I was referred here by a friend who knows "Rat" (Rat is one of the owners nicknames whose real name I cannot recall at the moment), but dont think for one second this review will be a biased one. I am a shade tree mechanic with a skill level of 4/5 out of 10 (1 being lowest, 10 being most skilled). I know quite a bit about my car and I should, after all I bought it (a 2003 VW Passat 1.8t) with 50k and now have just shy of 206,000 miles on her! That said, I have been extremely cautious over the years in who I let work on my car to perform a repair I either cannot do myself, and or, choose not to do. I originally went in to have a "ticking time bomb" problem resolved, which was to replace my Coolant flange. The coolant flange hadnt yet failed, but seeing how its a plastic part and the car has over 200k miles, it was only a matter of time it would fail and leave me stranded. I already had the OEM part in hand (I travel out of state a lot and was prepared to replace it myself if worse came to worse) and Mike, a certified VW mechanic & part owner of Express Care, performed the work. This is by no means an easy job, but Mike performed the work flawlessly. Further, I asked Mike about my oil leak, a question I have asked EVERY mechanic since the oil leak was discovered at 65k, not a single highly skilled mechanic has been able to provide an answer that instilled confidence in me that their diagnosis was correct, UNTIL NOW! Mike replied with absolute confidence, "its the cam chain tensioner gasket". Since the oil leak had begun to get noticeably worse over the last 12 months and I was so impressed with his level of skill, I decided to have it fixed, once and for all. In closing, if you want REAL professionals who are capable of performing quality work, all while keeping your best interests in mind and at a fraction of the dealer costs, this is one of the very few places to go in the Mankato/North Mankato area. Regardless if you have a Domestic, European, or Asian car, this is the place where you can trust your vehicle is in good hands.

I had accidentally gone in on a Saturday to try and get my car fixed, not realizing they were closed that day. The mechanic I talked to who was working on extra projects took a quick look at it since he had a minute and told me what was wrong, about how much it would be, etc and that if I came in on a Monday it would be a quick, maybe even a half hour, fix. Cue Monday and I take it in. The experience was a near 180 from before. The front desk agent didnt bother to look at my car and barely listened when I told him what the other mechanic said, yet was somehow able to tell me that it would be a half-day fix, that they only have one mechanic on staff (what?), and that they would have no one to fix it if I waited because that guy was going on vacation. I feel like he was trying to somehow take advantage of me and try to rush my decision in the stupidest way Ive ever seen. If you can, try to deal with an actual mechanic if you come here. If the guy refuses to let you like he did me (claiming that the mechanic isnt in until 9am? Really?), I would suggest you go to Midas instead. Theyre at least up front about screwing you over.

Knowlegded Techs, fast, friendly and accurate. Above excellence: I do not give 5 stars. I can change my own oil but as a new owner of German autos I needed to find qualified and trustworthy care for my precious car. Success, I found them. As an owner of super sport bikes I know the critical importance of accurate work. One misplaced spacer can cost a life when traveling 160+ mph. A Lamborghini tech can fix a Ford but dont let a Ford mechanic touch a Lambo. These guys proved to me they are professionals. Thanks team!! Anngel

I recently went to Express Care to get my Oil changed. They did a fabulous job and only reccomended me services/products that were needed on my vehicle. I did not feel like they were telling me useless suggestions and in fact told me I needed a minor repair which I had noticed needed replacing as well prior to me going into the shop. Normally I change my own oil, but this shops service was top of the line and will be getting more business from myself and I will be reccomending them to others!

Walked in, expecting to just have a few questions answered and maybe get a few issues looked at, but ended up getting an oil change right then and there. So I got the oil changed, thinking, oops I forgot to print off the discount tickets from their website, but I talked to Tony (who is super awesome and super down to earth!), and he gave me a really good discount, just because hes a good and smart person who knows good things happen to good people!

I had a timing belt prematurely give out on my 2004 Audi a4 and Rathana and the guys did an engine rebuild and got me back up to speed just in time for quattro to show mother nature whos boss! Gave me a great value for my money as well - I came in way under budget versus taking my car to a dealership. If your car is foreign or domestic, oil change or engine swap, you cant go wrong hitting up the pros at ExpressCare.

Express Care Auto Center is always speedy and professional. Their rates are similar to other oil change/auto care places in Mankato, but the service is above the rest. I have been taking my car there for routine maintenance for a while and have never had anything but a great experience. Make sure to sign-up for their emails-they send out coupons! I highly recommend this location for car care!

My wife and sister in law are out on a road trip with 5 kids in tow. Our van broke down with transmission problems and leaking fluids. These guys are so amazing. They were extremely busy, and yet they got them in and taken care of with the care I would have given myself. They left with the vehicle working fantastic. I am in another state, I wish mechanics here were like these guys!

Tony is awesome, the customer service is exceptional. They have been able to identify my issues quickly and get me in and out as soon as possible, despite ALWAYS being busy. (Because everyone loves going to Express auto care!) If your reading these reviews exploring your options of where to bring your car, look no further. You wont be disappointed.

Cant say enough good stuff about the work done and staff at Express Care. Only bringing them the toughest of projects on my Japanese and European sports cars. From oil leaks to subframe repair to suspension repair, to valve adjustments. Quality, quick, and much less expensive than the anywhere else.

I was referred here I believe even before the new owners/management, and have been very impressed ever since. I have recently moved up to the cities but still come specifically to this place when I have any vehicle trouble. Everyone here is pretty smart and very good at what they do.
