NOT WORTH THE MONEY! I came into the salon with high hopes of getting a nice foil and a hair cut. I walked in to an empty salon, just two girls working there. That right there should have had me running for the door. The girl I got was super nice, but she was very unexperienced. She said she had only been out of cosmo school for about 4 months. When I sat down with her, Kim, the owner, came over and had a "consoltation" with her. In other words, Kim actually was TELLING her how to foil my hair. When I was all done with foils, I was brought to the hair drier to sit. While I was there, the girl who was doing my hair took another salon stylist (while she was working) to the wash station and started washing HER hair! Then after, the salon stylist went and sat at her own station and started straightening her own hair!! WOW! Maybe its just me, but I see that TOTALLY unprofessional. When I was back at my station, my foils were completely destroyed. She had no idea how to tone my hair. My roots were BLEACH blonde with orange hints, and my ends were completely fried. I didnt even have the stylist style my hair; just had her semi-blow dry it so I could hide it in a bun. The last kicker....my total was 145.00! I almost lost it. They should NOT be charging that much for a newbie just out of cosmo school. I dont even get charged that much at my regular hair sylist who has been working on hair for 7+ years. Needless to say, I called the next day and got my money back. Kim was super nice about the whole thing. So that was good. Moral of the story: If you want a terrible dye job for 145.00, go to East of Eden. If you want a terrible dye job for 45.00, go to cost cutters!

When I first visited East of Eden I had been on a road trip for the past 2 weeks and decided to pamper myself at the salon on the recommendation of my husbands cousin. The receptionist and stylists greeted me warmly, and instantly put me at ease. Inna practically had me drooling with the neck and head massage she gave me while washing my hair, and she did a fantastic job of styling my new do. The best part of my visit though, was the great instruction she gave me as she blew dry and flat ironed my hair. She showed me which products she had used on my hair and how to apply them. I loved the intimate, high-end salon feel, even though this salon is in a very nice strip mall. Kim, the owner, is just as sweet as she is petite and she also contributed to making me feel like I was a cherished VIP at East of Eden. A wonderful pampering experience that I hope to repeat again soon!

The first impression was awesome! Very sweet owner, they use excellent product, but ended up leaving with crooked haircut and black roots. I asked for highlights and a haircut from a picture of my previous haircut. Well because I didnt want to pay for "low lights" which was extra they didnt end up using enough highlights to cover up my roots and then told me that its my fault that I didnt want to pay for low lights. Hmmm if you are a hairstylist why would you do something that you know is going to come out ugly? Also the haircut was way shorter than the picture I showed and right side layers were shorter than left side. Needless to say I went to them to find a new place closer to my house but it was a big mistake, I ended up going back to my old place 1 hour away to fix their work.

I was really excited to come here and everyone was very friendly and welcoming, but the experience was terrible. The stylist truly didnt listen to what I wanted. I asked for a long pixie and left with a bob. To make matters worse, she SHAVED my hairline with a razor stating that it was too long and the hair was thick, even though I said I wasnt comfortable with it. The shave is uneven and its goes up about 2inches. I stated that I wanted bangs, she said no and gave me a slight layer in the front. Essentially this stylist spent 1 1/2 hours giving me the haircut that she has. To top off the night, the products (EUFORA) caused several rashes on my scalp. The whole experience left me unhappy and awake late into the night with a lovely burning sensation. NEVER AGAIN.

I just got my hair cut and styled for the first time at East of Eden Salon, and I LOVE it! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a cup of fresh brewed coffee, they hung my my coat for me, and every body in the salon welcomed me by name. Patrick was my stylist and he was very knowledgable and walked me through the whole vision he had for my cut. My hair feels great and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they even do organic hair color! What an awesome salon, I will definitely be going back and referring my friends, family and coworkers. Plus, each hair cut comes with a neck, shoulder and scalp massage. The price was worth it for those treats alone! :-)

I had my haircut last week by Ashley. When I arrived, I was greeted with smiling faces and friendly attitudes. When I told Ashley what I wanted done with my hair, she included suggestions based on the shape of my face, the nature of my hair and how much time I spend on my hair a day. She took off around 5 inches and when I got home that night, my boyfriend LOVED it!!! And when I saw my family that weekend, my mom and sister could not stop raving about it! East of Eden is clean, professional and staffed with knowledgeable stylists. I would recommend this salon to any friend or family member!

Outstanding in every way!!!!! I have very curly hair and have never found anyone that knows how to cut curly hair until I found East of Eden. I was fortunate enough to get an appointment at the last minute with one of the salons master stylists and she did a fantastic job unlike Ive never had before. She has extensive knowledge, an awesome attitude, is extremely professional, and did an exceptional job. Ive found a salon for life! The picture I took that day is now my cover picture on facebook and I have received so many comments including some asking if I am going to be a model!

SMS - Oct 10 2011 East of Eden Salon is wonderful! For the last eight years i have been a client of Kim. In the past going to get my hair foiled and cut has been an anxiety creating experience. The outcome was not always what i was wanted. But now that i come to East of Eden i have total confidence that i will love the outcome. Now i love going to East of Eden because i know i will love my hair and feel pampered and relaxed. As a special gift to my friends i have given gift certificates to East of Eden so they can feel totally pampered too! I highly recommend East of Eden!

I have been going to this salon for over two years, and they have always done an amazing job for me (Caitlin gives an amazing scalp massage). The entire staff is incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond for you. I got married in December and had the salon do all of the wedding hairstyles, and they did an amazing job. They opened an hour early to accommodate our needs, and Inna even came in on her day off to help. I cant rave enough about all of the women who work here, they are great! I would recommend them to anyone.
