If you value your time and money and auto DO NOT EVER EVER GO TO THIS MEINEKE.We had family take there auto here for over heating for they were far from home when this happened. This shop had the car and charged 800 00 something and said it was ready .When we arrived and started the auto it could not even get out of there parking lot it completely died. Now maybe its just me but does not a auto shop drive a auto after fixing it to make sure its running??? NOT THIS SHOP . After going into the shop and letting them know the car died in the lot the mechanics scattered like roaches not one would address us. The manager said he would be right out . As 55 minutes past while we waited for the manager ,he came out . He then went on to tell us it could be a hundred other things and alot more money . ???WHAT DID YA NOT SEE THIS THE FIRST TIME OR DO YOU ALWAYS COLLECT 800.00 AND LEAVE A CUSTOMER IN THE PARKING LOT FOR 55 MINUTES THEN SLITHER OUT . Needless to say the car had to stay and the next day we returned. This time the manager made it clear he stayed till 9 pm fixing the car ummm if it would of been fixed the first time he would not had to stay to begin with. Then He wanted more money and then we called the police after this same manager told a 80 year old grandfather to get out of his shop and he was keeping the auto till the credit card cleared as the payment was stoped till the car was fixed right. This manager had a temper tantrum and said now I want cash. The police said no that the charge went through but was temporarily frozen because of the auto not fixed right the first time. The following Monday this same store not only took the first 800.00 on the credit card but then ran it through again for another 800.00 .we he was called on it he threatened that hes not reversing the second charge and if we keep it up he will total our card out. Needless to say the bank stoped the second charge and the police report was made . STAY AWAY FROM HERE NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU MAY BE.... ALSO FYI THEY HAVE TWO SETS OF PRICES ONE FOR LOCALS AND ONE FOR OUT OF TOWN CUSTOMER THAT IN ITS SELF TELLS YOU SOME THING

Spent almost two grand on parts and labor over the last month while having my truck fixed at Meineke. Was told every time I came that the parts I needed to replace were what was causing my issues. First it was a full tune-up that was needed--the spark plugs and wire set all needed to be replaced and a fuel cleaning service needed to be done. Still misfiring on three cylinders. Then I replaced the ignition coils. Still misfiring. So then I was told by three different mechanics that the catalytic converter was broken or clogged and that that was my true problem. Replaced that and what do you know, my truck is still misfiring and running terrible. The mechanics have lied every time Ive gone to pick up my vehicle about it being fine to drive / that they drove it and it was fine. They have no proper way to diagnose vehicle issues as their scanner is broken. I was told face to face by a mechanic each time as I paid that they had driven the vehicle personally (usually told it was driven for five miles or left running for half an hour, or both) and that it was driving fine for them with no Check Engine Light on. And every time I went out, as soon as I started the truck, it was still shaking violently. Why do I have to become a mechanic just to figure out whats wrong with my own truck, especially when Im paying for new parts I was told were going to fix it? How can you even run a car shop at all with a broken diagnostic scanner device? Feel free to stop by if you have thousands of dollars to install new parts over old parts that dont need to be replaced or if youre a trained mechanic that knows how to diagnose exactly whats wrong with your vehicle but arent able to put the parts in yourself and want to not have access to your vehicle for a few days.

If I could give 0 stars I would. On vacation brake line broke. Charged me $554.04 on 8/13/14 for a repair that my hometown guy said no more than 150-175 (okay but its a vacation location so you know youre going to pay a premium). Then they call back and tell me I need a $2,000.00+ complete brake replacement, that my vehicle is unsafe. Not buying this because my hometown guy always goes over my Excursion before we leave, I say no thanks. They say fine, but its your kids lives youre taking chances with (if we cant talk you into the scam, well trying scaring you into the scam). After I decline the "necessary" work they tell me my truck wont be ready that day, next day they call me 10 minutes before closing to tell me its ready, knowing were 8 miles away at MP 17. Thinking they would strand me without a vehicle one more day, didnt work, I paid over the phone and picked my truck up that night with spare keys. Wasnt going to bother reviewing, but truck went in for routine service today, oil change and inspection, asked about the brakes, 60% left on front and 50% left on back. These are the same brakes that were completely gone(according to those "hospitable, honest, kind, gentlemen") 5 months and 25,000 miles ago. When we were checking out of our house I mentioned all this to our realtor, they said oh no you should have called us we would have told you not to go there. Just a piece of advice for vacationers in need of a service, call the realtor for the house and get a local recommendation, they live there year round and know the reputations of the businesses. Then I realized how it all fits, when the year round residents wont patronize your business, you have to scalp the vacationers for all you can.

I was recently in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina on a business trip. My car started making a grinding sound coming from the passenger side of my Acura. I stopped at the Meineke Shop and opened my hood. I was trying to figure out what was wrong, and a mechanic from the shop came out and asked if I was okay. He assured me that I was in the right place to get some help. It turns out that the power steering pump was bad and so was the flywheel that attaches to the pump that the belt powers. My Acura is a 2001 so parts for it are not available in the area. They found what I needed up in Virginia and sent an employee to get the parts on their day off. After all of their time, effort and kind offers of help I just knew the bill was going to be huge. I was wrong, so wrong. The bill was exactly what they had quoted me. I cannot express how happy I am with the service and people of the Meineke shop. They were understanding, kind, honest and a pleasure to work with.

I was at the beach and my rotors were grinding, I had to try Meineke for the first time. $500 later I have new rotors and pads on my front brakes, and I was told that I was good to go until my next inspection (my car is due to be inspected 3 months from now). 1 week later Im back at Meineke with rotors grinding on my rear brakes, I call the Kill Devil Hills location and am told they dont know how that got by them - but that I can get a free oil change at their location. Thanks for sending me on a cross state drive with bad brakes, and thanks for delaying service to the point where I now need 2 MORE rotors. This location missed something or didnt even bother to check, and then offered next to nothing to make the situation right. Go somewhere else.
