I had a roof installed by J Robert Roofing in the summer of 2011. I received estimates from several roofing companies. Bob Seeman (the owner of J Robert Roofing) was the only person I spoke with from any of the companies who actually sounded like a roofer, rather than just a salesman. That put me at ease, because I didnt feel like he was trying to win me over. Instead, he just gave me straight talk on what the job would include, what needed done, and what materials would be used. For example, Bob knew right away that my house didnt have enough vents, and that a few would need to be added to conform to code--other companies either didnt mention this at all or said that they would have to ask someone else with their company if I would need more vents. I did a lot of research on how to select a roofer before selecting J Robert Roofing. All of the various criteria checked out for them--BBB history, been in business for quite a while, local to Minnesota, has had a Minnesota contractors license for a while, etc. Not only that, Bobs estimate was far lower than any of the other companies estimates. During the actual roof installation, the job went very smoothly. Bob was on site both days of the project, and offered to talk to me at any point of I had any questions. Toward the end of the project, Bob let me know that there had unfortunately been a price increase for some of the materials, but the change was less than 5% of the final invoice amount. I also appreciated that he pointed this out to me in person, so that I would know to expect it in the invoice. Even with this very minor change, the final amount for the roof was far below any of the other estimates I had received. Also, after the job was completed, the crew did a fantastic job of clean-up. I walked around after they left and could barely tell that they had ever been there. Its my pleasure to highly recommend J Robert Roofing if you need a new roof.

We received 4 estimates for our new roof, J. Robert Roofing being one of them. I chose the companies I wanted estimates from based on personal and social media recommendations along with researching them myself. When I was researching, I looked at online reviews, reputation, experience and BBB ratings. Of the 4 companies we researched, J. Robert Roofing was at the top. Bob, the owner provided the estimate and went over materials we could choose from and had samples of each, showed us pictures of bad installations from other companies that his company has fixed (and explained why those problems occurred), showed pictures of his crew and told us a little bit about each person, showed his certificates and licenses, gave us a huge list of jobs theyve done so we could call anyone we wanted as a reference and shared his vast knowledge with us. Of the 4 companies, J. Robert Roofing took the most time to meet with us at our house about the project and provided us an estimate before he left, which included all the terms of his contract. Another thing I liked is that Bob has created his own bathroom vent which exhausts the humid air well above the roof (and snow). This was very important to us because our old bathroom vents on the north facing roof were low profile and would become covered by snow, freeze up in the winter and create their own ice dams around them (which resulted in water leaking into one of our bathrooms). His innovative solution was exactly what we were looking for...it was something the other companies didnt have. J. Robert Roofing is a company that cares about its customers, pays attention to details and does things right. Communication was great, install was done on time and in one day as promised and they cleaned up thoroughly. Additionally, Bob the owner is on site the day of the install. I highly recommend them!

I cant speak to Bobs work, but I certainly can speak to his service and integrity. The home we bought a year and a half ago had evidence of a roof leak. We spoke to no fewer than four roofers, and answered calls from a couple of others. All bid the repair, Bobs estimate was in that sweet spot of not too high, and not too low. Better than that, he gave us the invaluable advice to contact the original installers from just four years ago and ask them to stand by their work. Following Bobs advice saved us hundreds of dollars. Bob also arrived for our estimation appointment when he said he would; delivered the proposal when he said he would; identified a problem with the chimney that could also be causing an issue and followed up all of this. Though we ultimately didnt need his service, professionalism, integrity and passion for his work will make him our first call for any future roofing issues.

I was looking to get a roof condition evaluated prior to developing a purchase price of a house. Due to an impending snow storm, I needed it assessed immediately. I found Robert very accommodating; he was willing to come and look at the roof in a short notice and was very professional (all at the right price -- free!). He told me everything that was wrong with the roof, and he also provided photos of each flaw so I could see them too. Finally, he also gave me a price quote estimate for replacement. For future roofing endeavors, I will definitely be contacting Robert again. I greatly appreciated his time and effort. Thanks Robert!

Best roofer in the metro area! Bob is one of the most ethical and honest guys Ive ever worked with. As an insurance agent, Ive seen all kinds of dishonest and manipulative roofers over the years who hurt homeowners, but Bob is different. He really cares - he makes sure he gets the job done right, and he tells you the truth! If you need a new roof, hell tell you. If you dont need a new roof, hell tell you that, too. That kind of integrity is unheard of in the roofing business. I dont hesitate to recommend Bob to all of my clients.

During the bid process, the owner Bob provided a detailed explanation of what they would do and how they go about ensuring quality. He also talked about the deficiencies with our current roof and what he could do to correct those. His bid also included several options for different shingles. The roofing crew was courteous, fast, and clean. Overall, we were completely satisfied with our new roof from J Robert Roofing!

My roof was installed by J Robert Roofing in the summer of 2011. I checked with may other roofing companies. Bob (owner of J Robert Roofing) is a great communicator, trust worthy, on time, clean, a lot of experience and does very high quality work. In addition to those important factors, Bob quote was the best. I would highly recommend those of you looking for a roofer in MN to choose J Robert Roofing over any other competitor. If another storm hits Bob will be the first one I call!

Robert (Bob) is one of the most honest and professional guys Ive ever met. I asked Robert to come on out and take a look at the roof of the new home I purchased. Robert went up, looked it over and told me exactly what work needed to be done on the roof and fascia. He said the roof was in good shape except for a few shingles, but then repaired a few shingles and didnt charge anything for this work. I was shocked! Bob should be the first person you call when you need roofing done.
