If I wanted to look like somebody to beat up and take lunch money from, I would have gotten somebody having a seizure to give me a bowl cut. The haircut I got from here is a literal crime against humanity. It is the single worst violation of the Geneva Convention since the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam. For whatever reason, my hairdresser decided that the space between my ear and my hair needed to be a World War 1 style trench warfare no-mans land. In what world would somebody want a haircut that gets trimmed an inch away from your ear? When the atrocity was being perpetrated, I did not initially notice. When I finally did catch a gander of the damage, I turned my head slightly to marvel at the degree to which my hair had been flayed back. At this point, my hairdresser broke the awkward silence that had formed since the beginning of the haircut and asked, "Do you have a compulsion or something? You keep looking to the side.". No, I do not have a compulsion. Im just impressed that you managed to make my hair look like the Amazon rainforest after it gets clear-cut. The space around my ear genuinely looks like Georgia after General Sherman marched to the sea during the American Civil War, salting the earth so that nothing would ever grow again. Furthermore, in what world is it okay to ask whether or not somebody has a compulsion? What does that even mean? Would you go up to somebody with dark glasses, a cane, and a seeing eye dog and ask them if theyre blind? Do you look at people with Downs Syndrome and question them? After the haircut, you asked me what I thought about it. I mentioned that it was pretty far off my ear, at which point you aggressively retorted "Well, I cant exactly put it back on". Look, I know you cant reattach hair. This isnt the Harry Potter world where you can magically wave a wand and reattach it and, even if it was, youd be a squib. Look, I know you did a bad job, you know you did a bad job, just take responsibility and say so. Two stars because Ive come here before and gotten haircuts that could be considered decent. Ive never walked away and been fully satisfied with my haircut but theyve always been okay. After today, however, when I walked away with a trim that makes it look like my hair is afraid my ear is a serial killer, I dont think Im going to come back.

DO NOT CUT YOUR HAIR IN THIS PLACE. This hair salon is extremely unprofessional and rude, the hairdresser is 16mins late for the appointment which is not acceptable, and when he came in he did not apologies for the late. When I sit on the chair and started cutting, I ask to take an inch off, when he started shove that hair, I said " that might be a bit too much", and the hair dresser tell me "GET OFF THAT CHAIR". I understand that the length he take off is less that one inch, but i am just expressing my concerns. While his attitude is extremely rude, i asked him if i could swift an hair dresser, he said "NO". So I have to leave the salon with a part of my hair chopped off. I have never been treated like this is any hair salon. I am not sure if they treat me like this because I am an Asian. And I could even image this happens in College Town at Cornell University.

I went in to get my hair re-colored and trimmed. I showed the guy a picture of the color I wanted, and what I got instead was a dirt-colored, unnatural, hideous result. The 1-inch trim turned into them taking off 4 inches and leaving me with the most hideous hairstyle. The next day I had to go to a different salon to repair the damage. In all I spent nearly $100 here for the most awful hair. I definitely wouldnt recommend this place, especially if youre female, because they will butcher your hair.

This hair salon isnt anything special, but they do simple cuts (trim hair and trim side-swept bangs) well and I look great afterwards! I dont do anything fancy here or even layers here though, so Im not sure how well they actually handle anything more than trims. I do agree with the other reviewer that one of the guys here looks kind of sketchy, so I try to get the woman (dont know how many people work there), but everyone cuts well enough for me in any case.

The price was right for the service. I went on a Sunday morning and paid $10, but I would have rather gone somewhere and paid a few more dollars for a stylist who actually listened to me. I very clearly asked for a scissor cut with an inch off, but the stylist would not listen and used the buzzer anyway. For $10, its good, but the whole time I felt like I was being rushed though, and it didnt feel very nice. I will not return here.

Ive been going here for about a year and a half and ask for Nicholas every time, although everyone else is very friendly too...Nicholas just happened to be the first stylist I had so I stuck with him because he is wonderful, talented, helpful and probably the nicest stylist Ive ever had. The shop is clean and upbeat. The price for a cut is super cheap (surprising for being located in Collegetown). I highly recommend New York Studio 108!

These guys are great. I took advantage of the 12$ cuts before noon deal and ended up with a great look. The service is friendly, courteous, and professional and the place is conveniently located in the middle of College Town, right next to the parking garage. I personally intend to go back and I definitely recommend Studio 108 to anyone in Ithaca, whether you are a student or a townie like me.

Fast service, stylist listened closely & gave me exactly what I wanted (trim for medium-length curly hair that I am trying to grow out). Lots of good hair care tips & advice too, gracious with questions, great service, clean shop, stellar experience, great place, would recommend, thx. P.S. I did not see anyone who looked strung out on heroine, so that was also a plus. Great job!

I went here twice because it was close and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The first time, my hairdresser smelled strongly of cigarettes and actually missed two spots making my haircut noticeably uneven, very bad. I went again because I was in a rush and didnt have time to go any where else, similar experience and terribly uneven haircut. Would not recommend.

Avoid at all costs. Rude, inexperienced, condescending, didnt listen to a word I said, walked away with a terrible haircut, will take months to regrow. Never have I been so displeased. I went out of my way to write a review for this place in hopes that people avoid this place.

Ive gotten my hair cut here for just about 10 years now and have really never had a bad experience. Perhaps its due to the stylist - Ive *always* asked for Wayne. It is inexpensive if you go at certain times, and the staff have always been friendly to me.

The one reviewer wasnt lying..Some strung out junkie completely butchered my hair. I honestly dont know how they let that guy cut peoples hair. I went in for a trim to keep my long hairstyle and ended up having to buzz it all off because it was so bad.
