A few months ago, I accidentally clicked something in my Outlook program that deleted all of my calendar entries, my outlook notes and my contacts. Needless to say I started to panic and fear, anger, frustration and helplessness set in and started to plague my entire physical and mental and emotional being with just one click! Then in flight mode, things got way worse from there as I tried to undo whatever I did, by myself. Woody is a computer God! Not only did he make himself available to me outside of business hours, he stayed connected to me while I followed his instructions step-by-step on how to fix my error(s), just in case he needed to proxy in to make any additional changes. He literally saved my professional life and my personal state of well being. There are no words to explain my gratitude. Thank you Woody, for your brilliance, for your extraordinary ability to perform your work remotely and for being able to calmly and professionally handle a customer who has spiraled into a powerless tizzy. I hope you felt my hug through the screen all the way from Pennsylvania!

We moved here in January 2013; somehow during the process, my wifes destop computer, w/Windows XP operating system, failed to power up. We have & use a more up-to-date laptop w/Windows 7 for internet connect; we kept this desktop because my wife uses it for her My Pictures files. Shes most familiar w/XP for this purpose. So, we didnt want to stick a lot of $$ into its repair, but would still like to use it. I got on the www. for Asheville and found 2 places that interested me; I chose to go to Computer Mechanix, after a phone conversation with both places. Woody seemed most trustworthy. I got it to him on mid-day on a Wednesday; he understood about us not wanting to spend much on its repair. B4 I got down the street to home, I got a call from Woody and word that the unit was all fixed. Repair was limited to replacing the power supply...cost <$100. We were pleased with his speedy service and consideration of our limited cost line on its repair. So, in our experience, we rate Computer Mechanix an A.

Top recommendation!! From answering my initial inquiring phone call to returning my repaired laptop only one day later, Woody provided fantastic service. I chose him over other highly reviewed computer services because of how he answered my questions to begin with, and because he offered the fastest projected repair time (he returned my repaired computer in less time than the others quoted for just doing diagnostics!). I depend on my laptop for business, and was at a loss when it slowed down horribly and eventually overheated and crashed completely. Woody listened, explained clearly and carefully things it could be, then proceeded to follow through and quickly fix it perfectly for a very reasonable price. He also sells refurbished computers, tablets and smart phones. It is a great relief to know that Woody is there and I will surely turn to him in the future!

I was in Asheville for a few days and of course, my computer decides it doesnt want to have me log in anymore! As the only log in (and the administrator) of the computer, I was miffed. So I used Google on my phone to find Computer Mechanix. I filled the online form to make an appointment and the next day I was contacted. I could bring my computer in that day. It was fixed and ready to go that day. (I filled the form at night, after business hours, brought the computer in at 2 pm and it was ready before 5 pm) The cost was less than a quote I saw on a competitors web site. Woody was really nice and answered other questions when I picked up the computer. I would most certainly send friends and family to Woody at Computer Mechanix.

Woody has been working on my computers for about six years. I have always found him to be reliable, dependable, and professional. The work is always done right. He gives me great advice about what he can fix and what is best to replace, simply because its so very old and outdated. (After 6 years, it should be! replaced) He initially came to my home or office to work on my computer. Now he has a convenient office in West Asheville where I can drop off my computer and then pick it up once it is fixed. Works for me!

Fast service, reliabilty, and cost efficiency are just three of the amazing qualities to be had by this repair guy. I have had my screen replaced, and my hard drive replaced within one month, and this man gave excellent advice along the way. If you prefer dealing with small, local crafts people then this is your best bet. Charlotte Street computers will charge you an 80 dollar diagnostic before they even let you know the problem; this shop will not.

neighbors recommended woody to us and we have used him several times, mostly for our old computer, and also when we bought an i pad and needed important advice and guidance on how to integrate it with our computer. woody has always been prompt and thoroughly professional, with reasonable prices for his expertise. he is prompt, knowledgeable, and patient with folks who havent absorbed a lot of recent technology. we recommend him highly .

I have used Computer Mechanix for years. Woody comes to my home/office and repairs or tunes up my computers whenver I need him. He is prompt, efficient and always fixes the problem. I trust him to help me decide what I need in a computer when I need to replace one and usually buy it through Woody, although at times he has just directed me to the best place to get what I need if it wasnt through Computer Mechanix.

I am new to Asheville and as sometimes happens, my computer crashed. I took it to Woody at Computer Mecanix. To my surprise, I got it back the next day...working better than it ever did. I give Computer Mecanix an "A+" for quick, efficient computer repair...and it wasnt overly expensive. I just dont think you can do any better than Computer Mecanix. Youll be pleased with Woodys work.

Very professional and efficient! They worked quickly and were nearly half the cost of competing shops around town. I was having overheating problems and needed my fan cleaned, they were very helpful and informative. They had no unnecessary expensive ($60-$80) diagnostic test like other stores (Charlotte Street Computers) make you purchase. I will definitely come back in the future.

I originally was going to chose Sassys Computers because not many people in Asheville do hardware repair on Macs but the owners of Sassys computers was horribly rude, just rude. And so we looked around and found Woody at Computer Mecanix and he was 20x better in price and customer service so I will always recommend him to anybody who asks and never ever go to Sassys Computers.

I was about to give up on my computer when my daughter suggested that I give Computer Mechanics a try. I am so glad that I did! They removed bugs and got me going again. He also took the time to help me understand what I was doing incorrectly and am now doing correctly! As a senior citizen who is barely computer literate I am happy to have found the help I needed.
