I gave this salon a chance because my friend really liked her experience there. Unfortunately I had a TERRIBLE experience during each visit I had made. A stylist had mixed up hair bleach to put on my head and left it on even after I was saying how bad it was hurting. My legs were shaking and I was nearly in tears. Later I go home to find that there were scabs and cuts completely covered on my scalp that didn5 go away for nearly two weeks. On my second visit one of my favorite jackets that I had just recieved as a gift the day before was completely destroyed and shredded down the arms. ( assuming someone didnt like the fact that it was a fur jacket). The receptionist had taken my jacket to hang it up for me and was acting really really odd to me the whole time. Never will I go back to that salon and neither will my friend.

I wanted a change from my blonde hair and wanted it now so I called around and this young guy (cant remember his name) did my hair. While he was busy telling me about his celebrity client, a news anchor, he put PERMANENT hair color on the first 3 inches of my blonde hair and let me sit almost an hour. He ignored me that hour - he was too busy talking to the other girl working in the salon. Then he pulled a semi-perm color on the rest of the hair. My color faded (as expected on blonde hair) but I had a black stripe that remained from the perm color he used! They are not experienced and not professional! Go anywhere else! It took a full year of high-lighting and then two years total to get rid of the big black bar until I was able to cut it out.

Love Aqua Salon! I found Aqua after a long search all over metro detroit and I was tired of paying 200$+ for a cut and color. Martha is amazing, she listens to my requests and is an expert I trust to experiment as well. I now get a cut, high/low lights and styling for 60-100$ and am happy every time I leave. Ive had people stop me (strangers and friends) and ask where I get my hair done, and I always tell them Aqua in Royal Oak. The staff and atmosphere are both friendly and nice. Its a high class and stylish salon without being snobbish. I am very happy to be a regular!

4 years ago....I use Lisa at Aqua salon for a mens haircut and color. She does a great job! The place is clean and elegant and the prices are great for downtown Royal Oak. June 2016...after 4 years I have allowed not a single hairdresser cut my hair. I have never been disappointed with the cut or cost. Lisa has become a very experienced stylist who continues to do her best every at each and every visit. They also put up with my schedule. lol

This place was absolutely horrible! My sister and I paid a total of $90 for awful hair. The stylist didnt listen to a word either of us said and instead gave us cuts she thought would look good. Im a red head with chin length hair and she made me look like a basketball. She didnt even cut my sisters hair. And when we asked her to change our hair, she just told us there was already product in our hair so we were stuck. NEVER go to this place.

I havent even CALLED THIS SALON, NOR STEPPED A FOOT IN THEIR DOOR, and I can already sense the GREAT EXPERIENCE ahead! I googled "Best Hair Color Artist, MI 2017", and they showed up on a list of the top ten in Michigan. And once simply going on their website, I feel completely informed of their stylists, as I am about to embark on a new journey, as I will be leaving my current stylist of 18 YEARS! So you can ONLY imagine my Fear!

I went in last week and saw Samantha and I was very impressed with the hair cut and experience that I had @ Aqua. Samantha has a great understanding of mens hairstyles and was very polite, efficient and professional. Overall, I would rate the experience I had @ Aqua and Samantha a solid 11 out of 10. Shes great at what she does! I will definitely be back.

Emmanuela was my stylist yesterday and she gave me exactly what I was looking for, a gorgeous shade of dark chocolate reddish brown color. It turned out beautifully! I was in and out in no time. I also sipped on complimentary tea with honey while I was there. I would definitely recommend this salon and Emmanuela.

Great salon...Lisa fixed my blond highlights that were very poorly done at another salon. She brought the tone to the color I wanted and redid my haircut to make it slightly edgier and modern. I loved my experience at Aqua and am returning soon. Thanks so much, Lisa and staff for great service!!

Martha and Juliea are the best of the best! I rate this salon w 5 stars and encouradge people from the East to the West to take time and visit this comfy , wonderful place w the best and most loyal stat in the whole area! Trust me you will never forget your soothing experience. Kudos my dolls!

I have been coming here for over 2 years. I have fine, curly hair, naturally dark blonde. Bianca gives me foil highlights, shampoo, precision cut, and a blow-out and I am in and out in LESS THAN one hour. She rocks. The salon has a friendly down to earth atmosphere, too.

I have long wavy hair...which at the best of times is difficult to tame. However, stylists at Aqua have made it look fabulous. If you want color, then go to Ashley! Love her!
