Under new ownership - ignore ALL of these good reviews. They fired EVERYONE that was once there. I recently had Greg, the new owner or manager, change my truck battery. The mechanics didnt strap the battery down and didnt properly connect the terminals. A week later my truck dies and I lose two hours of work time having to have a tow person - the tow person discovered the problem AND a tool that they left in my engine area which could have severely damaged my truck. When I called Greg at Mr. Muffler and told him, he was rude and refused to admit what I was telling him was true. I drove to Mr. Muffler and showed them the battery that wasnt strapped down and told them I had pictures of everything else, which I did. Now...comes the worst part and why I took the time to warn you all with this. I gave him the $80 invoice I paid to get the thing fixed and explained I lost well over 150.00 of my own time dealing with this. He mumbled and stuttered about how they dont have cash, he will have to write me a check etc. I asked for cash and he said to come back after 2pm for the cash. I came back 1.5 days later as I was busy and he claimed he didnt have the cash and needed me to again come back after 2pm. I asked him where was the cash he claimed he would have for me 1.5 days ago and he said he never got it - then tried to blame me for not showing up at 2. At this point, I told him he was a POS and that I would find 20 people to write horrible online reviews for them and I left the building. As I was backing out I saw him, through the window, go into the cash register and pull out 80.00. Then he caught me as I was leaving the lot and said here, here is 80.00 right out of my pocket, how dare you call me a POS, etc .....right out of his pocket? It came right out of the register...the exact place he claimed moments ago that had no cash. I have owned over 17 cars and trucks in my life and worked with many mechanic shops. I cannot suggest highly enough that you avoid this place. All of these old reviews are from the former owners, the former manager Cassidy who was excellent and the former mechanic Ben who was also friendly. Not only did these guys screw up, horribly, the most basic mechanic project - changing a battery - they then followed that up with horrific customer service, lies and an attempt to refuse to pay the bill - then more lies when, under threat of online reviews, he finally pays it but not without first lying about where the money came from. Absolutely untrustworthy.

We took our Avalanche into Mr. Muffler in Royal Oak to get a oil change and a service inspection, thank goodness we did, after having it checked out March 31st from another business that put tires on our truck, my husband ask them to check tie rods they told us they are fine. So we took a trip to New York and back to Mich. Well when we took our truck to Mr. Muffler the Mechanics Kevin and Keith called us back and showed us how bad our tire was loose, yelp we had a broken tie rod, broke brake line, transmission line leaking and few other major things. So i want to thank the mechanics Kevin, and Keith for finding and fixing our truck. They gave us a free loaner for overnite and the prices was good. We were very pleased with Mr. Muffler very friendly staff and thanks to Greg up front for very kind and friendly service. I will definitely be going back there to let them service my truck. And we also get a $ 50.00 gift card back. Our date of service was April 13, 2017. See you guys in 3 months for another oil change.

WOW, I am so happy! I always thought I needed to go to a specialized auto repair shop because I have a older Mazda Miata convertible and most places arent comfortable working on a foreign car. But I took a chance on Mr. Muffler in Royal Oak on Woodward Rd. after Discount Tire in Lathrup Village recommended them. The mechanic was confident he could fix my car and the service manager assured me that he could get the parts needed within 45 minutes. I felt like I got much more than what I paid for, besides getting my entire muffler replaced I had my A/C checked and restored without additional cost plus I received a $25 discount off my original quote for the job. All the work was completed in just a few hours without delay. I was amazed with the job they did. My car is so quiet plus my A/C works again. Now how sweet is that?! I finally found a trustworthy and competent auto service establishment to take my car without any worry. Thanks to all the guys at Mr. Muffler in Royal Oak, youre the best.

Today I brought in my 2001 Honda because it was starting to rattle. I was afraid pedestrians would start to run away when they heard me clattering toward them like an old Model T. Anyway, it turned out that a heat shield above my exhaust system had come loose because of Michigan potholes, so it was a quick and easy repair. Now my 15-year-old vehicle sounds like its brand-new! This is the second time Ive been to Mr. Muffler (31313 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak), and Ive been very pleased on both occasions. Thanks to district manager Dean, service advisor Greg, and expert mechanic Kevin for taking such good care of my baby. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Went in around the holidays when I noticed my muffler was sagging. They fixed it up quickly and with a friendly attitude. During this visit, I also witnessed the front desk handle a concerned customer on the phone with ease. The District Manager even got involved, and was super patient and understanding with this customer. Its all too often these days that staff and management can be impatient and rude, but thats not the case with these folks. Was super happy with my experience; the quality work will bring me back, but its the demeanor that stands out the most to me.

Brought my Malibu in believing it was due for a muffler replacement as the engine had become suddenly loud over the winter. It turned out that it was a much cheaper gasket repair. Got the car back the next morning and the difference is like night and day. A less reputable shop might have just sold me what I asked for instead of finding the real problem. Mr Muffler of Royal Oak on Woodward has Integrity which can be a rare quality these days. Will Definitely Be a return customer and would recommend to friends and family.

Stood outside the door for 20 minutes and no one opened the garage. Two employees were chatting and saw me throught the glass and kept on chatting with multiple glances in between. Other employee was working on one car and two other spots were empty. The employee who was working on car also turned around couple of times and looked at my car through glass openings on garage door. Finally, i was upset enough to drove away. Only reason to stop by was that it was close to my work. So skepticle about service!
