I took my Dodge Caravan in for a front end alignment. They called to tell me that they would need to replace an outer tie rod end in order to complete the alignment. I gave them the go ahead to do it and they did it correctly. Overall the techs were friendly and seemed to do competent work. When I reviewed the final bill, I was disappointed to see that they marked up the outer tie rod end (Moog part# ES3537) over 50% above retail. My retail price on that part from local auto parts stores was between $42 and $50 and Shelby Tire charged me $79.99 for the part, $6.40 for shop supplies, and $48 to install it. My total cost for one outer tie rod end, a front end alignment and a tire rotate/balance was $221.45. While the service was acceptable, I have to deduct some stars in this rating due their 50% plus markup for parts. Other reputable shops I have done business with have used a markup around 20% above retail. Having said that, I would ask for a more detailed price quote before authorizing work.

The first time I brought my car to Shelby Tire, I had an engine light on and asked them to diagnose the problem. A couple hours later, they had checked it out, investigated the problem by disassembling and reassembling a part of the engine and reset the engine light. Richard explained that I could fix the problem, and it would cost a couple hundred bucks, but that the repair wasnt REALLY necessary, and it wouldnt affect the cars safety or driving. I elected not to repair it. When I asked him how much I owed for the diagnostic work and labor costs, he replied, "We didnt fix anything, so dont worry about it." 10 years later, I still bring my cars exclusively to Shelby Tire when I need an honest opinion, trusted repairs and a fair deal. Ive been a loyal customer for a few years now. I agree that Richard is not just the proprietor of this place but also part of a great team of professionals. They are blatantly honest and it shows. I am comfortable knowing Im getting an honest diagnosis as well as the best car care I can get. They always keep me informed and hand deliver my ride back in all its glory. If I can only get Brian to wash it before he gives it back . . . ;-) Truth is, I only have my vehicle serviced at Shelby Tire. Because I know its really fixed, and fixed right.

"Quality Service" Not only did I get great service, I was also provided with the proper fluids at the right levels, something I have realized that I was not getting at other "drive-through" service stations. All fluids were topped off, and my tires properly inflated (even the spare, which I dont believe was eve check by other locations, including the dealership). To keep your vehicle running over the long term, it is essential that you use the recommended oils at the right level.

Been going to Richard for years. Very "cut and dry" dependable service. He/they will tell you everything you need and nothing you dont. Back in Feb (15) the windshield washer line on my minivan snapped and the door locks no longer work via the key FOB. He said there was nothing he could do for the locks since the FOB needed to be reprogrammed by the dealer, but to my surprise he repaired the washer line for NO CHARGE! That was a great feeling, and I will definitely be back.

I started going there regularly because of the reviews. They told me my Chrysler Minivan was leaking P/S fluid and needed a new rack and it would be $1300.00. I almost paid it but decided on a second opinion. I went to Mr. Muffler and they told me my P/S reservoir was overfilled causing the leak and they fixed it at no charge. This was a few years ago and I have not had a problem since. So either they are really bad mechanics or were trying to rip me off.

Rich has always done great work for me on all four cars that I own. He has done everything from tires and breaks to an engine gasket. His analysis of the problem and estimate have always been correct. The repairs have always been done right the first time. The repair work has been completed when Rich promised it would be so I was never stranded without a car. I will not take my cars anywhere else, only Shelby Tire

Richard and crew are great! The tires they picked for me lasted almost 90,000 miles. The dealer wanted $1,200 to fix a loose heat shield, but ST fixed it for $10! I asked them to redo my brakes and they said "No, theyre fine." What kind of repair shop turns away business like that? An honest one!
