I dont go online and write reviews very often but I felt compelled to write this one. Everyone says moving is one of the most stressful things you can do and theyre not wrong. If youre reading this review, it means youre trying to pick a moving company just like my wife and I were a couple of weeks ago. We reached out to Van Express because they were recommended to us by a friend and decided to use them based on that recommendation but also because they were available on the schedule we needed (pick up one day, hold everything and then deliver another day) and their estimate was very competitive but we all know how estimates can be! We felt confident in our decision but the process did not get off to a great start. On the day off the pickup, the job they had in the morning ran long and they were delayed two hours beyond their original arrival time. Loading did not start until 3pm and because the guys were already tired, they didnt finish until around 1030pm. The crew worked diligently though to get everything done even though they were clearly exhausted and we felt happy enough with the way they had worked and taken care of our possessions that we didnt care about the time. On Saturday morning, the crew called as promised to let us know they were 30 mins away and once they arrived, they worked quickly but carefully to get everything unloaded and placed in the correct rooms and all of the furniture reassembled. They worked so efficiently that despite the longer time required to load everything, they did not go over the estimated hours and we paid exactly what we had been quoted. The crew were all very professional, very polite and very courteous throughout the process. Special praise though is reserved for Omar. He was the foreman for both loading and unloading and he was unbelievable. He was calm, patient and in control of the whole process. He communicated any issues that came up very clearly and reviewed every detail with us throughout the move. I really cant say enough good things about him. We had another foreman, Mike, working as part of the crew during the unload too and he was excellent as well. I would recommend Van Express to anyone. If the other crews are anything like the crew we had, then you will be in good hands and if Omar or Mike happen to be the foreman on your move, then you can be assured that they will do anything and everything to make your move a success.

THE BEST MOVERS~! You can see from all of the great reviews here on Yelp, and Google, and Angies list - that Lahzar and his team are the best in the business. VERY PROFESSIONAL! He will pack, load, move, and unpack all in one day if that is what you need. He is inexpensive, trustworthy, and careful with your belongings. They moved my 4 bedroom home in NJ to Virginia. They started on a Saturday morning and I was sleeping in my new house late that night. Nothing was missing or broken. Everything was carefully put back together and placed in the rooms where they belonged. I can actually say that moving was a good experience, due to the fact that Lahzar was with me every step of the way. VERY EASY - NO STRESS! He will come to your home and look at your belongings and quote you on a price. No haggling and no upcharging - just a reasonable price. Once you do the comparisons, you will be happy with what he quotes you. The quote does not change, there is no funny business. Once the job is done and your items are in your new house - then you pay him. There were no credit card or deposits at all. I was moving three dogs and a cat - and I work from home, so I needed my stuff moved in one day so that I could be in my home and operational the very next day. All other movers told me that this was impossible, or they wanted to charge me extremely high rates. Lahzar did the job, did it perfectly, and is very good at what he does. Recently had a move done by them and everything was going smooth until I discovered that one of my furniture peice was damaged during the move. This was an expensive piece and at the time of unloading my furniture the two guys and the owner said that dont worry the insurance will cover your damages. I was not going to pay them unless they put it in writing, that they will cover it, one of their movers also signed this work invoice and ackowledged it...a week later the owner came to my house saying that insurance will only pay .60Cents per pound and they will not cover, so if your item is $10000 but only weights 1lbs you will only get 60 cents from insurance.."""Sounds like a big scam as they dont tell you these things in advance""" but do claim they are fully insured right before booking you. The owner then convinced me that its not a big deal and will have someone repair my furniture so after waiting another week and making an appt the guy makes me wait 2 hrs after our appt time, I had to cancel the appt since they think I have nothing else to do but to wait around for them to show up. The guy who apparently fixes the furniture is busy than the President of United States and real hard to get a hold off. DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY SAY AND ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BOOK THEM, THEY ALL SAY YES BEFORE BOOKING AND NO AFTER THE MOVE!!! BEAWARE OF THEIR SERVICE.

Because I was new to the area, I did a significant amount of online research before hiring a moving company. I decided to give Van Express a shot because of all the positive reviews I found online. While my move wasnt complicated it did involve two stages - moving my belongings into storage and then from storage into my new home. The first stage of my move did not go as smoothly as I would have liked. When I contacted Lazar (the owner) to express my concerns and schedule the second part of my move he explained the source of the issues, let me know what he had done internal to his company to rectify them and ensured me a successful second move. I am happy to report that Lazar delivered on his commitment. His crew showed up on time, were professional and efficient. The main thing to take away from this review is that Lazar values his companys reputation and cares about doing the right thing for his customers. He could have easily brushed of my concerns and I would have had little recourse...he didnt.

Moving is such a stressful experience even in the best of circumstances. We initially hired a different moving company and had the typical bad experience... low ball estimate and then when they showed up they were so shady we told them to leave before they picked up a piece of furniture. I then found VanExpress and spoke with David on the phone. His estimate was on point and he made me feel very secure that they were a company who did what they said, and all on short notice. When the van showed up with Luis, Lester and Alex I knew I hired the right company. They were extremely professional, pleasant and handled our stuff with tremendous care. They took all the stress out of moving day. And most important for me, the company lived up to its word, the timing and price were exactly what David had said... no hidden fees of any sort.
