Full disclosure, I have no stake in either co... also I have no car knowledge so Ill be referring to the problems I had by x and y. Since I have owned my z3 I have been hesitant to take it to any place other than BMW of A2 because its my baby and didnt trust any other place. That being said... I have NEVER had a good experience with this dealer! I have never come away from any experience with them thinking they werent fleecing me. Over the past 1.5 yrs I have been experiencing a problem with my bmw, it would bog down and decide not to run and odd times. It was only intermittent and Im not totally dependent on this car, So I put off taking care of the problem, last august i decided to bite the bullet and take it to the dealership (knowing it was going to be expensive). The dealership told me they werent sure what the problem was but they thought it might be something to do with x and replacing x would cost me 2k. I didnt expect it to be that much so I had to put off until the spring. Last month I decide to go ahead and just get the problem fixed, but I still had a nagging feeling. What sense does it make to pay 2k and they dont know it will actually fix the problem. I decided that I would do some research about the other local bmw mechanics in the area. I came across rich at orion... take a look at his web site. He is all about bmw, tons of experience, nice story about how he started out with a truck and went to his customers... Anyway I made an apt. went in and gave Rich a laundry list of things that were wrong with the car (small and big). Rich spent a lot of time talking with me, he was friendly and patient. As it turns out the problem with the car that the dealer said was x costing 2k would actually be y a totally separate problem costing 1600 (btw this included an oil change and all the smaller items). Further there was a miss communication about a problem with my door not shutting properly, when I told Rich the problem wasnt fixed. He said bring it back in, turns out they thought they had misunderstood what I was talking about. They ordered the part and fixed the problem, and didnt charge me for the inconvenience. How often do we get treated poorly by a business and just take it because its to difficult to go somewhere else or dont have the time to put the energy into finding a better place. As consumers we have developed a pretty high tolerance for poor customer service because its the norm, I have had many similar experiences all over. Businesses view customers like buses, another one will come by in a few minutes. So heres the point, go to Orion. I can not imagine having a better experience getting my car fixed. Having my breaks done there in a few months (something about a sensor going off when they need to be replaced... Rich says there will be lights so know ).

The folks at Orion Automotive Services are Honest, Knowledgeable, Honest, Accommodating, Honest, Helpful, Honest, Friendly, and most importantly they Provide excellent service!! They are also concerned about your wallet!! NEED I SAY MORE?....probably NOT....but I will! They are also willing to help you out in a pinch. Last year as we were packing my sons car to leave Univ of Michigan to drive back to Maryland the trunk lock jammed and the trunk would not close, therefore we could not load and pack up the car. I called Orion and although they were fully booked they said to bring the car over and they would look at it as soon as they could. They looked at it immediately, fixed the problem immediately....and DID NOT even charge me!! This year in April my son took the car if for service...the car needed some costly work done on the car...Michael worked with us to find parts that were not original Mercedes parts that were much less expensive. They also were able to replace a broken door handle for minimal amount of money after others told me it would cost quite a bit to fix because they had to take the entire door apart, blah, blah, blah!! Not the case with Orion. The only glitch was that the part was coming in after my son was coming home to MD for a few weeks, but he was leaving the car in Ann Arbor. I asked Orion if my son left the car with them, would they be able to replace the handle while he was away; the only catch was they would need to keep the car there for 3 weeks until my son came back to Ann Arbor to pick it up. Of course they agreed to keep the car, without any storage fee and also started it once in a while so that it would start when my son returned. Michael was very willing to call me to discuss the work the car needed, what the costs were, etc even though my son was the one who brought the car in for service. Michael also informed me of other service the car will need in the near future - ie new tires and brakes. I would gladly recommend Orion Automotive Services to anyone. I especially recommend them to University of Michigan students who are from out of state and are in need of honest, dependable, excellent automotive service while away from home.

I had an alternator installed in Kalamazoo that began overcharging 4 months later, which was still under warranty. To avoid driving back to Kalamazoo the people at Orion Automotive offered to fulfill the warranty here in Ann Arbor. They mentioned it was the first time they have done a part replacement which was under warranty, so it took many calls to the manufacturer to figure out how to handle it, as the original part was replaced by a different shop. They very prompt and kept me updated through the whole process. They did a very thorough inspection of the entire vehicle, and noticed issues that other shops hadnt noticed before. They also didnt push to fix these issues, they simply pointed them out for my knowledge which I highly appreciated. As for the alternator, it was discovered the plug is what was causing it to overcharge, not the alternator itself so it in turn was not under warranty. Because of this I will have to return to the shop in Kalamazoo and have them take care of it. They put everything back together and didnt charge me a dime. They were very friendly throughout this whole process, even though it took up so much of their time. I will definitely be coming back to this shop for any future repairs, and recommending them to all my family and friends. After the bad repair jobs I have had in the past, Im glad I finally found a reputable and honest shop that really knows what they are doing. Highly recommended!

We love ORION Automotive. We cannot say enough great things about this group of hard workers. From the moment they answer the phone, to the moment you drive away with a repaired vehicle, they offer top notch service without the patronizing attitude or the switch and bait drama. They help you prioritize the necessity of the repairs, make helpful suggestions, as well as tell you the truth of when it just might be time to cash your chips in and look to replace. We first discovered them from a message board from other Mercedes owners and with the dealership being idiots, we were at the end of our road. Yet, they were able to help at a FRACTION of the cost and even loaned a vehicle to me so I could continue about my way. They have been our exclusive go-to group with any issue on any of our cars. They like them all. Again, I cannot recommend them enough and suggest to all my friends to first give them a call. No, I am not married to anyone working there. NO, I am not related to anyone working there. No, I have no financial gain in posting this. Except it keeps a great company around. Keep up the great job!
