Upon moving in I received the internet pricing for my unit. I wasnt sure that I needed such a large unit but was assured that I could always change to a smaller unit later and get the internet pricing. Tony explained later that this isnt possible and whoever told me that gave me the wrong information. I was told Id have 24 hour access to my unit for one day to move my stuff in. I loaded up on stuff and drove up to the gate only to find I couldnt get in. The next day I spoke to Tony who explained, once again, that someone gave me the wrong information. I wasted 80 mins of my time and plenty of fuel for that mistake. In the process of trying to downsize my belongings I was confronted by Tony for accessing my unit too often and for too long (1-3 days a week, 5 mins to 5 hrs). According to Tony it appeared that I was living in the unit. Take note, there are motion sensors in the hallway to keep the lights on. You must step into the hallway and walk a few feet for them to stay on. I had to do this quite often, perhaps he should have checked the cameras to see me moving my belongings in and out. Tony then advised me that if I continued to access the unit too often or for too long I would have to answer to corporate and possibly lose my unit. I was instructed to move my vehicle on more than one occassion by Tony because he couldnt see what I was doing on his surveillance cameras. He explained that the camera doesnt cover the entire parking area and he needs to be able to watch what people are doing. The temperatures on the first floor of the climate controlled building are very unsteady and it is very humid quite often. There appears to be mold growing on the walls and theyve had complaints from customers as to such. I once stood there while Tony tried to pass off mold as dust and told a customer even if it is mold its not the facilitys problem. There is rust along the walls and signs of what appear to be calcium buildups of some kind. A few of my belongings have actually become rusty. I would avoid this place like the plague. Ive never experienced anything like this before. For the amount of money they charge there shouldnt be a single issue with the facility. *Update* I wanted to update this review with some new information. I went ahead and purchased a digital thermometer with a humidity meter. I took readings from multiple locations inside of the climate controlled building. The readings ranged from 74%-78%. After some searching it appears that the reading should not be above 55% for a climate controlled facility. I must add that the building has been much more humid for the past 2 months but I didnt have a meter to measure. With a reading in the high 70s now , Id hate to see what the reading would have been before.

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT!!!!! I would recommend that you choose this facility in Centereach!! It was a great experience with a super friendly and helpful staff. The place was clean, very convenient and easily accessible. We rented a small unit for about 5 months and it was perfect. I checked out some other places and saw dark, dirty, not convenient to get to, overpriced, reports of theft, etc... This place was great and I just cant say enough about the friendly staff always so happy to answer any questions and to help you with a smile which is very rare these days!! There was not any weird stipulations in their contact, very straight forward. I would recommend them to anyone and I would use them again in a heartbeat if I need to. Thanks for the great service!

I just rented a unit from these guys. Ive called a lot of places before deciding to go here because from start to finish Extra Storage was amazing. Starting with the call center guy who worked out a deal for me that was perfect and met my exact needs, and then to both John and Matt that have coordinated everything. John and Matts can do attitude, commitment to customer service and friendliness is what makes me a very happy customer. Great job all around, highly highly recommend.

I just want to say what a great experience I had with the site manager Tony Donofrio. He was very informative, helpful, patience, and caring. He went the extra mile in helping choose a storage unit for our needs, made sure we receive the confirmation with the correct Unit and was very personable and reassured our items would be in good hands.I will definitely recommend this storage facility to others. This is a very well-maintained storage facility inside and out. Matt was so helpful and extremely professional. For me and my daughter, an unexpected move made for a particularly stressful time and finding a clean and safe place to store our possessions was very important. We used the facility truck which was clean and everything (including the a/c) was in working order! Awesome Experience! We are so happy to have the "Extra-Space" we needed.

I have been storing my valuables at this facility since 2009. The current staff is courteous, very friendly and always there to take care of your storage needs. The units are clean, and the facility is well taken care of. All the security measures make me feel safe going to the facility any time of day. They also carry plenty of supplies for packing your special itemsb for storage or moving. Would reccomed them 1000%

Best Storage facility! I am a sales rep on LI and have used many facilities over the years, this location is by far is the best! Matt and John are so helpful and accommodating. I get shipments pretty consistently and they call me right away to let me know a package has arrived for me. They will also hold them if I am not available right away for pick up. True professionals! I was able to tour the facility and John spent the extra time to show me how to properly use the key pads. I highly recommend using Extra Space Storage.
