Weve used PODS several times and all but the most recent have been excellent experiences. Most recently, we moved from Kansas City to Utica, New York. We have a rather narrow driveway but we had measured it and confirmed with the PODS sales agent that it was wide enough to accommodate the POD and its carrier. When the POD arrived, the driver looked at the driveway, said, "Too narrow" and proceeded to position the POD to sit against the curb in the street We explained to him that the city prohibited that placement. He then placed the POD diagonally in our small front yard, digging ruts and ruining some of the grass. We do not blame the driver, it was all he could do. There were only a few cartons and boxes in the POD and we had labor at hand. We asked the driver to wait long enough for us to unload and then he could take the POD back to Syracuse. The driver indicated that he was willing to do that but had to get approval from his traffic manager. We told him to make sure that the manager understood that we were prepared to pay extra for the delay, which would not have exceeded half an hour. He said, "Ill tell him that but hes a jerk so dont get your hopes up." Sure enough, the traffic manager not only refused to let the driver wait and bring back the empty POD but chewed him out for asking. Note that this would have saved the company the cost of a second trip to Utica to pick it up later. Reluctantly, the driver told us he had to leave immediately even though he had no pickups or deliveries scheduled for the rest of the day. We simmered over this for a day or so and then called PODS customer service. The young lady listened sympathetically, looked up our record, saw that we were repeat customers, and said that, while PODS would not ordinarily wait for unloading, it seemed perfectly reasonable to make an exception under the circumstances. She then said, "If my supervisor listens to a recording of this call Ill be in deep doodoo but frankly that guy in Syracuse is a jerk. Weve had customer complaints about him before." Familiar ring to that, isnt there? Anyway, five stars for PODS. An easy company to work with, courteous people, competitive prices, good and clean equipment. ZERO stars for the Syracuse traffic manager. Be forewarned if you are moving into or out of the Mohawk Valley; do not count on that guy for any assistance.

I am not at all pleased, so far at all. I moved from OH to CA. I ordered the container for delivery, and got a quote for the whole move. Driver came on 8/24/17 and wouldnt leave it since there was a car on the street. Rescheduled for 8/26/17 and no one showed up, no call. Spoke with the local Toledo PODS location sice customer service could do nothing but take notes. Gary said he didnt know what happened, but could pick it up first thing Monday 8/28/17, which it was. But then I was charged 80.44$ next day fee. I scheduled my pick up for 9/11/17. No one showed up. i had to call local Toledo again and ask for a pick up. The came 9/12/17. Scheduled a redelivery to my new home in CA for 9/22/17, with a final pick up of the empty container on 9/25/17. Im in CA waiting for Friday 9/22/17 for my stuff. Called 9/20/17 for an update. The container is still in Toledo, sitting, waiting for me to schedule my dates, which I did! Customer service blamed me. So now I wont get my stuff ( well needed stuff) until 9/30/17! this also puts me into another month of fees, which I was told yes, I would be charged. Did i mention my original quote was for under 3,000$. Pods just keeps charging my credit card and were well into at 3200$ now. I am not happy at all. The whole process has been terrible. This was my first and last time using PODS. I scheduled a long distance move from Kansas City, MO to Middletown Ohio on 09/21. I explained to the rep that I was starting a new job on October 4th and needed the POD to be in town around then. I was informed that it would be no problem. The POD was delivered on 09/26th with no problem, and I had people to load it on the 27th. I called the general number and was informed that no one would be able to pick it up until October 4th. I then called customer service twice and was told that the local storage may be able to pick it up on the 28th, low behold I call back today and was informed that they would not be able to, I chatted and called and was asked what I expected them to about it? I only booked the pod because I was assured it would get where I needed it when I needed it. Now, I am being told they cant pick it up until the 30th and wont deliver it until Oct. 10th. I paid over a little over 1500 for long distance service and frankly they owe me a discount for the mess. Anyone traveling long distance should avoid usig this company.

I would not recommend anyone to use PODS service. I am in Houston area and we just hit by the storm, 1/3 of Houston was flooded. Anyway, I order the container and it got delivered on schedule. I had full intention to use it but then we hit by the storm and the container got flooded along with my house. I called them and told them the container has water damage and I can’t use it anymore, and due to flooded road they cannot deliver any replacement containers. Finally after couple of weeks they were able to pick the empty container. I called them and asked for a refund because I couldn’t use their service and there answer was that we cannot refund the money since you did not cancel the server prior to 48 hours. I explained to them that this not a normal cancelation, my house and the container got flooded and the response was, well this is nature disaster and it is no bodies fault. I was very disappointed with their lack of understanding and not able to accommodate their customers who are going through some tough time.

Do yourself a favor and do not hire this company, find a different option. They have no control over their locations. They claim on their website that you have a week to schedule your delivery date, but they do not have the capability to fulfill on what they are selling. The main office will not even share the local contacts phone number. I have been on the phone with them five times in two days, the local office will not even pick up the phone when the main office calls them, let alone return emails. They are unprofessional and could care less if you tell them this is by far the worst experience I have ever had with any service. I called one week in advance to have my property delivered and now they are telling me that my property can not be delivered until 6 days after my requested date. My family has been out of our home living in temporary housing for 3 weeks and now we have the expense of another week because they could not deliver the pods. Shawnee KS
