Gym is ran very poorly. The management is horrible and the manager Heather is a joke. Has absolutely no respect for members or the gym. She creates little puppets promising them the world and "assistant manager positions" creating entitlement. Especially for "ASSISTANT MANAGER" Georgia what a joke. Worse piss ass attitude anyine can have. Treats other workers and trainers poorly. On top of these tight relationships between the staff or should i say managers against other employees and members which blows my mind, the equipment never works spin bikes broken for months, pec deck down for 6 weeks, calf machine broken every other week , cables all jammed up, smith machine sticks for over a year i can keep going on and on. Bathrooms have mold , dust everywhere floors dirty what a disgusting place. Try to talk to "management" about this it goes no where because "ASSISTANT MANAGER AND GENERAL MANAGER "are in a relationship seems like conflict of interest and positions are not worked as they should be because there are personal relationships attached. If i owned or ran a gym it would be about staff amd members not just my pay check. Good news is even though this Gym sucks LA Fitness is openning September 2017 and Golds Gym which is in operation for many years are both 1-2 miles away. They will lose over 1/2 their members. Dont settle for this place it will be closing soon and it flat out sucks.

If I could leave no stars I would... the girls at the desk are so nice & that is about the only good thing this gym has to offer. In less than a year I have had 8 different personal trainers & no results. The trainers are constantly cancelling and quitting. I have not had a session since April..it is now July & I am continuing to pay for it with the agreement to receive the services I am paying for which I am not receiving those services. I went into this location 2 weeks ago to speak to them about cancelling because I am beyond frustrated. They told me they would get back to me as soon as possible. Since then I have reached out to daily asking what is going on & it has been day after day of no reply. This is the most unprofessional gym I have ever been a member of. As of 2 weeks ago I have TWENTY NINE UNUSED PT SESSIONS in 8 months... you do the math. Want something fixed? Good luck getting any of the unprofessional staff to answer you. This place robs you of your money any way they possibly can. STAY FAR FAR AWAY!!!!

Location is great bcs its close but they cant seem to keep a staff, theres always a new person at the front and less experienced than the last. The management cant/wont seem to control the stupid kids that come in and bullshit on their phones be entire time, its like social time for some of the little basterds. The weekend hours has changed so many times that you have to call in just to be sure theyll be open, and dont get me started on how often a machine is broken, but theyll make sure to raise the "maintenance fee" every year lol. Retro Fitness is a great franchise but this particular owner and branch clearly has no clue what hes doing.

I used to attend, when it was Ran properly and it was a fun environment. Now they abuse instagram pictures like these Ninja turtle looking girls (manager) are models. Stop this non sense. The manager heather is a comolete b i t c h. Ever sense the old manager left, This place is a hell hole for a lack of better words. Who wants to have a "class" on turf in front of the whole gym. Hints why no one has attended a class in 8 weeks now. They need to fire the pterodactyl they refer to as a manager and hire someone who knows how to run a gym. Smells like Stat Island and estrogen in that place. Stay away

Im not sure about some of the things the below member are talking about but their shakes start at $4.50. There are also specials every day of the week so you can always get a good price. Obviosuly, like any other place the more you add into a shake the more it will cost. But there is options for any budget and appetite. The gym has brought it new equipment for the New Years and things are turned around in Howell. It has a great variety of equipment, awesome juicebar, unlimited tanning and personal training. None of the gyms at the same price in the area even compare.

Granted this gym is packed but what else would you expect. Its a public place where people go to make life changes. I never have issues with equipment availability and every machine is always in good working order. They may have new staff members every few months but dayum the ladies behind the counter always lookin good. Management knows how to hand select some dime pieces for sure! Do I enjoy going to Retro Fitness in Howell? HELL MUTHAF***IN YES! Stop complaining about this gym and just focus on your health!

This gym sucks Heather the manager of this gym is the most unprofessional person I ever met. She told me I cant have my gym bag near me and Ive had stuff stolen out of my locker. So when I got yelled I asked her if she would replace the items that got stolen out of my locker she laughed and said no! She needs to take an ethics course to learn how to treat others. The only reason she even has a job is because she is with the district manager which should be a conflict of interest.

Dont TRUST anyone there. I canceled my wifes membership as per there instructions and they continued to charge my credit card. When I told my CC company about this they did a charge back. They are now trying to get the lousy $40 dollars from me, which they say is a late fee. I am to tired to keep fighting it. I guess their big company needs the money more than I do. All I can say is, if you join make sure you dont use a CC you dont mind canceling so they cant keep charging it!!!

Forget canceling they hold your cc hostage. They will tell you its been canceled immediately. My cc has been charged for 5 months now. My bank has called the gym to see why theyre charging me and they tell them in closed account. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the headache. Google how other people have been charged for months after canceling retro has the worst reviews over this.

Manager is a telephone tough guy and tries to down speak to you I have been trying to cancel my membership for 4 months and you can only meet him Monday through Friday from 10-5 to cancel and no one else can do it...what a friggin dump this place it.

Terrible gym. When the other retro opened I switched. The shakes here are way too expensive & the gym ediquette sucks the manager & staff cant be bothered with taking care of their own members, apparently selling things is more important

Over crowded with people who need a lesson in gym etiquette. Also This Retro has only 1 size of shakes and at $7, I dont see its worth. Other Retros only charge $5 for their large. Whats up with the price difference on this franchise?
