I normally support my mothers computer service needs, but since I live out of state and was very busy at the time, I suggested she go to a local company for a diagnosis of a hardware issue. Unfortunately this company took advantage of her. They were unable to properly diagnose the computer, and she had to wait nearly two weeks just to get the runaround about this or that not working. Unbelievably, after failing to fix her computer they somehow convinced her to buy a different refurbished one from them. She spend over $400 with them and got a computer that was the same age, yet they lied that it would be faster. It had a downgraded i5 processor instead of i7, a much smaller screen (not good when they have a hard time seeing), and a lower screen resolution. As a kicker, and telltale sign of a shady computer company, they installed an illegally licensed corporate copy of Microsoft Office on her replacement computer. As the product manager of my own IT company in Iowa (not a competitor, out of state), I am well versed in the Microsoft Licensing terms. Unfortunately I was not there to witness the conversation, but through some measure of lying they were able to convince my mother to spend $400 on a downgraded computer with counterfeit software, when the computer repair would have cost only $50 in parts had I done it myself.

I was continuously interrupted and pushed to the side when other customers showed up...and the place isnt even that big. I needed something mailed to me which never came, and waited 30 minutes for a simple fax. The man running this place has no concept of phone etiquette. He took numerous calls WHILE on the phone with me, even carrying on a conversation with his doctor on another phone without telling me or putting me on hold. On other calls I was interrupted and practically hung up on while trying to finish a sentence. I am blown away by their rude and/or complacent behavior and how utterly unimportant this company made me feel. The experience should have been simple and short, but drug on for weeks and weeks when all I needed was an invoice. Ill never go back.

I recently returned home from vacation and found that my iMac was not working. I brought it into Connecting Point the next morning, who informed me that my hard drive had died. I dealt with John, who quickly diagnosed the problem, and ordered the new drive (from Apple) for me immediately. The computer was fixed within two days, earlier than promised. John worked to restore all of my data from a back-up HD (that I had found somewhat balky), and I was able to have my computer restored to pre-crash functioning within three days. Service at Connecting Point was fast and thorough. I would highly recommend their services, especially for those seeking to avoid a trip to the Apple store in Syracuse for repairs.

I find these guys very helpful. When I cant fix a problem, They can. I live an hour away and often they work around the fact that a trip to their store and back home takes a couple of hours. I trust them. They are very professional.

They are the only only authorized Apple repair place in the area and it shows. They do good work if you can get them to start the job. Getting them to return your call is another another story....
