I have been going to Lifetime for YEARS! I want to start out by saying that their facility is beautiful and well kept and almost everyone there is so friendly! I give that part an excellent! The part I give poor to is the customer service. On more than 1 occasion I have called about things, been sent to voicemail (which is fine) and then NEVER got a return phone call. This has happened to me 3 times (the only times Ive called) within 1 year. Very frustrating. I always have to be the one to call back a couple days later! Another irritation, when they have refer a friend promotions....I referred my friend, she joined and they "ran out of all of the gifts" Sorry, keep checking back!" No...how about you check back with ME?? That would be customer service!!! I did check back and NEVER got anything! Ok, thats fine, no biggie, but I WILL NOT be referring a friend again! Its the principle! Then recently I get a letter in the mail that rates go up, Ok I understand that. Again, no biggie....but the final straw....an email last week saying starting in March my children (ages 9 & 11) will be charged $8 each/month for daycare. Heres the problem...we were originally told we were grandfathered in to not having to pay for our children once they started that new fee for new members. They said if we ever cancel and choose to come back you will have to pay for the children. Ok, GREAT!! SO happy about that! Now they go back on their word and say "that in the past they had been waiving the fee but now across the board everyone will be paying! Ohhh, so you did us a favor by not charging us before, or.... you didnt want us to cancel back then & now you dont care!! So now we are no longer grandfathered in?? Gotcha....your word means NOTHING! POOR business practice. If I had started my membership with this fee for children it would be a whole different ball game and no complaints! Again..its the PRINCIPLE!! It reminds me of when Netflix raised everyones rates almost double and everyone canceled... If Lifetime were smart they would say...hey, all these kids are going to be 12 and will have to pay then and then we will make even more money, cuz their parents kept their membership, instead of adding rates on these kids now (mine rarely are EVER even in the daycare...they are in school all day and I am a stay at home mom so typically when I do go its during the day). On some occasions its nice to be able to bring my kids into play basketball with them in the gym. But forget about Lifetime promoting health for kids...its all about the extra money and the greed. I understand running a business and needing to make a profit but give me a break!! I hope Lifetime realizes they made a mistake by doing this and learns from it in the future! Stick with your word Lifetime!!! After years of paying a monthly membership I will be cancelling...its too bad because I didnt use the gym as much as I would have liked to...many months never at all and they were just getting free money from me. Oh, and icing on the cake when I called and talked to the manager (she actually called me back which was nice, but I was forgotten about on hold for 10 min first!) about this new fee...she told me I would have to come in to take my kids off the membership so I wouldnt have to pay for them. I have to come in but you can start charging for them without my approval??? UGH...so wrong!! Im over it!! See ya Lifetime...it was a nice run while it lasted!

I selected poor to fair because there is no option for just poor. Lifetime fitness looks great and seems like a upscale place to go work out. It is but there is one large problem they have the worst customer service and business practices that I have ever seen. I went in and was offered a one month membership and was told if I dont like it they would gladly refund my money. I went in that weekend and decided that although nice I didnt have the time to wait for machines and the staff is just kinda rude. I called back 5 days later and asked for my refund and was told it would be taken care of. Of course it hasnt I have been avoided, lied too and purposley decieved by one certain employee that signed me up for the deal. It has been almost two months now and still no refund. I finally called the GM and talked to her shes even worse than the employee. I have finally filed claims with the better business bureau. I urge any one considering this crap company as their gym to go some where else. I used to go to Dakota and even though the inside is not as nice the people are a million times better. DONT GOTO LIFETIME SAVAGE THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is all about making money. On this particular day, YMCA offers 20 classes for its guests , meanwhile Lifetime offers 11. Of course you have many other options that will cost you anywhere from $30.00 to $199.00. Meanwhile, at the pool, you can attend a aqua class. You will enjoy music so loud, that the instructor wont be able to instruct, she will be using some type of sign language. You wouldnt be able to hear it anyway, as Its open swim! Yes you can bring your children, they can scream and play during this class. And if you do decide you use a treadmill or other equipment, make sure you do not use the equipment reserved for the members who pay an additional fee, to get their "special" group session. Yes, there will be a group class on the exercise floor for you to enjoy. This will include very loud music, and a screaming instructor! Off to the hot tub we go, here you will enjoy black mold. Children in the tub unsupervised, one kid was in his underwear. I also encountered this young man in the womans shower, standing in the corner covering his eyes, per his mommys instruction. I have been so blessed to encounter this after belonging to this club for a week. Off to the Y I go!

Lifetime gyms have the best kept facilities. Cleaner restrooms. Private showers. Nice stacks of towels. Way more likely to find an open machine, weights, or equipment than any other gym. Not to mention some of the latest equipment. Nice, motivating environment too. It is not a jock stereotypical place. All sorts of people go. With that said. This Lifetime has large slides into an indoor family pool area. Sauna and Whirlpool are in the pool area as large coed locations where you can watch your kids have fun. Down side is small lap lanes of about 15 meters. Also, awkward stretching area in front of Trainers desk and in between all of the other areas where workout equipment is located

Ive been receiving unauthorized charges on my account for over a year. After noticing, I immediately brought it to the attention of the GM at the Savage location and Corporate. 2 months later and I havent heard a word back. Each time I reach out, I get redirected and pushed aside. This is either the most incompetent organization or the most unethical...Im not sure which is least desirable. It has finally gotten to the point where Im left without any other options than to pursue them in a claims court to get back the money that was wrongfully withdrawn. Its sad that this is what it takes to even hear back from someone.
