AVOID this salon, unless you like dirty salons! I was given a dirty rag full of dirt and hair to wipe my nose with. Here is the full story. I signed me and my sister in law up for the Montage Classic Retreat package to celebrate her beating cancer. The salon/spa was dirty, the spa lunch was terrible and the worst part was getting my shampoo/style. Before getting to the style part, the stylist Ciara washed my hair and when I got to her station, I asked if she had any tissues because I needed to wipe my nose. She said, No, we dont have any tissues (what salon doesnt have tissues???). I said...ummm ok..well maybe I can go to the bathroom. She said, oh, well I have a towel you can use (I assumed a clean one), so I accepted. I wiped my nose and didnt bother to analyze the towel before using it. Then, I was finished with the towel (I actually held it for about 15 minutes) and I was going to fold it neatly and set it on the station. As I start to open the towel, there was a wad of dirt and black hair the size of a CD in the towel that I used to wipe my nose with!!! I was SO appalled...my sister in law was sitting next to me waiting to get her hair done and saw the disgusting dirty hair wad and she immediately ran up to the front desk to find a manager and notify her of the situation. It is two days after this event and I am now sick with a sore throat, nausea, and stuffy nose- I believe it is from the germ infested dirty hair rag that Ciara gave me. To add to the terrible experience, I told the stylist I wanted "bombshell" hair- big sexy wavy curls with some teasing- any stylist should be able to do this look, even I can do it myself. She (Ciara) curled my hair and it was a poofy disaster of tight curls that made my long shiny hair short, curly, and frizzy. She attempted to brush out the curls to try to fix it but it just made my hair poofier and ugly. The manager offered to have it fixed by another stylist- and I reluctantly accepted, I just wanted to leave because I was so fed up and disgusted. All of the stations were dusty, dirty, with hair all over the floor, just plain disgusting. It is not hard to simply wipe down your area and do a quick sweep- would take all of 3-5 minutes to do this before your next client. Even the bathrooms were dingy and dirty. I will NOT be going back to the Spalon Montage in Edina. I have been to the Woodbury and Chanhassen Spalons and they are clean and nice. Dont waste your time in Edina unless you like dirty salons.

I started at Woodbury they ruined my hair, they turned it redish orange. I called the owner at the Edina salon, the salon manager called me back to have me come to the salon in Edina to see a master stylist. That means pay more more money. After 3 hours later he fixed my hair the best he could. 6 weeks later I went back to get a root touch up he was unavailable so they recommended me to another stylist. I told the stylist I was not comfortable because my hair had been ruined and it took the stylist forever to fix it. She said no need to worry. Well needless to say she left black circles through the crown of my hair. I went outside to get a better look. I went back in and the girls at the front dest looked at it and verified the lines. they then had me see the stylist I originally wanted to see. Well again I was at the salon from 11-4 he did another process it could not be fixed. I called to speak to the owner the next day instead of getting a call from him the operations manager called me back rudely and told me that they support the stylist there and they would not do anything. This goes to show that the owner is not committed to the community. He is very unprofessional he does not reach out to his customers if they are unhappy. This salon in Edina is out for the money. They recommend master stylist so you can pay more for them to mess up your hair. I would never recommend this salon or woodbury.

Not worth your time nor money. Staff is unorganized, not friendly, and you can find better services in the Twin Cities. Below is a description of my experience last Saturday which was my first and last time at this place. First, someone changed my schedule around without asking me. This unfortunately separated me from my friends as we celebrated a birthday. We had planned this over 1.5 months ago. a 25% discount was given which is nothing and is a normal discount offered to ALL customers. The coupon sat right in front of me as I paid. Not acceptable and poor customer service and solutions. Secondly. the manager on call was rude. Did not apologize. Third, the massage therapist was horrible - she spoke the entire time and sounded as she was crying during part of it. I was very disappointed in this experience. I needed the massage as I was leaving the country for the next 7 weeks for work and for my wedding. Instead of relieving knots I got more. Fourth, I was told that Spalon was going to switch my blow dry for a quick facial at equal cost to make up for the inconvenience and instead I was charged more. I was disgusted having to pay for the services after all that happened. I recommend you look for another place to enjoy a relaxing day at the spa.

I must admit, some of these reviews kind of scared me off, but Im being treated with a gift certificate, I love massages and today is my birthday, so I decided to give it a go. Im so glad I did. My experience at the front desk, both coming and going, was warm and efficient. Not rushed, with kind smiles. I was shown to the lovely spa, given the tour and I settled in, wrapped in my thick plush robe in front of the fireplace. It is May, but only 55 degrees outside and the fire was just what I needed. My massage therapist was Becker and she was fabulous. She talked with me to understand what I wanted and quietly communicated with me throughout to make sure the pressure and everything was as I wanted. I enjoyed aroma therapy, hot towels and compresses more than several times in my session, cool cucumbers for my eyes, and Beckers skilled work... I was in heaven! After the session relaxing in the plush robe, sipping chilled lemon water in front of the fireplace was a perfect finisher. To Becker and everyone at Spalon Edina - thank you for a lovely, lovely time!!

I requested a master stylist who specializes in balayage when I booked my appointment. I showed her a picture of what I would like done with my hair at the beginning of the appointment. I specifically asked for balayage and ended up with many foils in my hair that I didnt ask for. Not only did my hair turn out nothing like I asked it to, it looked brassy and unnatural. I paid 295 dollars for this so-called balayage and a haircut (not including tip). Not only was my hair a huge disappointment and i voiced my concerns immediately, the stylist used no product in my hair and didnt even style it. For over 300 dollars, I expect a little product and at the very least a straightener ran through my hair. Instead i was rushed out as my stylist had another woman processing whos appointment started in the middle of mine! I felt like I was part of a client mill. The stylist didnt seem at all concerned that my hair looked NOTHING like what I asked for nor did she offer to fix it. I wanted to love spalon but my first experience was a huge turn off.
