I went on vacation in Avon (OBX) immediately after Hurricane Arthur. I had just leased a car from Audi and it wasnt even a week old when a bolt pierced the tire, most likely due to debris in the aftermath. Friends put on my spare, but I called Audi roadside assistance to suggest a repair place to take the car. They recommended All Car & Truck Repair, Roanoke Island, 1072 Highway 64, Manteo, NC. We wondered why they recommended a place that was over 60 miles away (since I was using a small spare), instead of places nearby in Buxton/Hatteras. Against the opinions of friends, I took it to All Car & Truck Repair, because of the Audi recommendation. As a woman, I am always weary that a mechanic will try to take advantage. I arrived, and within 2 minutes, I knew I was at the right place. The mechanic was talking to his customer as she was leaving. He was talking about wanting to win the lottery, and she said she would be sad because he would no longer work on her car if he won. He responded that he would never quit working on cars, even if he did win. Points were earned on that comment alone. The mechanical bay area was very clean, and the few people working there were nice and very professional, answering all of my questions. They patched my tire that my friends and I feared would be to large to patch, and got me back on the road in 30 minutes for $25.00!!! The tire has had no problems since. It was such a relief, and I would travel 60 miles any time to get service like that! Exceptional experience.. Thank you AC&TR, RI and thanks to Audi for the great recommendation. 5 STARS

This is the most rude business I have ever visited!! I called to get an appt to have my car inspected and was asked if I could have it there in 30 min. I got my car there in the 30 min. time frame only to be told that I had called 2 hours ago and that I was late.....I told him that I had just spoken to him and he had said for me to have my car there within 30 min. He all but called me a liar and took my keys angrily...I said I would take my car to someone else because I would not be treated like that. He said I was arguing with him and angrily gave me my keys and walked to the back of the shop. I went to my car feeling totally violated by this angry man! I checked my cell phone and found my initial call to set up the appt and it showed I had made the call 35 min. earlier. I had gotten to his shop in 25 minutes.....I went to the desk and asked his wife what their phone # was and had her verify when I made the call. She said her husband was very busy and was upset that a woman had not kept her appt and he thought it was me. NO EXCUSE!!! I was dumbfounded, I said I did not appreciate made out to be a liar and that if they were to busy for an inspection, all they had to say was that and I would not have brought my car to them.....The man/owner refused to talk to me and would not come back out..his wife would not apologize to me. My husband and I have both had work done at this shop previously to this experience but will NEVER go the them again!!!! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!!!!!

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with not only a mechanic but another person in general. On our way to the Outer banks for vacation our ball bearings on the car went bad. The car was shaking very badly. We found All Car & Truck Repair and were relieved to get some help on a Sunday. The first weird comment was made by the owner when he said. " Are you Republicans? Because I only serve Republicans on Sundays" We laughed and brushed it off. Later on the owner said that our tire was about to fall off and that it would be dangerous for us to drive any further. My husband asked the owner if he had competitive prices with the other mechanics in the area and the owner exploded! Yelling at us for even insinuating that he wouldnt give us the best price possible. (Dont most people call around to different mechanics trying to get the best deal?) He told us to "Get the Hell out or he would call the police!" I asked him what we had done to upset him and tried to reason with him by telling him that it would be dangerous for us to drive any further but he kept yelling and telling us to leave. There was another couple at the shop that couldnt believe what they were seeing and apologized to us. They said "If we werent already so strapped for time we would leave with you!" What a horrible horrible place!

I dont usually do reviews online but this one is an exception. On a weekend vacation with the family and got a tire blowout yesterday. Apprehensive of not knowing where to go and fear of getting ripped off, I searched online but got mixed reviews on a couple of Tire/Car repair shop. Not satisfied on my research, Ive asked the inn we were staying who they can recommend. Boy, they were right. All Car and Truck Repair in Manteo took care of me right from the beginning when I brought my vehicle this morning.Told Fred, the owner, what happened, understood my situation and worked on it right away. I even had the chance to get to know and meet his lovely family, Gwen and Jeff, who works in the shop as well. Excellent customer service, fair price and more importantly, knowing the person you are dealing with understands the situation you are in. This is the least I can do for them. Your service is like a hidden gem from out of towners like me but well known locally. If theres one car tire repair service you can trust, it is All Car and Truck. Thanks again and will definitely spread the word.

On my way to vacation in Rodanthe the week before 4th of July, busted a tire valve on my truck that left me with a flat just as I pulled into my destination hauling a camper. Tire side walls were a bit damaged in the ordeal, so needed a new tire. Called All Car and they sourced the exact tire (which was no longer produced by BF Goodrich) for my truck and had it overnighted. After a 30+ mile tow to All Car the next day, the minute my truck was unloaded from the tow hauler, the owners IMMEDIATELY dropped what work they were performing to process the paperwork and replace my truck tire so I didnt have to wait long and could be on my way to fun in the sun with no delay. They had the tire replaced and I was back on the road within about 30 minutes of arriving. The owners are fantastic people to do business with. There little side-kick Paisley will make sure you feel very welcome too. The price they charged me was very reasonable and anytime Im at the Outer Banks again and in need of tire service for my truck or camper, theyll be the only place Ill go.
