Was away in the Caribbean and accidently locked both of my doors, wrought iron storm door and then regular door but only gave the pet sitting company the key to the interior one. Pet sitter of course couldn’t get in to take care of my animal and was trying to reach me but I was already in vacation mindset and didn’t check my phone or messages until the next day. I had to find a locksmith on a Sunday that would basically break in to my apartment without me being there or knowing me at all. Got a hold of Joe and explain my dilemma and that I need them to bust the storm door lock. With a picture ID and matching credit card pic’s we worked it out and my pets were now going to be taken care. What a complete life saver. Can’t thank you enough. JD

If you read any local listservs or boards, you will find a litany of terrible reviews about this awful company. The positive reviews here seem completely fraudulent (just look at how locals have rated them!) and Im sure several (if not all) originate from the same IP address. I recently had my first (and last) experience with this complany via my landlord (who will not be hiring them again either). Shoddy service, no follow-up, no return of phone calls to fix the job they botched - all just as described in many places online. Avoid like the plague - there are much better options in the neighborhood!

Cant say enough good things about All Star. I broke a key off in my Morris style lock and was unable to put it back together after I had removed the broken key. I called All Star and described the situation. They asked that I e-mail a picture of the lock. 10 minutes later they replied and said I would need a new lock cylinder. 30 minutes later they had the new cylinder installed and working. The newer hardware was better quality and had sturdier keys as well. I was also happy they accepted credit cards as payment on the spot. Fast, friendly, knowledgeable, decently priced service. Highly Recommended.

My lock broke and left me locked out of my apartment. All Star said theyd be there within 30 minutes, but took 45. Then they asked for $600 + tax since the mechanism needed to be replaced and it was a lot of work. When I said that seemed to expensive, they went down to $525. I called another locksmith (Kings), which gave a much cheaper quote. I sent the guy from All Star away, after paying the required $40 for the visit. The Kings guy came in 15 minutes, opened the door and replaced the mechanism quickly and efficiently, and charged $395.

Brought in a Schlage door lock to rekey it, having succesfully done a few with another locksmith who was further away. This guy on the other hand takes it apart and tells me it cant be done on this type of lock suggesting i need to buy a new one instead of just telling me he didnt know how to do it. Also, he couldnt put the lock back together after having taken it apart. Driving the extra few miles and going back to M&D Locks and Keys on Beverly.

Allstar Locksmith & Hardware was the best locksmith Ive used and unfortunately Ive had to use more than one. The technician Joey came quickly gave me a very fair price and worked efficiently. I felt very safe and comfortable using this company and would absolutely use them in the future Ive used Allstar Locksmith & Hardware several time in both my old and new house, as well as referred them to many friends and neighbors.

Ive used all-star before to install locks on 2 doors and was very satisfied with the service, recently one of the locks became loose so i called all-star and they were more than happy to come a tighten and adjust it for me even though my warranty had expired a month earlier,Joey is very polite and competent locksmith and would use him again.

Be prepared to pay full price ($45 service fee + $95 lock out fee) even if no actual labor is done on your lock. Customer service on the business end is deplorable. Actual locksmith (John), is knowledgable and friendly but is stuck playing middle man when it comes to final pricing and policies.

It is ok to get a key copied or something small like that, but the person who runs the store can not help you solve problems. The prices are not that great. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, there is plenty other hardware stores in the are.

Quotes one price to me and adds a $100 more to my husband. So rude too.....did a good job on the lock...but i hate people who change prices...........and not being personable while working in a service industry.........ummm whats up with that?

I just had my locks changed this morning. I chose All-Star after researching a bunch of places, and Im confident they are the best in the area. Theyve got fair prices on great hardware and great service. Highly recommended.

I had all the locks changed on my sons apartment. Joey was on time to the appointment, did an excellent job and was gracious too. What a pleasure to find someone so capable. I highly recommend Joey and his company.

Locked out of my apartment. Mr. Butrico arrived in 10 minutes. He had to grind off a high security plate to remove my old lock, replaced it with a better model in less than an hour! Highly recommended.
