Ive been going to this shop for around 10 years, and Im done. They used to be very helpful and they seemed honest. They would break down what needed to be done and what didnt. Prices were fair. And I felt like they were doing what they could to help me out. Now, every repair is 20% - 30% more expensive than other shops (Midas, Pep Boys). Every repair is a "must fix immediately" because the "car is about to break" (which it never does). During my most recent visit, after asking if there was anything they could do on the price ($1300), they took 70 bucks off....then came back 20 minutes later (while I was considering what to do) with a new estimate at $1400 but said he would give me $90 off that price (putting me back at the original price!) Oh, and the diagnostic was almost $90. Not sure if that is regular price at most places but it used to be $40 here. The guy at the front desk wasnt able to offer up any advice on my situation when I asked. My car is 13 years old (10 of which I have been bringing it here so they have my service record) and they want to do a 1300 repair, and the guy cant even give a personal opinion if I am just throwing my money away at this point. Been annoyed with this play for the last couple years and have been cheating on them with a nearby Midas that has been taking great care of me so far. Thats where Im going from now on. *Update* Owner called me to inquire about my review so I just wanted to add that it was refreshing to see that the owners do take these reviews to heart and are interested in improving their service.

I went in because my battery died and the latch on the hood froze because of -11 degree weather. I was referred to them by AAA to just have my car in the garage to warm up. Was told they would make room to just allow it, but when I got there...they sounded as if they were trying to get me to pay for one of their repair programs. I told them exactly what I needed, but when I got a call from them, they told me I needed a new battery and they did a $80 diagnostic to find out what was wrong with the car (even though I already said what the problem was). I said I didnt want my battery replaced there, they said my only option would be for them to tow it to wherever I got the battery (less than a year old) in order to have them replace it. After I said i didnt want them to tow it nor replace it....they were then rude and acted as if there was nothing I could do but pay them their money (for a diagnostic that told me nothing I didnt already know) so I could move on.

My alternator went out in my truck. I came across this place, because it was close to my job. I gave them a call to get a quote on alternator and I mentioned possibly this was problem. They recommended I bring it in for diagnostic test to be sure. I had it towed there using my own towing service. I got a call after diagnostic test was performed and was told I needed a new alternator and battery. I was given a high price of $635 for both when other places I checked were way cheaper. I declined service and just paid for diagnostic test. When my fiance went to pick up truck, he spoke with them and decided to purchase battery elsewhere. So, they worked out price for alternator only. However, we were both disappointed to find out next day after original battery tested elsewhere that there was nothing wrong with it and it was still good. It makes me think they were trying to get over on us, so I will never have any service done here again.

As a college student with an old car and a tight budget, I definitely recommend Fix n Go Troy as the most reliable and trustworthy service in the area. My family and I have appreciated their quick, hassle-free service and their friendly, polite staff in the past few years. Their prices are very fair given their high quality service, and their close proximity to I-75 and the Sterling/Troy neighborhoods is super convenient. Theyre always willing to explain every part of your repair cost and discuss possibilities for decreasing your bill. I know next to nothing about cars, but their staff has always been willing to draw me pictures or bring me parts to explain exactly what Im paying for.

Fix n Go is a great place to bring your car. Joe is very customer focused. They are upfront about costs and work with you to make only the necessary repairs needed at the best price. I even had my front bumper slightly hanging on my car from a minor accident and they were able to make it look decent for free just as part of the other work they did on my car. They go above and beyond and I have an older vehicle. They are honest, follow-up and treat you with respect. Enough said!

On September 5th, 2012, I took my car in to get an alignment done. The guy had asked a few questions regarding the car. Afterwards, took the car for a drive to see and feel what needed to be fixed. I was expecting the fix to take at least an hour, but was done within around 30 minutes. They were pretty quick to get the job done and the people were really nice. And Id definitely go again.

These guys are always great. They are conveniently near my work so I just drop a car off in the morning for an oil change or whatever else. Weve had different work done by them on a few different cars and theyve always done very good work and seem to be price competitive. Definitely would recommend trying them out to anybody I know, and have done so.

I took my car in to get a front end alignment. My car is really old and has a leak in the rack and pinion. Upon inspecting the car they concluded that it would be dumb to align it because it would just come unaligned later. They didnt charge me anything which I thought was nice. Would take my car in again for that reason alone.
