I normally take my car to a private mechanic but during my recent visit to a local car show I happened to experience some car trouble. All the participants at this show urged me to take it to the Rancho location because of the store managers involvement with local scene. I actually asked several people during the show about where to take it and received the same answer every time. After the show I had it towed to them. WOW!!!, First I was greeted by a real friendly man named Dustin. Just a happy smiley type of guy. My repair took most of the next day but it gave me a chance to get to know these people. Chris my service guy was wonderful and very patient with my hearing (age) issues. Im 70 years old and Chris treated me so kind and warm. They seemed a bit understaffed as Chris was going all over the place, but they still came together to help me out. I got to meet the stores manager Pete and its obvious why his store was recomended he took the time to let my 12 yr old Granddaughter teach him dance moves in front of the stereo department. (Gut wrenching FUNNY). He made sure that everyone was on top of their game and cared about everyone waiting for our cars. He came in and handed everyone some water and introduced himself and asked if we were being treated right. Who really cares these days? Really? He does. Tim and Walt Were very careful with my old car and you could tell they liked what they do. I see a few bad reviews about them. You cant please everyone but they sure try to. You all pleased me by going above and beyond. Please dont change anything. You made me believe that good trusting honest people still care more about the customer than the dollar bill.. This kind of service just dont exist anymore. Thank you. Clay

Took it in for alignment, left with it still veering to the left, substantially. Had to wait a week to come back, dropped it off at the appointment time, and asked that they call me when it was ready, but I would likely pick it up the next day as it was the weekend. Called the next day, nope. Not ready. Not even brought into the garage. Last time I brought it in, they didnt call me when it was ready, no update, nada. This is highly disappointing. First of all, you didnt get it right the first time. Second of all, you couldnt fix it when it was brought in for a scheduled appointment. Service gave me this whole list of things that were wrong with my car - literally a sheet from top to bottom. Just do what you were asked to do! I am not an idiot and will not be bullied into getting a new power steering pump. I would not be surprised if they intentionally screwed up the alignment so I could bring it back and say "oh yeah, you were right, I do need all of that stuff done." Unethical, lacking in customer service - severely, salesmen for mechanics. Will never use PB again. **Picked it up from alignment- said they aligned it 3 times and cant figure out why its still pulling. (shocker) Recommended all these services "but cant guarantee thats the issue." Then told me its obvious my car had been in a wreck since they cant find the issue and the airbag light is on (its malfunctioning). Called another place and they said to go get my tires balanced and rotated (which is free at the place I bought my tires from) and then next step after that is to check and see if the front strut mount is sticking. Wow. Why give me the run around, PB? Who cares if the rear wheel bearing is loose, that has nothing to do with the pull of the car!

AVOID PEP BOYS! In 2009, I had my wifes Pontiacs transmission rebuilt by Pep Boys. I was apprehensive in using them in the first place and I should have listened to my gut. My wife has only put 20k miles on the car since it was repaired and the other day it failed, no reverse, no 1st or 2nd gear, etc. So I called both Pep Boys in Riverdale and Las Vegas, Rancho store where it was repaired and they both told me that they only warranty their transmission rebuilds for one year or 10k miles. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? So my $3,039.00 only got me a transmission that is guaranteed to last for 10k miles? I have no one to blame but myself for using this company and trusting that they would do a good job (I should have researched the company more). Come on Pep Boys, I have a Toyota that has 98k miles on it and the original transmission is rock solid, but you cant make one last more than 10k miles? 20k if youre lucky (I guess I am lucky) So for 3 grand, I dont feel that its unreasonable to expect the transmission to last more than 20k miles, which is about 3-4 oil changes worth of mileage on most modern vehicles. Pep Boys has lost a customer for life and I will gladly give my money to honest, local mechanics who guarantee their work. I highly recommend you do the same. p.s. the manger in Las Vegas was supposed to call me back yesterday and he never did, great customer service Pep Boys.

I had my car in there for a tune up on November the 25th and was very happy with the service. Though the price was more than expected the team at this location went out of their way to make sure I got every discount I could by looking online coupons for me and making sure my bill was correct. Dustin and Jeremy were excellent customer service advisers and made sure I knew what my jeep needed and went over all costs before they did any of the work. Brian Knecht was the auto technician and I was there for 7 hours and kept coming out to check in with my and tell me his progress and if any additional problems/costs came up,that was great. Also the GM Pete Anderson was always making sure I knew what was going on,got me beverages and also went over my final bill as I was there for so long. Lastly, Oscar and Taylor, two employes there were there to go over any questions and Taylor, she went over my entire bill with me and made sure I did get all my discounts and made sure all my questions were answered. I am scheduled to go back in January for additional work(as they were short handed that day) and will gladly go back due to the great customer service I received at this store.I would highly recommend them!

I waited till the last minute to get my car registered. In a hurry I went to pepboys to get the smog around 2pm. When I got there I told the counter man my situation, I think his name was Ricky. Ricky confirmed how busy they were and told me he would see what they could do for me. He called a manager over and told him my problem. This was my own fault but the manager, his name was Pete, told me they would do everything possible to get me to DMV today. Pete took my keys and went outside. To my suprise befor Ricky could finish the paperwork I saw my car driving into the shop. I would say with in about 30 minutes or so I was on my way to Dmv. I had my registration in hand by 430pm. This could not of happened if not for the extra care Pete and Ricky offered. Its those little steps they take to go out of their way to help people. They were busy and could have made me wait and it would of been my fault. Thank you pete and ricky. You are the true meaning of service.
