Disappointed with hidden fees. What the advertised specials dont tell you is that there are additional fees that are essentially required. 1) Need to buy their lock. Please note that they require different locks purchased for indoors vs. outdoors, so if you have rented their before and kept the lock...not necessarily going to work. 2) Bring your Insurance Binder from your Insurance Company proving that you have insurance coverage for offsite storage. If you cant prove it with the right document, you are forced to buy insurance with their provider before they will allow you to rent. Then be sure to follow their exact procedure for giving notice well in advance to ensure you dont get zapped with the next months rent. As long as you understand what you are paying for, then this is a very nice, clean and safe place to store your treasures.

The facilities are FANTASTIC. Clean, well maintained, easy in and out, good temperatures - just all around great. The staff was super helpful and cheery (thanks Kathy!). And even though I was supposed to give a written notice, they checked me out of my storage unit without so much as a phone call on my end because they noticed that I had taken the lock and swept - this saved me money. Whenever possible, I will only store with MetroSelf again.

The staff is great, especially Veronica! Aside from that, the facility is clean, and the climate control works very well. Unfortunately, maintenance seems to be an afterthought. The main garage door at the back has been broken for months and the corporate ownership seems uninterested in fixing the issue. Its extremely inconvenient. If it werent for the staff, I would have moved already.

We used the Maple Grove facility for three years. We referred two new clients to Metro Self Storage and never received a referral fee. Derrick, the district manager said there was nothing he could do since there were no notes in the system. My response, "Wrong answer." Their customer service and "fee creep" are outrageous. I would NOT refer to them again. I found a new place to rent!!

I loved how my unit was indoors so it was temp. controlled. The staff were great to work with, and the prices were the best compared to other storage facilities. If I ever need a storage unit again, I would definitely go through Metro Self Storage.
