As with any business relationship there are ups and downs. Such is the case when you are renting a property. Copernicus is a fair individual. He cares about people and he really goes out of his way to help fellow veterans. We rented a property from Copernicus Realty and then Northwest after the merger. Most of our "downs" stemmed from an uncaring homeowner who would not approve repair requests and a newly integrated Property Management staff who were not often on the same page as Copernicus and the standards he upheld before the merger. 85%-90% of the time our interaction with management staff was cordial, they were friendly and always worked hard to get stuff done... as long as you kept following up constantly. The house had issues when we moved in, but the turn around time from the previous tenants was quick, so I chalk most of it up to that. Our A/C unit wasnt functioning at move in but that was fixed the same day. Other repairs often would go months in the back and forth between the homeowners, people supplying estimates and the property management team who would seem to lose track most likely cause they were overwhelmed. Not much the property managers can do about that I suppose. In the end Copernicus is a good, fair guy. Unfortunately we often had to deal with him due the the unresponsiveness of the Property Management team in the office (without going into further detail). I know he is working with them as they move into their first PCS season as a merged company and things were definitely getting better as we were moving out. When it came time to move out Copernicus worked with us to ensure we got a fair amount of our security deposit back. If I ever end up back in San Antonio Ill hit up Copernicus if Im going to buy a house.

Karen Loper and the team at Northwest Realeatate Property Managment are first class professionals in the area of customer service and Real Estate. My wife and I rented a home from April 2013 when I retired from the Military to April 2014. Every step of the way from repairs to rental payment to customer service the team at Northwest made it seemless and painless; very customer, user friendly. For rental payments and service requests they have a tenant portal which lets you pay your rent and if you need it get service at the click of a button which is very convienent with my very busy schedule. Anytime I needed a reair the response was timely and professional. As a renter I couldnt be more impressed with the service I received. If you are looking for a Real Estate Company to manage your rental property, I would highly recommend NW Realty. They are very good at making sure the tenant keeps up with their responsibilities such as: routine maintenace, ensuring that new Air Filters are installed monthly in the AC Unit, the hedges trimmed, lawn is mowed and edged and the yard is fertilized at the appropriate times. If I ever own a rental property I will no doubt hire Northwest Real Estate Property Managment to manage the property. When the time comes for me to buy, again, I will use Northwest Realty because I know I will receive the best service available.

Our move in condition was horrible with overgrown lawn, dirty house and garage. And every time we needed to contact some one, we had to e-mail. After sending and e-mail we received and auto-generated response that our e-mail was submitted. They do not take communication with their tenants or even past tenants seriously. When asked when to expect a response, I get an answer like this "Honestly, I am just the assistant, my broker does not answer to me, so I really dont know." Really? There is no goal set for how//when you respond to your customers? After a horrible move in, they still charged me $405 for yard work, that we clearly did (even after receiving it with toys, beer bottle caps, and over grown). And $35 for dirty drip pans (I left them with the exact ones they gave me at time of move in). I mean, what good is a "move in inventory" for?!?! Anyways, here I am four days later, still waiting on a response as to why they would take this amount out of my very large deposit. But obviously, no telling when I will get a response. Maybe an attorney could help? Or the BBB? Or looking up the owner on the tax appraisal website would help, and contacting them, myself?

Do not rent from this company. Worst property management company I have ever dealt with. We have worked with several being in the military and moving often and I can say without a doubt I would not recommend this company. My opinion is that this company uses shady business practices to cheat people out of money and they work with home owners who have no business renting out their homes in the first place. The house we moved into was filthy upon arrival. Carpets were not cleaned and mildew was all over bathrooms. Things that were broke in the house the company/owner would not fix. We were charged a hefty cleaning fee after move out despite the fact we left it spotless and in better condition than when we moved in. I have never in 12 years of moving around with the military been more unhappy in a house as it was poorly maintained and neighborhood amenities were not offered because the owner neglected to pay HOA fees. If you are considering using this business...RUN.

This is by far the worst property management team I have dealt with. I stayed at a home for 1.5 years. When my contract ended, they sent me a gigantic move out bill. They charged me $380 for lawn mowing, even though I properly mowed the lawn before leaving the property. They even charged me $180 for trash removal, although I asked them beforehand whether I need to dispose the trash immediately or not and they told me not to worry about it. When I sent a dispute letter, they sent a generic reply without properly justifying anything. Then I went to talk to Amy (the owner of the company), Ashley came and told me that I cannot talk to Amy. So, I asked whether she (Ashley) can address my issues. She told me she does not handle those, only Amy does. But Amy does not talk to tenants. Irony!!! In a nutshell, Ashley is very unprofessional like the most other employees of the company. Think twice - no think 4 times before dealing with this company.

Amy and her team have managed 4 rental properties for me for over 8 years, and theyve always done so with utmost professionalism. They do periodic inspections with detailed reports, they are prompt with quotes and repairs, and most importantly, Ive never had a house empty for more than a week or so. They also have done an excellent job screening tenants, which is important in this risky business. Ive sent several military friends to NWRE, and I dont hesitate to recommend them here whether you are a property owner or a tenant. Amy has also helped me purchase my last 3 properties, and I love her patience in waiting for the right investment property for my needs.

Northwest Real Estate is by far the most condescending, obnoxious, and unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They are incapable of respectfully speaking to their clientele. After telling me the home is available, she started complaining about how busy she was going to be. I am truly shocked by the audacity that Trish and her colleague had. We loved the home we saw and after we spoke to them for an hour, they said they would call us when its convenient for them. You have one star on Yelp...how busy can you possibly be? Last time I checked, we are the clientele. Not your therapists, assistants, or students. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
