I read through a majority of the reviews prior to writing this, and I do not know if my experience was a fluke or what, but it definitely was not 5 stars. The only reason this review does not get 1 star is that the quality of work was excellent and my car appears brand new. If we were rating quality of craftsmanship, it would be 5 stars hands down, but... Quality of service gets 1 star. I took my car in for repair close to a month ago for the free inspection, this would have been the week of August 10th. At that time, I specifically asked what the timetable was for replacement as I did not have rental coverage as part of my insurance plan. They stated 7 business days, which seemed reasonable based on the other quotes I received. Thomas (the salesperson) stated he would call me when the car was ready. 7 business days passed and on the 8th day I gave Thomas a call. He answered and told me they ran into some difficulties in getting the parts, and that it would be another 2-3 business days. So I waited again...no phone call by that 3rd business day passing. I called again to see what was going on. He then told me it should be ready in 2 business days and that Friday was the only day he could get the appointment to have the windshield properly replaced. Trying to be understanding still (because I am in sales too, and understand the difficulties outside of ones control) I waited, and received no phone call once again. I call that following Tuesday and frankly ask, "Thomas, whats going on with my car man? This is the third time I have had to call you to find out why it is not ready." This time, he told me the paint gun had broken the day before and they had not yet received the parts necessary to repair it, but that it should be by the end of the week. FOURTH TIME calling in after another deadline slipped through Maacos fingers, and the story goes that mine was in line to be painted but it had not yet been completed. I wait another WEEK this time, and call again to be told finally my car is ready. I was honestly expecting to hear that the building had burned down, the rapture had happened, or a dog ate the part they were waiting on for the paint gun. So there you go, 5 different deadlines, constantly pushed back due to circumstances. All I can say is that at least if I received a phone call on those days I was expecting to hear about my car, I would have been much more understanding and satisfied with their level of customer service. Again, maybe it was a fluke in my case, but I will never be returning to Maaco, or recommending it to any of my friends.

Here is the bottom line of the story if you are looking for a quick feedback: This place is probably the worst body shop in the town and you should avoid it at all costs! Here is why: I have taken my car to this body shop seven weeks ago after a rear-end collision. The adjuster at my insurance company estimated that the repairs would take 7-8 days and the guy at Maaco initially told me that the repair would take two weeks. I was okay for waiting a couple days more despite paying Enterprise a hefty rental price. After two weeks, Maaco asked for an extension, which I again said okay. Then, in the last five weeks, they asked for 5 more extensions! Today, I went there again to see the car and, after seven weeks, there is practically no work done on the car! They just ordered the parts and filed a supplement (four weeks ago) to the insurance company. I have contacted the Maaco HQ and filed a complaint on BBB. I hope I can get my car back soon. The moral of the story is that anyone should keep away from this place. Never and ever do business with these guys!

"Uh oh, better NOT call Maaco". In addition to the extreme timeframe issues I now see by other dissatisfied patrons, they painted my vehicle not only the wrong color but left paint marks covering the interior. If I could post pictures here no one would ever have their car painted at Maaco of Durham. My initial primary issue was being told 4-5 days. I left my vehicle with them for 8 business days, EIGHT. When I called to check up I was told an additional day. The following day I was told the same thing. Finally told to come by 9:45 the third (late) day- I even called that morning to confirm. Showed up and waited until 11:30. How does a business which simply paints cars have no idea how long the process will take? To have the nerve to lie and say a time to come when it isnt ready, is terrible business. Called corporate and was told to take it up with this location. Completely useless.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!! They do not properly paint and you will have to take it to a real professional after Maaco crews your car up. I took my truck there. 2 weeks after getting it back the paint started to peel. I took it back to them and they admitted it was because they didnt take the fenders off (like you are supposed to). They said I would have had to pay extra for that, but they never gave me the option. They said I would have to pay them for them to correct their mistake. They are extremely rude and absolutely do not stand behind their work. I also noticed they sprayed inside the truck. How do you even do that?! I filed a complaint with The Better Business Bureau. Seriously, they are not professionals. Do not waste your time and money here.

This review is based on customer service. Brought a car in on a Thursday after we were told the earlier the better to get it done quickly. It would be 3-5 business days......Only to find out they didnt start working on it until Tuesday (4 business days later)! Blamed it on parts getting delayed getting there. Was never given option to prepay and preorder parts to avoid paying for rental car for an unnecessary time even though I was told I should have been. Basically paid 5 days of car rental while car say on their lot.... Need to get their scheduling right....doesnt matter what kind of work you do if you cant manage time properly!

Terrible Service. We brought our van in for a basic paint job. We were called back to get the van with runs in the paint, overspray on the vehicle and molding missing. They said that they would take care of it. They called me a 2nd time to pick it up and there was black overspray paint on a white vehicle. I was told that it was not detailed. So I left to pick it up another day. The van STILL has black overspray on the vehicle but we just wanted the van back. I was compensated by them with a 25.00 discount. That was laughable. They said it was the best they could do. I would NEVER recommend this company.

I recently went to the Durham location and couldnt be happier, my car was in pretty bad shape, the paint was faded and had completely diminished in some areas, we waited so long to get it painted because weve been considering getting a new car all together, our estimator Rhett Vernon was wonderful, he only recommended what we needed, the price was more then fair and the work is perfect. We will be back with one of our other vehicles very soon, and have recommended this maaco location to others. I would like to thank you for your excellent customer service and professionalism.
