They deserve zero stars. I am contacting a lawyer for violating the fair housing act. You cant refuse to rent to someone based off of one reason when everything else checks out. I am African American and feel me and my family was wronged in the application process. We put in an application and paid the fees. I received a call the next day stating that they saw I listed a felony on my application. I told them yes I did and what it was(uttering) and when it was (2009). She immediately stated because I have a felony they cannot rent to my family. Then offered our money back for the applications which they had not even ran yet a day after turning them in. That was the first violation because you cannot discriminate against a renter especially without even considering what the felony was for and the length of time that had past. I then informed them I had past a background check in lincoln just a few days before they did one on me. She then mentioned she would have to find out about their policy on felonies and she would have to get back to me. I then called the rental company in lincoln to ask about what showed on my background when they ran it. The guy told me my felony did not show up which it shouldnt have (had been past 7 years going on 8). He told me all that showed up was driving without a license which is not a felony. I then called Kearney rental pros back and told them the information. She seemed to not really care and just said I will still have to let you know when I find out. So the weekend goes by and Monday as well. My wife gets a call tues telling us that we did not qualify because of my felony. The thing is though for one they were only suppose to get info about their policy on felonies to see if running my application would even be worth it and not for nothing. They ran it without ever getting back to me but thats cool. My issue is there are usually two standard background checks. 7 years and 10 years. If they ran 7 years then its impossible my felony showed up and that was verified through the other rental company in lincoln. And if the background check consisted of going back ten years why would you run my application in the first place after we already discussed my charge was from 2009 which clearly isnt 10 years (2019). Now during this entire waiting period we noticed them posting the property on every known site possible. Its as if they were never planning on renting to us and I dont believe a background was ran at all. Because it would have made no sense to run a10 year and if they ran 7 they are lying about it showing up. I called them to get copies of whatever they came up with to make their decision and their policy on felonies which im getting the run around right now. I am a family man who works wife works and sister and law works and has NEVER been late on my rent which they can verify through my current landlord. But they wouldnt know that because they discriminated against my felony I do believe my race played a major factor in the consideration process because thats what the process is they consider whether to take a felony charge or not. They dont have a clear policy which is another violation. You cant just pick and choose when to except someone with a felon. And if you are allowed what are the reasons my felony was an exception when its non violent has nothing to do more than with cashing a bad check and its over 7 years old.

I honestly didnt even want to give this company 1 star because of the horrible experience I have had with them. I have a long history of moving and renting from many different companies and I have never once been charged for carpet cleaning upon moving out of the apartment. What really gets me is that they sent us a letter after we put in our two months notice to vacate that said we do not need to clean the carpets because they will have them professionally cleaned. Fine, this is what every other company does anyway. However, when we get our security deposit back, they have charged us $145.00 for carpet cleaning. They never told us that we would be charged for it, if they had I most likely would have found another company to rent from because out of the past 8 times I have moved I have NEVER been charged for carpet cleaning because it is considered a routine maintenance. Not to mention when we moved into the apartment the carpets had obviously not been cleaned as there were huge stains on the floor in the upstairs bedroom.

This company did respond quickly to direct, specific maintenance requests and complaints. However, generally, I didnt feel the hallways of the apartment I lived in were properly maintained. The rugs and carpet in the common space leading to the actual apartment were almost never vacuumed and at some points in the year there would be bugs everywhere. Furthermore, I didnt feel the apartment I lived in had been cleaned well before I moved in. There was mold in my refrigerator, as well as a fairly large amount of dirt in the corners of the bathroom and in the window sills. The office staff was, for the most part, friendly and professional. On the contrary, they seemed to be unorganized and lacking in communication skills. They attempted to get me to pay my deposit twice and were unaware that I had been paying extra in order to be on a monthly lease. Overall, my experience with Kearney Kearney Rental Pros was below average, but not terrible.

We have been with Kearney Rental Pros since the day we arrived in Nebraska. We have dealt with them for one and a half years now. We couldnt have asked for a more professional and kind group of people than the team there. We learned about Kearney and other important landmarks the first day! We have never felt so welcome anywhere. No matter what time of day when we encountered an issue within hours our problems are solved. We work directly with Jolynn to pay rent. She has been so outstanding and kind with us. If only we had a world of professionals such as these folks in all our lives each day! I feel they deserve our respect and recognition for being the great team they are! I would recommend anybody coming to Kearney to them!

Not a rental management company I would recommend to anyone in the Kearney area. Negative experiences: 1. Fixed my washing machine but forgot to hook my dryer back up, it sat in the middle of my living room for around a week......had to call them to get it installed. 2. Refused to do any upkeep on the parking lot, it had very large potholes throughout. When I asked them about it they stated, "We cant fix it because it is technically owned by a different company." 3. Shut water off to my apartment complex on three separate occasions, the first two were because the water main broke in the same exact spot. If you are looking for a good rental company I would strongly suggest you avoid Kearney Rental at all costs.

Kearney Rental Pros has very poor communication. They have been late to all of our appointments and have stood me up at three appointments. Every property that I have tried to rent had been rented and they didnt inform me until I contacted them. I had a deposit placed on a place, the owner pulled from the rental management, they did return the deposit but did nothing about the situation leaving me days until my previous lease was up. They have done nothing good for me. Terrible, terrible service.
