My daughter was home for the holidays and her VW failed to start, one day. Shed had this same problem twice in Missoula and the repair shop there diagnosed it as a failed alternator both times and thus charged her to replace it. We were referred to the Small Car Clinic by a friend and they discovered a very simple electronic connection issue, which they fixed very inexpensively. Honest, trustworthy, very experienced professionals!
