ALMOST FLIPPED MY SUV BECAUSE OF LACK OF MAINTENANCE ON THEIR TRAILERS (Uhaul rental facility). I have hauled trailers 16+ yrs ...usually 16-23 foot boats, up to multicar trailers/heavy machinery. In terms of the non-commercial "diy moving" cargo trailer rentners, Id like to think this amount of experience puts me above most non-commercial drivers in terms of pulling a trailer. A month ago, I rented a 6x12 trailer one-way from KY to NC, from a large center in KY without significant problem. I then rented the same size trailer from this location...a smallish rent shop in Cary, NC to take round trip along the same route. Immediately I noticed the trailer swaying more than I would expect unloaded at sub-highway speeds. The swaying was not sufficient to alter the course of my 2015 Nissan Xterra Pro-X (a relatively large manual transmission 4-wheel drive SUV - which has always handled well, albeit a bit top heavy). Knowing a light trailer tends to sway more than a properly loaded trailer, I was not particularly concerned. I then loaded the trailer with approximately 750 lbs of couches, and tables (tables towards the front half of the trailer, approximately 400 lbs - couches and flat screen TV extended from mid to back, approximately 350 lbs, and the lighter box springs/mattresses were secured on top of the pile relatively evenly distributed. I reach 50 mph, at which point I experienced some sway, though not severe. I slowed down, stopped, checked the trailer, and reentered the highway. I then reached 54 mph on a slight descent, at which point the trailer began to sway (progressive oscillatation) more and more violently (the rear of the trailer fishtailing from lane to lane) - to where the Xterra was being pulled heavily side to side and was losing control and headed quickly towards a severe accident/flipping (this occured while holding off brake/gas and progressing to light gas and no braking). Feeling that I was headed towards flipping, I then dumped the gear into 3rd and hit the gas heavily... the combination of engine braking and forward acceleration broke the sway. I contacted Uhaul which told me that improper loading and excessive speeds was the root of the problem (neither was the case, but I did reload several times, even adding sand bags to weigh the front, with no significant improvement). I then called a CDL licensed friend who pulls rigs daily, who then advised me to evaluate the leaf springs ... this is what they looked like (see pictures)... In his words "that trailer is not safe to be on the road with that suspension"... Knowing that this Uhaul center wasnt going to help, I drove 40-45 mph white knuckled in 3rd gear, making my 7 hr drive 13 hours. Once I arrived to the Uhaul station, I tried to tell the employee about the problem.... she simply kept repeating "SIR, THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO"... I tried to politely explain "Im not even asking for a refund at this point, I just want to make sure the suspension gets repaired prior to the next rental" (it took everything to be polite, but I didnt want some family dying because of I looked just like some exaggerating angry customer looking for a refund ). Despite my pleas, the trailer was simply put back on the lot, to have another chance and maiming or killing its renter. Curious, I then evaluated my own trailers - at most minimal surface rust on the springs despite 6-10 yrs of weathering. They never sway at speeds ~65 mph (pushing it, but if you are keeping 60, sometimes you hit 65)... much faster than I was pulling the Uhaul... Further, the boats are HEAVILY back weighted.... though they drive without any problem.... changing an outboard engine (+/- 200 lbs) or removing it (-300/400 lbs), ...makes absolutely no difference. Then I read the LA Times investigation "Driving with rented risks" (google it), and I realized how close I was to being one of many Uhaul casualties. Beware of Uhaul, and please please DO NOT RENT from any location such as this one which carries equipment that has hardly, if ever, been maintained.

I was in search for a manpower assistance for a move. I checked Google and Yelp and Cary Moving Center was highly recommended. I decided to give them a call, and I had the misfortune of speaking with Elizabeth. The call started off with putting me on hold for over 5 mins and then the fun began. Elizabeth has zero customer service skills, and totally lacked any professionalism. I felt like I was walking her through the process of what to ask me as the customer. When Elizabeth did ask a question it was done with a snarky tone and attitude. I was interested in a pretty decent transaction with their company until I spoke with this horrible little girl. I was looking to hire four men to move furniture from my home to a moving truck for at least 3 hours. I know this is not a great deal of money however, it was change either. I asked to speak to a manager and I was told he was on the property somewhere. I asked for the call takers name and asked again for a manager. Because of Elizabeths crappy customer service I cancelled my transaction. I suggest to the owner of this small business get rid of this child quickly before see causes you to loose more business. Lets be clear I will never go to a business that does not value me as a customer. I wish could give less than one star!!!!

My husband and I just wanted to let Cary Moving know how great of a job Chuck and Wayne did for us this past weekend with our move!! They did an amazing job! They arrived 30 minutes earlier than expected. The experience and know-how was evident throughout the entire move. Both guys were smooth, efficient and very friendly from beginning to end. We were very grateful for this due to the fact we had some heavy items and it was a hot day. Now I understand why the references we were provided spoke so highly of Cary Moving and recommended them. We will most certainly do the same if anyone we know needs a company in the future. Elizabeths assistance along the way was greatly appreciated as well to prepare us for the move months and weeks leading up to our date! We really appreciate it.

I called and scheduled them to move a month prior to the move date. They provided a quote and told me to follow up with them to officially book the move which I did the day after the quote was provided. I called one week prior to the move to confirm and they told me I had never followed up. I looked up my call records and verified the date, time and duration of the call and then provided them with this information. They told me I hadnt called despite the call records and refused to schedule movers citing they were booked. I demanded to speak to the owner; I never received a call back. This is by far the worst customer service I have experienced to date.

I couldnt be happier with the service Cary Moving provided yesterday. They were easy to work with to get an estimate and right on time the day of the move. I was so worried because we only had 5 very large items that needed to be moved onto brand new hardwood floors. They were sensitive to my concerns, extremely professional and carried every item by hand until it was carefully placed onto the exact spot - including a piano!!!! My only regret is that we didnt hire them to move the items out while the floors were being refinished. I have moved numerous times in my life - this team was the best.
