. We are all entitled to different points of view, but its extremely bad for business to berate and run off customers based on their country of origin. Apparently the Fantastic Sams in Clawson, MI does not need or want American customers or our money. I, for one, will never darken the doors of a Fantastic Sams again.

I got there at 5:50pm after work requesting my hair be lightened. I understand the process behind my request. Rather than sit me down and get to work, the employee decided to lecture me on the process for 5 minutes before finally getting her manager to basically tell me they would not do it. This is the 3rd time a Fantastic Sams has denied me service in 3 days and the 3rd time Ive wasted time and energy on them. Its extremely unprofessional and likely shows just how uncommitted they are and not confident of their work they are. Youre open until 8pm, and it would be wise to service your clients until that time since you are paying people to be there. Also, the advice I was given by your staff was to come by 6pm, which I have done despite my work schedule. Either change your hours or change your crew. Im considering myself as having dodged a bullet three times but because of this blatant unprofessionalism on numerous occasions I will be spreading the word that NO ONE should continue to be patrons of this establishment as much as i

This is the only place I go to get my hair cut. And if, "MAHA", isnt working, I wait until she is back. She cuts my hair exactly how I like it, every month. She is courteous and friendly also. The other stylists are also really nice, but I have never had them cut my hair. Its Maha, or nothing for me!! (smile) Coupons are sometimes available, you have to catch them in the mailings. Everyone likes to wear their hairstyle different nowadays. And every stylist has their own ways for cutiing hair. So not all people will be happy all the time with their final cut. But I dont go anywhere else because I like the way Maha cuts my hair, Im sure you will too! Cya!

Dont waste you time, they just want to get you in and out as fast as they can. I asked for a long bob with long layers and bangs, I got a huge fuzzy mess, she textured the heck out of it. Dont go, its not worth saving a few bucks, I will never go back and would have given them zero stars!

good value... lotsa coupons available for this place. i gotta nice haircut quickly. why waste a fortune at a salon? im a guy. a haircut is a haircut. the stylist was sweet n didnt talk my ear off. i always leave at least $10 tip, so the whole cut costs around $20

Very bad experience! Never ever will go to this salon AGAIN!! Poor service. I asked they to cut very little hair length and they screwed it up. Totally!!! I had such a long hair and they chopped it off really short! I am very upset with their service!
