Absolutely worst moving company I have ever hired. First off the secretary on the phone was very unprofessional. But due to the great ratings I ignored my instinct. I just needed two guys for two hours to load my u-haul for me. The lady called back several times trying to get my order right. First time she called she needed to know my drop off location. Once again I told her that I just needed guys to load my truck. I made a point to ask her if I needed to rent a dolly with my truck rental or if they would bring one. She said they would have all the equipment they needed. The day before I never got a confirmation call so I called. They never answered the first time. I always had to leave a message then they called me back. They did call back to confirm. The guys did show up on time. One guy it was his first day. They other guy was the lead. When they got there the guys had in my order that I was moving apartments in the same building. So they were confused when I showed them the truck. They did not have a dolly or lifting straps or anything. So boxes had to be taken out 1 at a time. One guy loaded boxes while the other guy spent the first 15 minutes on the phone trying to call the secretary to get a dolly. No dolly ever arrived. They did get the job done in 2 hours but they were not efficient at loading a truck at all. I noticed large, heavy items on top of my nice upholstered dining room chairs. I had also wrapped my dressers in Saran Wrap to prevent scratches while moving. But when they loaded the truck they didnt bother to use the 2 dozen moving blankets I rented on top of the furniture. When we unloaded there was damage to several things. Most major being a huge crack in the middle of my long dresser from to much weight being put on top. It was also scratched and scuffed all over since no blanket was used. One of my dining chairs was also busted from all the weight being placed on too of it.

My Husband and I had an amazing experience with My Mountain Movers! We were moving from Lees Summit to the Northland and with 3 days notice MMM were able to set up a time, give an accurate quote, and check-in to make sure we didnt have any changes. The morning of the move, MMM were more prepared than we were - they have all the equipment to keep their team (and your home/stuff) safe while moving and they were so knowledgeable about how to best move ALL types of furniture. We worked with Joey and Scott! They were STELLAR! When hearing that we were going to be making 2 or 3 trips back and forth to get all the stuff, they suggested throwing some extra stuff on the truck to save us some time. They were even kind enough to make it sound helpful - when I asked if they were sure, they said "yes, it helps fill in the little gaps and keeps the bigger stuff from moving around." Seriously, these guys were great to work with and so careful to ensure our giant massive bedroom furniture made the trip unscathed. They even dis- and re- assembled our bed when I admitted in my moving madness that I couldnt remember how I had gotten it apart the first time. This company (especially Joey and Scott - who I assume are the top-notch of MMM) goes above and beyond in every way. Even with everything "extra" they were able to help-out with - I was sure of the pricing because upon speaking with the owner to get my quote he was upfront and honest about how much extra it would be per hour and extra weight on the truck. After a few experiences with other companies and/or trying to do it all on our own - we will ALWAYS use My Mountain Movers. Since moving, we have mentioned them by name to each of our parents who are looking at down-sizing in the near future. Thanks again so much! - Kimberly and Matt

I would give this company 0 stars if I could. What company calls you on the day of your scheduled move and tells you they are not coming?? I scheduled movers a month ahead of time to move our stuff from our current apartment into a new one. My boyfriend and I took the morning off work so we could be there. When I originally called, the lady who answered the phone was completely spacey and unprofessional - that should have been my warning sign. 2 days before our scheduled moving date, I called to confirm our appointment and she could not find our reservation. I told her I had spoken with her 3 times on the phone and did not understand how she could possibly not have the reservation. She said there was nothing she could do and the day was booked up with other appointments. After panicking with my boyfriend trying to find a new company, she called me back an hour later saying she had read the calendar wrong and theyd see us at 9am. At 9:15am on the day of our scheduled moving date, I called to find out where our movers were. She said she had us down for 10am so thats when they would be arriving. I was very frustrated because I only took off work from 8-12 and was worried this would not be enough time. She was completely unapologetic and said either they would come at 10am or not at all. I was shocked to hear how rude she was being, told her 10am would be fine. At 10am I got a call from one of the movers, telling me that they could not get ahold of the driver so they would not be coming today. Completely unbelievable. My boyfriend and I now have to be out of our apartment by the end of the day, and have no movers. This company should be shut down.

Service so bad I had to actually post my 1st review ever. We hired this company to move us and the experience was nothing like the reviews claim them to be. 1: They were SEVERAL hours late and 1 man short so we had to bring in our own help. 2: NEVER EVER pay these people in cash, we inspected our furniture and had several items that were carelessly damaged and we got no response from the 10+ attempts to get the issue resolved. The damage of the furniture exceeded the price we spent on the move so had there been credit card transaction there would of been more than enough proof that there was cause for a charge back/refund. They dont request any credit card info, theres no email confirmation or any of that.....IF they show up, theres just a group of sketch men that show up and move you and ask for cash and you to sign a *dont try to sue us later* waiver. We are aware that things may happen when you are moving heavy items but they didnt even address the issue, let alone point us in any sort of direction even for a mere touch up or repair. The company used to have different owners but as of this past year it is spiraling into the ground. Carefully read these latest reviews before you make a decision on movers. This company is terrible.

Was quoted $360, ended up paying $540. I went over the inventory multiple times, and stressed to quote high. The owner insisted that it would only cost $360, so I went with them over someone else. When it came time to move, it it took MUCH longer than they quoted. The movers were very nice, but if I hadnt starting to move stuff as well, I would have paid $600-$700. That really defeated the purpose of hiring movers (since it went over, even with me moving stuff as well). I learned that the owner died, so I didnt complain. I figured that they were still in flux, and mourning. However a month later, they did the same thing to my brother. In his case, they forgot to write his appointment down so they didnt show until 6 (after calling them several times with no answers). My brother didnt even know if they would be getting moved. I really wanted to like this company, and its a tragedy that they lost their owner. Things may have gone differently if that hadnt happened, and I would have loved to have given this company five stars. Instead I can only give two, because our movers were very nice and helpful. It just ended up 50% more than our estimate, and I still had to help move.
