I brought my BMW E90 in a few months ago to be get an appraisal done as I was considering purchasing the car. They gave me a slip back saying there wAs $5,500 worth of repair or replacement that I would have to do in order to get the car in perfect condition. They did say that a lot of it should be covered by warranty but thats another story. The appraisal itself was $200 PLUS tax which is pretty expensive. While looking over the list I saw that they had said the oil pan gasket needed to be replaced and was leaking. Also the brakes were down to nothing so they gave me a quote on parts and labor for the whole deal. The parts for front only brake replacement was listed at around $529. The parts needed were the rotors, pads, and the sensor clip. On top of that cost we have an hour and a half of labor which was quoted to be around $153. I found cheaper labor elsewhere but this place isnt so bad in terms of labor costs. Middle of the road according to my research and I have done a ton! I was able to buy the parts for the brakes myself off of eBay for 1/3rd the cost they were going to charge me and all the parts were not only authentic, they were the same brand that BMW uses in their maintenance area. I had an appraisal done with the car in the same condition at another place and they said they saw no evidence at all that there was a leak in the oil pan gasket. None! Should I have not researched this out I would have paid $1450 in labor alone for replace that piece. Im so thankful that I went and did the homework. I saved myself around 3k and the car is now in perfect state. As a women I have experienced some scandalous scam type behavior form ALL Types of automotive companies. Ladies be sure to look up on the Internet or call around and ask local shops what they would charge you similar work to be done! Its worth it! I would like to say that I dont think Darwin was under that car himself to see that the oil pan was leaking and I dont want to say that he lied, but someone from there did and they overcharge for parts!! Careful and make sure to do your homework before you go to them! Take care!

If you are looking for the best, trustworthy, and extremely knowledge mechanic in the Twin Cities, then you must check out DJ Foreign Auto Care. I have been taking the family cars to DJ Foreign Auto Care for 3 years now. I own 2 BMWs, mine which is 528i and my wife’s BMW X5, my son’s Nissan Maxima and my daughters Honda Accord. Darwin the chief mechanic and owner of this impressive husband and wife car repair shop leads a team of top notch mechanics that provide excellent customer service and do the job right the first time. Let me give you an example of the how dedicated Darwin is to his customers: On one occasion, in the summer of 2012, my son’s car broke down as he was heading down to college on HWY 52 between the Twin Cities and Winona, MN about 40 miles away from home. Desperate as it was after hours, I call Darwin’s cell phone and to my surprise he answered and said “don’t worry, we will take care of this” even though he has already retired for the day and has been eating dinner with his family. Darwin who owns a flatbed truck volunteered to drive to pick up my stranded son and bring his car back to the shop in Minneapolis. On another occasion, my daughter was driving back from college also got stranded when her car broke down with transmission problem about 20 minutes away from the cities as she was driving home for Thanksgiving. It was a cold and rainy evening, again our friend Darwin comes to the rescue. You see it is not just they do an awesome job fixing your car at an extremely competitive rate, but DJ Foreign Auto Care is someone you can depend on to be there for you and your family regardless of the time of day. The people at DJ Foreign Auto Care are competent, genuine, and trust worthy. I took my Subaru to a dealer for 90K service; they told me I needed front-end, exhaust, transmission, and ignition work on top of my 90k service. I was skeptical. I don’t don’t have time to deal with this stuff; however, I don’t like giving my money away either. I decided not to have the dealer perform the repairs. I needed a second opinion and dropped my car off at this little shop on my way home. I’m glad I did. I got a call from Bryan later that afternoon. He said, he wasnt sure that the dealer was wholly honest with me. The front-end problem was enormously exaggerated. The exhaust issues were nonexistent and most upsetting…the dealer had fabricated a scenario to justify the ignition work. Bryan said he’d show me if I had the time to look at it. I did, still skeptical, we inspected my car item by item. I still had transmission issues and a needed a 90k service. I had DJFAC do it. This is where I’m taking all our cars from now on. I trust the diagnostics are accurate and performed by competent people. I trust that I’ll get genuine consult regarding the repair – do I need it, can it wait, what are the consequences. This is a good shop, I recommend it.

I recently went to DJ Foreign auto care because my car was having some issues with the transmission. After a quick inspection they determined the problem and also knew there was an extended warranty from the dealer. I took my car the the dealer and long story short the check engine light needed to be on for the warranty to take effect. Since it wasnt on the dealer gave me some BS repairs that they said would fix the issue. The dealer quoted me about $1300 for all the repairs. Before I did anything a quick call back to DJ Foreign auto care to fill them in they saw right through the BS. They had me bring the car back to re-inspected it to make sure they didnt miss something the dealer claimed. (the dealer said I was low on transmission fluid and had leaking lines and thats why the transmission was having issues. When DJ Foreign auto care looked, the fluid was at normal levels and there were no leaks. A call to the dealer confirmed they didnt put any new fluid in). DJ Foreign auto care helped me avoid unnecessary repairs and took the time to educate me on what was happening with my car so I could make an educated decision on what to do. The entire staff is well trained and truly care about their clients best interests.

Reception was good....but there costs were way too expensive...they claimed that they fixed all leakages in my truck and yet it all was leaking which led to messing my engine....then they recommend me replace my engine with 5000 dollars as the only option...i just had my car fixed at another autoshop for less than 1000 .they told me whoever was fixing leaks didnt put a hose clip to prevent leakage...thats how my engine got screwed up....now my truck drives all perfect without the extra recommendations they gave me... So i strongly recommend that before getting your car here just shop around first...you will save money and unnecessary expenses. Thank you Like i said whatever yall did good i gave a star...and for what i felt was unfair..i gave my opinions. No charges. Especially the last episode that you claimed to have fixed all leakages and charged me alot of money for that and yet my car still leaked alot of coolant...thats what i commented about...and felt that was so unfair anyways. Thank you though...im all good...best of luck
