Excellent service. I am the daughter of a mechanical engineering technician of 30 years, and I get very frustrated when people try to take me for ignorant by the way they speak to me or by trying to sell me things like blinker fluid, or, as I experienced once at BIG RAYs, a transmission flush, because (cue guy unenthusiastically holding up an oil pan) "these are the metal shavings in your oil pan." Really. Thats not my oil pan, and no they arent. And Im full on blinker fluid "sweetheart" but thanks. (yes, some kid who worked there called me sweetheart and acted annoyed when I seemed to know more about cars than he did...) Im not a car genius, because I personally dont work on them everyday, but Im not completely ignorant either, and I do know my own car for the mostpart. I know my car has a few issues, and I know they arent deadly. I also know I dont have extra money to fix things that arent necessary. Total Automotive keeps this in mind. I have been there several times. They dont assume I know everything, but they are also respectful, personal and polite when they do explain things. They monitor your feedback, body language and responses and actually listen to what you have to say. Total automotive does a thorough job, above and beyond what is required for "just the job," and they do it at a reasonable price. They give you an assessment and printout of what is needed in the future, and let you know what is vital for safety, and what just needs to be watched out for and addressed sometime in the near future, without being pushy or trying to make a sale. They are a company that is made up of individuals that speak for themselves. *I should note that this review was done based on previous ownership. I have not had much need for interaction with the company the past year so I cannot speak for the new changes that may have occurred, but I do hope that they continue to provide the quality service they have previously. I do know the one time I was in there in the past year, while I am all for positive change, a few of the changes sent up small red flags and a slight shift from person and community centered quality to a whiff of a corporate business agenda. I desperately hope this was a fluke transition moment that wont happen again, because Im finally happy with an auto shop, but we shall see.*

Took our vehicle there because the service engine light was on, got an outrageous estimate for the repair stating it needed a fuel injector. I questioned this because our car was known electrical connections to the injectors, I was told it was definitely the injector and that they did an extensive diagnoses and there is no way it was a wire problem. I advised them I didnt feel comfortable with the amount they wanted to charge and definitely did not believe it was an injector, at this point they told me I would have to pay $100 for the diagnoses. When my wife got home from Total Automotive I lifted the hood and wiggled the same wire that went to the so called bad injector and the service engine light went out and the car stopped jerking. TOTAL YOU CAN KEEP MY MONEY AND YOU WILL NEVER SEE ANY OF MY VEHICLES OR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THIS IS ALSO POSTED ON FACEBOOK SO MANY OTHERS IN THE AREA CAN SEE YOUR GREAT WORK. BAD BUSINESS.

Total Automotive is Totally AWESOME!!! Have gone there on and off for over 10yrs. for weird stuff (smoking steering wheel, idle issues etc.) Last summer I went back 3 times to have an ear piercing sound fixed at the brake and muffler place that had installed new brakes for me, it kept coming back!!! Total fixed it --- NO CHARGE !!!! Bought four new tires at another establishment, went back twice because of a bad vibration and pulling. Went to Total, they ran test, all four tires were bad!!! They printed up results of test and I returned to tire place and they then gave me four new upgraded tires. Anyways I now go to Total for EVERYTHING on my vehicle. Was in today to have headlights replaced -- was NO CHARGE!!! I would and do recommend them to anyone for any automotive upkeep or repairs.

Total Automotive knows their stuff. I had a Check Engline Light surface; took it to a Subaru dealer. They told me I needed to replace the catalytic converters, a total of $2400. After reading a bit more online, I thought it might be the O2 censors, so I called up Total Automotive and asked them to do a CEL diagnostic. They were extremely helpful on the phone, explaining to me how they would check the O2 censors. After the diagnostic was completed, they informed me that I actually had a leaky intake manifold gasket which was causing the sensors (my car has 5 of them!) to read crazy and throw the light. They repaired it. Fixed my problem, no more light. They even called to check-in a few days after they fixed the gasket. Really great people who care about what theyre doing.

Nice people at the shop... however the "fix" for my vehicle Total Auto wanted to do was incorrect and would have been a very, very costly mistake on my part. I brought my 2011 Kia SUV with 86k miles in for a clunk noise and shaking. Total Auto was timely with a response on what they thought was wrong- less then 24 hours and Total did supply a loaner for me which was very convenient. Total Auto came back with the suggestion of replacing my transmission and some other things- the price tag was nearly $4000. I had another guy and another shop look at my SUV and both stated the trans was in great shape, it was only the CV and ball joints that needed replacing- a $700 fix to replace in the front of car, both sides. Unfortunately, I will not be going back to Total Automotive.

Ive been taking my cars to Mazur Automotive for several years now and have not regretted it. Joe is friendly, honest and upfront with the repairs and the cost. In fact, there were many times when Ive been pleasantly surprised to find that the repair cost less than the original estimate. What I appreciate most is that Joe isnt just interested in getting the repair done, but making sure the vehicle is safe to drive. What I appreciate most is that his crew does a complete inspection on the car whenever they do a repair and he lets you know what you might be facing down the road (no pun intended) so that you can prepare for it. When I heard that he bought Total Automotive I started telling my friends in Howell to take their cars there.

Decided to copy my review that I posted to Total Automotives own site so that more folks to see...Brought my old truck in to TA last year for repair after some researching local shops. I was tired of a dealerships shenanigans, high cost, and poor dragged-out turnaround. After having such a great experience my first time with Total Automotive, I recently had to bring my car in to have a service message that appeared checked out. Once again not disappointed one bit. Fast diagnosis, a call to completely explain the diagnosis process and issue, and one day turnaround. Truly customer focused, friendly, and the repair didnt break the bank. I would bring my vehicles here again and recommend if you need service of any kind.
