Used to direct my friends and family to this shop when I did not have time to work on their vehicles in my spare time. They are one of the few shops I actually had trust in, and were very knowledgeable about several makes ane models.... however.... Recently they have gotten overly expensive, diagnostics have gotten poor, and wrong oil has been used in vehicles. Not sure what is going on.... but I have now pointed friends and family elsewhere. A few examples.... A Mass Air Flow Sensor, Toyota Camry. They charged $600 parts and labor (including a "research fee" for a popular online database for repairs(iATN). The markup on the part was ridiculous. The sensor could be found locally, easily for $94. The part could have been replaced in 5 minutes. Another incident, and I will leave the car brand out. Car was having random no-start issues. Car would jump start fine (they would come to jump it). Instead of testing/replacing battery first, Precision pushed to replace the starter. In the end, the battery (factory original, Hello!) was the problem. And a third... Check Engine light on vehicle... Precision stated o2 sensor and Catalytic converter needed to be replaced in excess of $2000. The real fix? A $5 vacuum hose. (A 5 minute google search could have even told them this, let alone the iATN board) Not to mention 5w20 oil was being used in a vehicle which required 10w30 to 10w40. Final thoughts... with their prices, backwards troubleshooting, and over $90/hour for labor. Your better off going to the dealership, or a shop dedicated to fixing your brand car. They will know your car and will not have to charge you for "research" as they will know your vehicle. It seems as this shop may now be in a little over their head.

I have used these guys for years, and have always had excellent service. They will go over all options in a way that is very easy for someone like me, who knows very little cars, to understand. Their service is always done quickly and with the best quality. My most recent experience with them has been amazing. My car ended up having enough wrong with it that it was basically a pile of scrap metal. They did give me several options that would have kept the car on the road for a year or a few years. Unfortunately, none of the options was affordable for me at the time. I never felt any pressure to even do the least expensive option. In fact, as soon as I told Fred that I had decided to scrap it, he said he understood, and the discussion of maybe fixing it was over. This just shows that they think of what is best for their customers, not what will be best for their bottom line. They gave me a courtesy car while they went over the car, then called me with the details. I then looked into what to do with the car, which Fred even offered to help me with. The option I decided to go with meant I wouldnt be able to get the car until the next day. Not only did he say they wouldnt charge me for leaving the car there overnight, Fred even allowed me to keep the courtesy car for one more day. The phrase he used several times was "we can do that if it helps you out." I really cant say enough about how much I appreciate the way these folks do business. I guess the best way to sum it all up is to say that they have definitely earned a customer for life. Thanks to everyone at Precision, you guys really are the best in the area.

The radiator went on my 2002 Audi A4 while I was in the middle of relocating to Binghamton for work. Several people recommended Precision and when I called, they were very knowledgeable about my make and model (it is a very finicky car). Being new to the area, several people also told me Precision was a little pricey. I think this next part is very important for those wondering if the extra cost is worth it. I can tell you it is absolutely worth it. Not only did Precision fit me in knowing my situation, they provided a loaner car for the duration of my car being in the shop (which included a weekend). The loaner was very clean and I only had to pay for gas. Precision saved me the hassle of renting a car and incurring that extra cost at a time when I was house hunting and starting a new job. Their staff knows European cars very, very well and that experience is hard to come by, even at dealerships these days. They are very friendly and do a great job explaining repairs and costs and also make recommendations for other repairs possibly needed down the road but are not pushy at all. So Precision is a great value for excellent customer service and workmanship.

When my car refused to start and left me stranded at a gas station, I found Precision Automotive during a desperate internet search to find ANYONE in the Owego NY area that didnt ask me who makes Mini? Precision reassured me they had experience with Minis and could get it into the shop for diagnostics the next day. Initial diagnostics took longer than expected - turned out to be a main engine computer issue. However, once they got to the bottom of the problem, Precision Automotive contacted the nearest Mini dealer, ensured that the computer engine repair would be covered under my manufacturers warranty and drove my car to and from the dealership (3 hours away). The entire experience (diagnostics, transporting the car, repair, etc) still ended up costing a bundle, but the bottom line is they took the time to make sure the issue was resolved, handled transporting the car 3 hours away, AND gave me a loaner car to use while my vehicle was in their shop. Precision Automotive made my life easier by dealing with the major issues, and to me, it was worth the money. I plan on bringing my Mini back to this shop if needed.

Repair Problem Bad Service. You should expect excellent service for $96.76 per hour for labor. But if anything goes wrong -- good luck. My coolant leaked after getting a simple cooling system flush. I found out the next day when started my car and my coolant lamp was on. This never happened. I took it in the following day and come to find out the coolant hose was not placed back in correctly (by the mechanic), which caused the coolant to leak from the hose. A hole was burned into the hose because it was exposed to the water pump belt while the car was running. You can literally see the coolant dripping from the bottom of the car when it was turned on and sitting idle for a minute. They fixed it. But note that it was their problem, not mine. In the process of repairing it, their service drastically changed to like you were the scum of the earth. Then they had the nerve to try to charge me extra for the extra coolant to fill it back up to full and tried to charge extra for stupid hose claps. Incredible! I wouldnt have written this review if it wasnt for their bad attitude.

On nov. 28 my son and I were driving home to Bangor, Pa. from a hunting trip. My son lives in Phila. and had to be at work the next morning. My pick-up truck broke down and we were stuck 3&1/2 hrs. from home. we were towed in to Precision and were fearing the worst because my truck is rather old.We were approached by the owner Mr. Jon Ludwig and after explaining to him our dilema he immediately reassured us that he would be able to look at it and try to get us back on the road as soon as possible. He then personally took the truck into his garage and found the problem in minutes, repaired it, and had us back on the road .His calm demeanor , professionalism, and kindness were something you just dont see much of these days.My son and I spent some time talking to him afterwards and we spoke about our families and our backrounds, and just the way things are today. I asked him how much I owed him and he said Nothing! Just have a safe trip home.If I lived anywhere near this mans buisness I would be his lifetime customer.
