I’ve used A1 First Class Movers more times than I can count (500+) and they are an absolute pleasure to work with and exceed my expectations time and time again. I work for a real estate developer in NYC and have worked with A1 on a range of jobs -- from coordinating huge relocation projects and internal moves from one property to another, to smaller scale moves and studio apartment moves. Their price estimates are thorough and accurate (no surprise charges at the end of the move), they are responsive (even on weekends and off-hours) and they understand and treat their customers with respect. The move coordinators take care to explain the insurance policies and to make sure everything is packed in a way that is safe but still cost-effective. Their moving crews are strong, hard-working, professional and personable (I’ve worked with most of them myself!). They handle any issues that arise with respect and truly have your best interest at hand. They handled a somewhat emotionally charged situation with ease and made me look like a rockstar to many frustrated clients that needed to temporarily move into a different property before moving into their final apartment. Who knew moving could be so much fun?! I’ve worked with quite a few different movers throughout the years and A1 is by far the best value, most reliable and provides the highest level of service. They don’t tell you what you want to hear so that you book with them -- they are honest and they are truly the best movers you will find.

This was my first time using a moving company, and A1 strongly exceeded my expectations on my interstate move from NY to PA. From the get-go, I felt like a valued customer. My estimator, Bryan, and relocation coordinator, Heather, were incredibly responsive, friendly, and willing to work with me so that I could pay for just the services I needed and avoid any other charges (there were, in fact, no surprise charges on my final bill--what I saw on the estimate was what I got). And they worked with me to make a competitive estimate. The crew on moving day was professional, friendly, and quite skilled. I did need to submit two minor damage claims (within any reasonable margin of error for such a big project, I think), and my relocation coordinator made reimbursement super easy (no shortchanging, no bureaucracy, and no trouble). I had so many apprehensions about using a moving company after hearing the horror stories about some companies out there--A1 relieved me of all of them by excelling in every way. I shopped around for companies in the NY area, and Ive got to say I couldnt be happier with my choice to use A1.

We had a wonderful residential move with A-1 First Class. From the beginning, they were very professional. We received a detailed estimate and written documentation via email concerning all aspects of the move after discussing it in detail. The moving consultant we were assigned was very responsive and answered any follow-up questions we had via phone and email. The move involved some more difficult items including a piano to be carried down a set of stairs, a large piece of artwork to be packaged on move day and a few sculptures that they arranged to have crated at our home a couple of days prior to the move. Everything went smoothly. On the day of the move, the moving crew was very punctual and arrived 10 minutes early. They were very efficient, courteous and well prepared for all the items being moved/packaged. They even finished before the time that was quoted on their estimate so our bill in the end was adjusted accordingly, AMAZING! A definite “GO TO” for all your moving needs!

I called Adam Alteri on a Wednesday to schedule an emergency move consult and he was able to meet on Thursday. We were able to set up the pack and move dates for less than 2 weeks later. He and his crew - headed by Timur - arrived on time, fully prepared and the move went absolutely seamlessly!! As a Professional Organizer, I am involved in many move managements, yet have never been a part of one where I did not have to stay on top of the crew the whole time to check and double check them during the process....Adam and Timur are the consummate professionals and were extremely successful at putting my client totally at ease during the emotionally overwhelming time of have to move with such short notice - and this is what I am most grateful to them for. The only reason I gave this company 2 stars is because the movers were great guys but I got robbed something serious. My husband was quoted one price but we ended paying double almost triple the amount and we still had to carry some of our belongings in our cars because we couldnt used the entire truck even though we paid extra to have our stuff delivered the next day. Im pretty sure they were going to deliver our stuff the next day anyway but just another way to get more money out of us. The owner would not release our belongings until he had every penny and then tried to charge even more once they got our new home. A bunch of greedy crooks!!!! I would never use this company again and I no way would I recommend them to any one moving long or short distance.

I recently used A-1 First Class Moving & Storage for my move from my house to a condo. Matt and Bryan are the best! As anyone who has done it knows, moving can be a very stressful event. My move-in date kept getting delayed and I was forced to put my things in storage. I was worried about the costs and things getting lost/damaged in transition. Bryan at A-1 eased my mind, made a plan, and took care of all the details for me. The move went smoothly. The moving crew were professional, friendly and efficient and everything arrived in the condition it was picked up. They disassembled/assembled all furniture and even took some heavy things to the garbage for me. I would highly recommend A-1 to anyone planning on moving. You wont be disappointed!

Calling this the worst move of my life is an understatement. They moved us from Brooklyn to Chicago. 1. NO communication about where our stuff was, when it would arrive. 2. DRASTICALLY underestimated the weight of the move causing nearly $1,000 in overages. 3. Sent a truck that was too small so a significant number of things had to be strapped to the outside of the truck. 4. Not surprisingly, they lost a $500 bike. 5. Showed ABSOLUTELY zero compassion about the stress they were causing us until I complained. 6. Ever single person passed the responsibility of the bad move on to someone else. No accountability, no responsibility. I could literally go on for days and have emails, photos and much more to share if you are even considering these idiots.

I recently used A 1 First Class Moving and Storage for an office move where we had to remove a considerable amount of furniture and put it into storage. We were working in a tight timeframe and I was working with Tim Gurtner directly. Tim was attentive to all of my needs and his expertise was very impressive. The crew showed up on time and got right to work. They all seemed to have a different responsibility and worked well together as a team. Considering the amount of stuff they had to load I thought they worked extremely diligently and quick. As the person in charge of office relocations at my company I plan on utilizing A 1 First Classs services again and would highly recommend their services to any company planning an upcoming move.
