AWESOME - As a recent retiree, I found this golden nugget as a Silver Sneaker member. This "active" center demonstrates a community atmosphere with very experienced staff and trainers who support each one of their members. So worth my 16 mi commute. Unbelievable amount of exercise programs available for all levels. Everyone is welcomed and even the experienced members assist with newbie set up and involvement. No need for fancy gym clothes here, just healthy fun and friendship. My personal trainer, Sammy is beyond 5 stars . She keeps me motivated and is "mean" in a very positive way. She pushes me beyond what I think I cant do and I do it. Even if it is beating my previous clock time (in seconds) for that blank. Sammy has my hourly workouts planned to the minute and each visit has a variety exercises with a focus on the rights areas. What a motivator and worth every penny! She even provides a hands on stretch routine after wards. Pure luxury. This staff works very hard to provide top service and your feedback is very important to them. HRC shows a sincere welcome for single, family and senior members. Diane Vasko Silver Sneaker Member 3/17

It is really amazing to me to read these stellar reviews. I went to this place for about 2 months and though I paid for the 3rd month, ended up just not going. Here are the reasons I find it subpar: 1. The pool was FILTHY, all the time. I tried to swim there so many times, but each time had to swim on my back as I simply couldnt bring myself to put my face in the water. Just could not look at the dirt at the base of the pool or the floating hairs and particles in the water. 2. the hot tub area looks like it is from the 50s - there was a pipe that seemed to be dripping the water that was collected from around the hot tub back into it and was wrapped in some sort of fabric thing;it was gross to sit in the tub and watch the thing drip water into the tub. 3. The machines are all in the basement. Well, there are no windows in the basement and I found the ventilation to be insufficient. With all the people exercising and sweating in it, the air was stale. I was trying to do cardio to help with my migraines but found that the gym made it worse - not enough fresh air. On the positive side, the showers were very clean and the Yoga instructor was nice.

We have put our kids in the HRC camp 2 years running. The program and staff are excellent. Darlene, the Camp Coordinator, has made the experience phenomenal. We have a Pre-K daughter who has some separation anxiety (drop-offs at Daycare are very difficult), but Darlene worked hard with our youngest to make it work. She worked miracles and now on year 2 of the camp, our daughter looks forward to going to camp instead of crying. The camp directors Mr. Val (2016) and Mr. Thomas (2017) were both great and very accommodating as well. Darlene gave a ton of special attention to our girls and we cant say enough good things about her. I thought it was perhaps "only us" but I recently witnessed another mother struggling with drop-off and the child was inconsolable. Darlene came from behind the counter and got on her knees to talk to the girl face-to-face. Within a few minutes she had worked her magic and won the child over. Overall I would definitely recommend the camp program to anybody looking for a summer camp in the area.

I have been a member of many of the other "big box" fitness franchises in the past and became disenchanted with my overall experience. Because of this, I had been unable to properly maintain a healthier lifestyle............... until now ! I began my membership on June 1, 2017 and never looked back. With diet and the proper atmosphere to work out in, I have managed to lose 30 lbs. to date and have never felt better. The facility itself is conducive to this type of outcome. The work out equipment is superior, racket ball courts, facilities spotless, sauna/whirlpool and indoor swimming pool make for the individual looking for the perfect "one stop shopping" experience. The entire staff could not be more helpful or accommodating to your individual needs not to mention the friendliest people I have encountered in a long time ! I have found my Nirvana in Hillsborough !!!!!!!!! Thanks to ALL for making this one of the easiest and best decisions in my life. : )

I have three small children and considered this place because it was so close to my house. While the pricing was OK, their rules are not so good. I went to sign up for a swim service and was told to sign up my kids in certain classes with the flexibility to change if it was an incorrect one. What i did not know was that i had to do it the same day. They had a hard time finding my name first let alone figure out what to do. Although they tried accommodating me in different days, i wanted to come there one day with all children then to drag all my children in different days. It did not seem like the person on the phone would understand what it is to have a 2 year old, a 4 year old and a 8 year old. Anyhow, we took the $80 bucks loss. The teachers that my kids learn from are phenomenal. I am a bit confused to stay there and wait for a good teacher or take a risk go to YMCA.

One of the receptionists was rude. I politely asked what the temperature was in the pool waiting area and she said it was 86 degrees. I literally felt like passing out watching my kids during swim lessons. So was curious what they leave the temp and and why it was so hot. A simple response would have been "sorry we have no choice" instead she had the nerve to say " the temp is not that bad! " She should try sitting in 86 degrees for an hour before making that comment. What a shame , because most of the staff and instructors are awesome. What a disappointment.

Polite and knowledgeable staff. The equipment is fairly new and theres enough equipment for everybody most of the time. However whenever I go, theres nobody in the "training area" whatsoever. This area takes up about an 1/8 of the gym area. You can not use the equipment or even step over the partition even when nobod is training in that area. The only other issue I have is the decor. This building looks dated from the 80s inside. My guess is the place has not been updated since being built. If not for the employees I probably would not join.

I guarantee HRC has the environment youre looking for! Across the board...very friendly staff and trainers! Always available for questions. HRC attracts great client mix too! MANY alternatives for whole family, but also great for individuals who just want a friendly environment with space to do their own thing. Ive been going for 2+ years and get more motivated every week. If youre thinking about a fresh start for yourself or family, take a tour of HRC Fitness!

I have been a member of HRC Fitness for almost fifteen years. It is a great place to work out. They have a wide variety of classes in addition to the fitness machines, free weights, racquetball courts and pool, The instructors are very friendly and always willing to help members in any way they can. There is a sense of community with the other members as well. I would definitely recommend HRC Fitness to anyone who is looking for a great gym.
