I could not agree more about the review from Miss Susan on Aug 2nd, 2010. The facility has very impolite staff and did not try to understand customer demand, especially I had the same experience with Ms. Alorda. I was yelled and she did not listen to my understanding. Even I was wrong due to incorrect understanding, as she did not mention clear details to me about the payment and move-out procedure. I finally just let her kept saying on what she would like to say. She did not even understand that I was so bored about what she said already and she just kept talking and talking non-sense and does not correct my understanding and point of views. We experienced the same situation when trying to move out and having my huge truck blocking the gate. We understand the criticality of the gate and help to manage many customers to go out because we have no choice due to our size of the truck was 56 feet long. Both staffs came to yell at us and did not try to politely explain. Its like we are an animal. I have never had any bad experience like this before in my life. Good luck to this facility even its number one storage I have experienced with. I will absolutely avoid to rent this facility again ever unless you guys want to be like me: an animal.

I moved from Union County, NJ and previously rented a 10x10x20, had this unit for 5 yrs. The Company changed ownership within 1 yr after I moved in. They never mailed out monthly statements. The location was horrible right off of congested route 22 and every time I needed to go there for something I had to CALL because the elevator stayed broke, I was on the 3rd floor. I never could find a flat bed with wheels because they were all broke. They had 3 stalls where you would back your truck or car into that was so narrow, we had to replace a side view mirror on a 2004 surburban truck, because my husband could barely get the truck thru- HORRIBLE experience over the yrs. Thank God I found a Nice Clean, Customer Service Oriented Storage company just a few minutes from my apt. in Edison with Great Prices, and I am in the basement so no elevators for me this time. Extra Space Storage is worth the trip, Check Them out before you go somewhere else.....I did and glad I did.....

I had the most horrible interaction with a Ms. Alorda at the Metuchen facility (60 Bridge Street, Metuchen, NJ). It was obvious to me that this individual does not grasp the very important business savvy skills needed to make your business work. Not only did she yell at me and interrupt me when I was going to speak. She became verbally abusive and began name calling. As if this were not enough Ms. Alorda is not of the petite size, she is a plus size woman who likes to wear form fitting or at best clothing that is NOT her size. When I tried to reason with her and spoke to her I was bothered greatly by her appearance, not only does it give her a black eye but it gives your company two. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY TO ANYONE OF MY FRIENDS OR FAMILY. MS. ALORDA NEEDS TO LEARN SOME BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS IMMEDIATELY OR CONSIDER RESIGNING HER POSITION. COMPLETELY DISGUSTING AND AWFUL EXPERIENCE.

METUCHEN EXTRA SPACE STORAGE ROCKS!!!! Lourdes was very helpful and had excellent knowledge of exactly what I needed with me just giving her a brief description of my needs. She was not only pleasant to speak with but had awesome attention to detail. She had answers to every one of my questions and even provided me with more information. She definitely knows her stuff and I am happy to have chosen this particular location. Its conveniently located, next to major highways. Benjamin was also very helpful and super nice. I would DEFINITELY recommend this location and staff to EVERYONE I know. You wont be disappointed!!!!!!!!!! Shirley Perez - Edison, NJ

Please read the fine print. They require fingerprints. I wonder if they also require fingerprints for all employees and check it with police. I dont even know if it is legal to do so. As they put in the fine print : "we put reasonable precaution..." That sounds a way for the company to get free pass in the event something bad did happen to the poor guys fingerprint. The reason people buy life insurance is simple as preventing something so unlikely happening to them. Now imaging that the chance of that fingerprint being used by wrong hand... what is the odds? higher than life insurance or lower? Think about it.

The staff is available during the posted hours, knowledgeable, and friendly. The gates always work which isnt the case with every storage facilty Ive used in the past. Units are clean when rented & the facilty maintained. My only complaint would be not having lights inside of every unit which can be challenging in a 10x30 where the rear is so far from the hallway or road lighting. Other than that its a great place.

Using the space here for the last 4 months. Very clean place. Much better than other locations I have seen so far. Have trolleys and elevators which is a real plus in this location. Also, the customer service is outstanding. They explain you the process very calmly and politely. So far my experience was really cool here. Definitely would recommend this place for the cleanliness and the customer service.

Alorda and Benjamin are very helpful whenever I have a question or a concern. The facility is always kept clean, updated, and maintained throughout the year. During the year snow is removed promptly which is very helpful. I have never had a problem that they could or would not help me with. I have been using storage facilities for over 11 years and this is the best facility in this area.

Place sucks told them i wasnt working and had no help to pay my storage off so they auctioned off my stuff and couldnt even at least save my kids pictures that were in there and maybe if they sent me a bill every month i could have paid for it but they wsit to contact me after its over 200 dollars my storage unit number was 758 so those people are no help so dont ever go there

Just want to commend how helpful Alorda & Ashley have been. We have been renting a space here for almost 2 years and they have been extremely helpful & courteous with all of our needs. I highly recommend this location, especially if you need a temperature controlled unit. The hours to access your belongings are excellent too!

I just moved out of my 10x20 unit last Saturday. It was a pleasure to deal with this facility from start to finish. The staff was always kind and would great you with a smile and had the answer to all my questions. I would definitely use them again as well as recommend them to anyone I know that is looking for a unit!

This storage facility is wonderful. It is very safe and clean. The manager is very courteous and professional. In addition they have excellent access hours. I am so happy that I chose this facility. I had tried a few other facilities in the past in the area and none were as accomodating and clean to store my belongings.
