While updating a utility room, I had my a/c, heater and water heater replaced since the units were getting old and I wanted to lay the new tile floor under where the units would sit. Bovio coordinated with my contractor to take out the old system, wait until the flooring was down and dry and then put in the new system. Everyone was pleasant and it seemed like the new system was working great. They were very helpful when I could not stand the noise of the vented water heater I purchased. No one indicated that it would sound like an airplane taking off in my small split level home. They agreed not to charge me for labor costs to remove it and install a tankless water heater. At that point I would have given them a 4.5. In August, I called to have a service person come out because a piece of ductwork extending into my garage was sweating, causing water to leak onto a storage cabinet. First, Mr. Bovio did not want to send anyone and said it was just because it had been very hot. I explained that I have been in the house for almost 25 years and it has been very hot before but I had never had this problem. Mr. Bovio then agreed that he would send someone out. A serviceman came out on August 19th. The water dripping from the duct as well as dark marks on the wall where water had been absorbed were clearly visible. The serviceman took pictures, looked over the system and left. I have never heard back on this issue. It is now almost two months since they came out. Also, I am pretty sure that the workers who installed the system took pictures which likely show that there was no water damage before the new system was installed. Further, I recently started hearing a very loud grinding noise coming from the motor of the condensation box after liquid is pushed up through the drain hose when the a/c is running. I have not called about this yet. But it is brand new and should not be having any issues. I truly expected to be called back on the sweating duct and figured I would ask about it at that point. I looked at other contractors and decided on Bovio as they advertise that they understand older homes. Mine was built in the 1950s. I asked them to look at the entire system. No one can even tell me why the vent goes through the wall into the garage. They are now a 3 and going down rapidly.

Technician arrived within the prescribed time frame. Was prepared with correct tools and supplies to perform the scheduled work. Completed the work within a reasonable time period. Cleaned up the work site upon completion. My experience of a week ago still stands, however had need to place a service call the other day for leak(s) to be repaired. When the tech arrived he was not trained or qualified to service my boiler....plus he stated that some of the parts needed to correct the leaks where not stocked by Bovio and would have to be ordered (and obviously installed by a trained and qualified tech other than the one they sent out on the call...i.e. problems still not corrected and no know date for resolution (doesnt Bovio know what system/equip. they installed for me....why dont they have the parts, and why did they not send someone out who is qualified to service my equipment?). The only words I can come up with to describe this experience is "total incompetence". This is not the first time the service tech Bovio sent out couldnt or didnt diagnosis and/or fix the problem.....I spent 4 days without heat or hot water this past February (2015) because a) the tech did not correctly diagnosis the problem and, b) Bovio did not stock the part. The real kicker is once the part did arrive 3 days later and installed it did not fix the problem...it took another day and another technician to determine the problem was not the boiler (Bovio still had me pay for the part which wasnt the issue at all) but rather a faulty gas meter which wasnt supplying the proper amount of fuel for the boiler to operate. The gas company came out right away and swapped out the defective meter and the problem was solved. Nevertheless, I was without heat and hot water for 4 days in the middle of winter and it all due to Bovios misdiagnosis of the initial problem. Bottom line, Im done with this company...they cant service what they sell/install and dont seem to know what equipment customers have, dont have sufficient trained/qualified service techs to send out on calls, and dont stock system critical parts to minimize customer downtime and inconvenience. There are too many HVAC businesses out there to meet your needs, you dont need to consider Bovio as one of them. Youve been warned...Buyer Beware!

Bovio serviced our air conditioning unit in the house we purchased. When we moved in there (in the fall) the heat didnt seem to be blowing out enough. We called them and they assured that everything was good because they had just been there to service everything. We took their word for it thinking thats just the way our system worked. Then came the warm days we had an 80 degree day put the air conditioning on and it ran all day staying at 74 degrees. My husband went into the crawl space to look at everything lo and behold it was freezing down there. He inspected the unit & found that the wrong size filter was put in on the unit, & an unsecured blower motor panel door. Instead of calling, since we had no luck with that before, we went into the Sicklerville location. We explained what happened, the woman working the front desk mad many excuses and even went to the back to listen to our phone call when we originally called about the problem. She said it magically wasnt recorded. We went back and forth with her for quite awhile and i finally told her that no one was taking responsibility for the issue. She got the owner to come out who told us they dont install filters so that wasnt their fault, I explained that when i originally called about the issue I should have been told that at that time but on the contrary was told that everything was serviced properly. He also didnt take responsibility for the unsecured panel. He said he doesnt know who could have been down there after them. No apologies no responsibility he just offered someone to come out and look at everything which doesnt help the situation because my husband already fixed it himself. They cane out today and put the right filter in. Thats it done. I explained to the owner if we were average people who didnt know anything about HVAC (which i dont thank God my husbands handy) we would have been charged by them again on something that should have been serviced originally. Lesson learned always DIY and dont trust this company.

I called to have a leak fixed in my water pipe. When Steve came out we went to the water tank enclosure. He said he sees the leak. I could not fit in the enclosure with him so I told him my son temporarily patched the leak with a leak resistant tape. I told him that so he could identify the pipe by the tape wrapped around it and I went upstairs. In the meantime my son came home and went down to talk with him as it is my sons house. Tom explained that he wanted all the copper tubing replaced in that area by PVC since most of the entire basement was previously done. When Steve was finished, my son went down to check and found the original leak was still taped. Steve called you and you said the pipes were attached to the well water tank and you do not do "well work". The original leak is still unresolved and we still need to have the copper pipes replaced with PVC, the cost of which would have been in with the cost of the pipe replacement. Tom paid Steve $229.00 and Steve said a receipt would be emailed, which we havent received yet. I will say this, your response time was great and you were the only one of 5 whom I called that would come out the same day which I very much appreciated. =============================================== Johnathan, the General Manager at Bovios called and explained the cause of the misunderstanding and offered to refund the payment. This kind of attitude shows me there are still honorable people in business today and I will not hesitate to call them again for future service. Thanks John.
