Finally, an honest mechanic not out to take your $. I had a gasoline smell coming from my vehicle after getting a fuel pump replaced elsewhere. This is the 4th place I had been to to get it checked out. No one seemed to be able to figure out the problem and the one place that did wanted over $600 to fix it. I called Lowry Repair after having them recommended by someone else and they were able to get me in right away the next morning. They were great with explaining what the problem was and what most likely caused it. I got my car back the same day and paid much less than what the other place wanted to do the same repair. I could not be happier with the work that was done and plan to go back with all of my other repairs that come up. These guys are honest and much more affordable than anywhere else Ive been to. If you are not from the NE Mpls area, they are well worth the drive and very easy to find.

John, Jeff and the crew are straight shooters...........they replace what needs to be replaced only. They never try and persuade you to replace perfectly good operating parts, like dealers sometimes do. Ive dealt with other mechanics in the past, and these guys are the best. They have saved me $$$ over the years, and have provided me honest expert recommendations going forward. Not to mention, they allow me to sleep at night knowing that my kids are driving safe operating vehicles. Once again, Im driving home happy. John and Jeff take excellent care of all our family cars. I have over 117,000 miles on my 2002 Saturn and it still runs like new thanks to these guys. Ladies, this is THE place to go. They will explain and show you whats wrong, give you choices of new or used parts if they can, show you the old parts they replace and make recommendations of what to keep an eye on for later. One-stop shopping for all my car needs: oil changes, new tires, new brakes. No more being taken advantage of at T*res Plus, J*ffy Lube, or M*das for me! :)

Out of 19 reviews posted here, 16 were four or five stars. Hey, its tired and Im getting late so my math might be off a little, but Im adding five more stars. I have had nothing but positive experiences with John and Jeff at Lowry. I have always been treated with respect; Im a woman who has been taken advantage of at other shops--one right up the street from Lowry--but I trust John to do only the work needed and do it well, at an honest price. Those people who complained just might need to try a little harder to understand Johns awesome sense of humor!

This was my first time. I have to say, I was well pleased with the service I received! The shop I typically receive service from would not accept the service agreement I purchased when I bought my vehicle so I needed to look elsewhere - this is what lead me to Johns! The employees could not have been more kind. They were very personable, made me coffee and fixed my car. Repairs never seem to be cheap but I feel as though I received great service at a fair price. Although I would go back, I hope I dont have to any time soon!

First let me say that this shop does acceptable work at good prices. That is where the good ends however. They have horrible customer service. The owner, John, acts as if he is doing you a favor by taking your money and does not seem to understand that customers are free to take their business elsewhere. He does work whenever he feels like it (he never calls me - I have to call him to get my car back, he complains about the long distance charges he gets when he calls me.) All in all, a very unprofessional shop.

Took a car into do a quick diagnostic was told $40 for what I needed checked. Was called and told I needed almost $500 worth in work. And when i went back in to pick up my car I was told it was now $65 for the diagnostic and that know one had told me "$40" then when I started my car it was now miss firing like crazy. Hardly could get it back to my place. Ended up replacing just the spark plugs *$35 fix* and is now running smooth as ever. Going to wait for Turbo Tims next time.

John and Jeff have been keeping our vintage 20th century vehicles running strong for several years. They fix what needs fixing; no more, no less. Actually they charge for what needed fixing and may throw in a lagniappe -- like patching a tire that I hadnt noticed. Heading there first thing tomorrow expecting a quick turnaround on an exhaust repair on my 99 S10. They are good mechanics; get to know them and youll get great service.

I was leaving town on Friday June 30th for a long 4th of july weekend and realised i needed my oil changed i called Jeff at 9:30 Friday morning for a oil change and he told me to bring it in and they would see what they could do. i was headed north on my trip at 10:45 thank you Lowry Repair Center as always excellent job.

I had a bad coolant leak. They replaced the water pump and my car is running great many miles later. Good shop, fair prices, I recommend them.
