Discovered American Tire and Auto about 2 years ago while pricing out various shops for new tires on my fiances car. I was immediately impressed with Brian and Pauls professionalism, knowledge, and honestly - now my go to spot for any of my vehicles needs. This past week I noticed some problems with my front brake so I brought it in to be looked at. Unfortunately needed new calipers in the front as well as new pads as the ones I installed last summer were fried on one side due to a seized caliper. Unlike the ethics of many other auto shops, Brian explained that my rotors were fortunately salvageable which saved me an additional 200+ dollars to an already unexpected and expensive repair. I also explained that I recently noticed a metallic rattling noise coming from the underside of my car, what I likely thought to be a deteriorated heat shield. Turned out to be a broken clamp which they replaced and fixed for FREE. I highly recommend American Tire & Auto in Westfield for any of your tire or mechanic needs. Refreshing to know there are still honest people out there!

When I moved to Westfield 5 years ago I was worried about finding an honest and reliable mechanic. I am happy to say that that concern was unfounded as American Tire has provided top notch service at affordable prices. A few years I brought an older car I had with radiator problems and they told me it was due to a $40 part. They could have told me anything. I had been bringing my cars to 8 minute oil change in Springfield due to their drive-in service but the last few times, their prices were getting more expensive,especially the last time when they told me I needed a synthetic oil for my CRV. When I brought to car to American Tire , Paul said that wasnt true which saved me about $60. From now on I will call ahead and make an appointment for all of my oil changes it is worth it.

Ive tried the rest and Ive come back to the BEST ! Throughout the many years that I have been bringing my cars to American Tire and Auto, they have consistently ranked top notch in my book. Brian and Paul are very knowledgeable and experienced in the auto service business. They answer questions about issues so that you understand. They are very trustworthy and honest. They do all this at very reasonable prices!! At times I was "forced" to try other auto service places due to time constraints or scheduling, and have always come BACK to American Tire and Auto.....no comparison. They consistently lead the pack! Keep up the good work Brian and Paul and the rest of the crew!

....Going to update the review and ratings previously posted due to some poor recent experiences/shoddy diagnostic work and unnecessary work performed........ "Weve been going to American Tire & Auto in Westfield for 8 years now. They are the most efficient/cost effective and fair auto repair shop weve ever used. Do not use the dealers.............they will save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars versus the dealer or other repair shops over the life of your vehicle. Brian and Paul do an excellent job as service advisors. They always do estimates and take their time explaining the issues and options when they arise. We highly recommend them!"

My wifes van died on her at the grocery store and I quickly called American Tire & Auto in Westfield and was able to get the van right in. This was at the end of the day on Thursday, I was driving it home on Friday early afternoon. They were quick, thorough, and the customer service was top notch. One of the things that I appreciated was that they talked through everything that they were going to do on my car and why they felt that was important. They were not pushy and didnt try to up-sell me on anything. As a "shade tree mechanic" I appreciated that. I will definitely be bringing both of my cars back to American Tire & Auto in Westfield.

I had brought in some new wheels to replace my old ones on my 2015 Camry. I placed two of the wheels in the cabin, behind the front seats. This establishment carelessly removed those wheels and in so doing, put rubber scuffs on three spots on my seat upholstery. I called them back and left a message the same day, as soon as I discovered this, and never got a call back. They are sloppy have no respect for other peoples property. They also asked if I wanted a wheel alignment...on a practically new car with no evidence of tracking or tire wear issues??? These guys are not very honest as well.

I have researched and compared other places prices and quality of parts and no place has come close to American Tire & Auto. We have been using American Tire for over 10 years to service all of our familys cars. We can totally trust American Tire to tell us what is wrong with our cars and feel assured they will not make us pay to fix or replace something that does not need it. We have even had American Tire check out used cards before we purchased them. Their prices are very reasonable.
