Although I have never done something like this before please let this be a testament to the incredible service and empathetic environment to the Tuffy Auto Service Center on Washtenaw Avenue. After pushing my car up the 94 west exit ramp onto Michigan Avenue in the pouring rain for over a quarter mile and then tryin to repair the car by myself for several hours at the gas station at the corner, I didnt end up being dropped up from the tow truck from my fiasco until 4a.m. When I awoke the next morning at 8:30 I was frustrated, exhausted and I had to move into my new apartment that day. Hopeless, I grabbed my phone to call a cab to take me to the U-Haul when I noticed there was a voice mail on my phone. It was Steve from Tuffy Auto Service Center, I had totally forgot that I had my car towed there the night before. In his message he was courteous, professional, and assertive to tell me what needed to happen next to get me back on the road. Although I called a cab before I called Steve back at Tuffy, he still offered to have someone pick me up at my home and bring me to Tuffy when they had time, I was impressed by this to say the least. After discussing the best solution for my conflict I gave Steve the go ahead to repair the damage done. I then went on with my day moving into my new apartment. It wasnt even late afternoon before Steve called me back with the news that my car was completely finished. In a matter of hours the guys at Tuffy in Ann Arbor had saved me from being miserable the first night at my new place. Having said this I had created a problem by just having packed my last load to take to my new apartment. Steve waited over 40 minutes past closing just to give me my keys personally and when I showed up he even did it with a smile. Although this is the first and last time I will be making a posting such as this it most definetly will not be the last time I see Steve and his amazing team at Tuffy Auto in Ann Arbor. I hope all the guys get to read this because they need to know how much they did for a customer they just met. Well they know me now and I hope they know how grateful I am. Thanks again to Steve and the crew at Tuffy Auto Service Center on Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor. With Much Appreciation, Josh R.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with an auto shop ever! The mechanics failed to fix my car right, not only the first time, but also a second time. The manager refused to refund my money or offer some kind of discount for the inconvenience. The defective parts they installed in my car caused me to spend 6 hours without my car, and still, my car did not get fixed. I was told to come back the next day so they could try again. My car was in a poorer condition then when I first brought it there. Not to mention, that the mechanics where rude, unreasonable and completely ignored how I felt. The overall service was bad, and I would not recommend Tuffy Auto to my worst enemy. I called the corporate office to complain, and was told that someone would get back to me, but have yet to hear back. Take my warning, and DO NOT GO TO TUFFY for your car problems, you will regret it later.

The exhaust system of my car sounds noisy this morning, and I went to Speedy, 4060 Washtenaw about 2 miles west of Tuffy, for a check. I was told that the exhaust pipe and muffler are completely rusted, and need to be changed. The total cost is $374.54. I went to Tuffy for a second check. They did carefully and told me that only the flex pipe needs to be changed, and they showed me the muffler and other parts of the exhaust pipe are in a good condition. The total cost is $124.12. After the flex pipe was changed, the noise disappeared and car runs very well now. I appreciate Tuffy’s honest.

Horrible! i dont even know how there rating is at a 4.1, I brought my car in for a diagnostic because it was over heating, and they told me it was a blown head gasket. Nothing leaked, no water leaked out my exhaust or smoke came out the exhaust. Then on top of that he said he "THINKS" it was a blown head gasket.So I and to pay $50 for a terrible unsure diagnostic I honestly do not think he looked at my car because I took it somewhere else and it was just my thermostat.

My previous mechanic was booked solid so I decided to try Tuffy on recommendation from a friend. My car was running poorly again, after being "fixed" a few months prior by my last mechanic. The guy at Tuffy explained that he did it all wrong, and told me he could fix it but advised me to take my car back to the last place and make them do it properly. He didnt even charge me for diagnostics. A+++.

Tuffy Ypsilanti (on Washtenaw) is amazing. Weve never had anything but excellent service from them. Their work is quick, they always have the parts on hand, or are able to get them quickly, and their prices are fair. They always show myself and my husband excellent customer service. We will continue to call on Tuffy whenever our car needs repair, or maintenance. Good Job Tuffy Ypsilanti!!

I took my truck and to get a new muffler and tailpipe, they welded the old tailpipe onto the new muffler and charged me for a new one. I never made it home either as soon as I got off of the highway my brake line snapped. I went back up there and they didnt even ask if I was ok. I just received a couple of blank stares. I will be filing in small claims court....

Came in to get brake pads. Sales talked me into two rotors too. When it was done, the brakes not only still grind but now rub even when I dont brake. I returned to asked if this could be fixed, without even looking I was told "that is what brakes do" and they could not fix it.

Just called to see what they could do about my car not starting after being jumped. The person I talked to on the phone sounded like he wanted nothing to do with me and didnt want to help. Then he hung up on me. That was so incredibly rude. I will not be trying there again.

I had a few things I needed done, asked about the prices of all of them. The cashier rudely told me "if you ask me one more question Im charging you an extra $20" I simply walked out right then. Didnt realize price surfing was illegal
