ONE OF A KIND EXPERIENCE!! Afroly is a salon where you will receive amazing hair care and leave feeling like FAMILY! I knew that Afroly was going to be different from the other salons that Ive been to from the moment I hit their website. Any salon that takes the extra step to get details on the exact type of service that youre looking for BEFORE you walk through the doors, is one that truly cares about its customers getting EXACTLY what they want! After I booked online, I received a personal phone call from one of the owners, going over my request and expectations for service. He was hilarious and informative at the same time. On the day of my appointment, I walked into the salon and was IMMEDIATELY greeted by every single person inside. That has NEVER happened to me before, at any salon… In any state that Ive ever been in! I was immediately introduced to Fran, Tina (no Turner), Miquelle, and Dominique. These ladies are bright, insightful, funny, and just a joy to be around. (Sometimes youll go into a salon and youre only greeted by YOUR stylist. NOT HERE! Everyone makes you feel like you belong) Not only were the ladies friendly and welcoming… They were also PREPARED! The hair colors that I previously specified wanting (in my consultation online and over the phone), were prepped as I walked through the door. A free (optional) consultation was given to me where I learned different techniques to care for my natural hair, as well as my upcoming braids. The staff at Afroly CARES about their clients receiving great service as well as maintaining healthy hair for life. When you go to the salon, feel free to leave your books and your headphones at home! Not only did they provide TV and movies to watch; but honestly, every single employee is engaging and funny in their own way that I could spend the entire day just talking to them. In less than an hour I felt right at home. I have never in life written a review (good or bad) that was this long. But great work needs to be acknowledged and celebrated. There is a GEM on Western Blvd and Im blessed to have stumbled across the name in my google search last week. Mark my words, Afroly is going to change the natural hair care industry over the next year and a half. THE STANDARD HAS BEEN RAISED AND RESET and natural hair gals like me now have a new place to call home❤️

5 Stars arent enough to rate my experience at Afroly. With the hustle and bustle of life, I wanted to wait until I had some quality time to write a thorough description regarding their care. Ladies, prepare to be blown away. Customer Service: Beginning with the first call, Sol was welcoming, professional, knowledgeable and invested in my inquiries. He took the time to listen to the style I was looking for, while also contributing perfect details and engaging questions toward my final decision. Ive corresponded with several salon representatives, but the level of excellence displayed by Afroly was commendable. *Bonus: Upon calling back with follow up questions a couple hours later, Sol said hello using my name. ** Their appointment system is also amazing! The Talented Ms. Ly: Now lets get to the lovely Ms. Ly!!!!! She is the sweetest, most passionate and gifted woman trailblazing the braiding industry. We all know the Triangle area is home to a plethora of braiding salons, but QUALITY CANT BE BOUGHT. Lys knowledge for hair and compassion for her clients are the reason I am up at 130am writing this review. Ly took her time while ensuring every strand of hair was in the right place. Her braiding technique is God sent. When they say "Not too tight, but just right," please believe it. My box braids were perfectly sized and did not stretch my hair nor give me bumps around my scalp. I can already tell Ill get great use and major smiles from my hair. Duration: While getting my braids I read, did some work, returned some phone calls and laughed!!. Ly and I watched two movies (one shall remain never seen again lol) and carried one of the most authentic and joyful conversations Ive experienced with a stranger in a while! Sol and Ly gave me EVERYTHING with their hair consultation regarding post care. It was more than wash, condition and air dry. It was ncredibly interactive. Final Thoughts: I am grateful to have found Afroly. I will be back for my touch up and then the next journey with you all to follow. I got my hair done yesterday, and my experience was amazing. Everyone was friendly, and very informative about how to take care of my natural hair (Ive had some damage do to perms & stylist from salons burning my hair) but I felt confident about myself and fixing my hair the more it was explained on how I can reverse the damage and continue the growth. 3 woman in total worked on my hair (wont say their names out of respect to other peoples privacy youll meet them when you go there), and Im guaranteeing you will not be stressed or in any type of pain when getting your hair braided. My braids feel very secure, but this is the first time ever for me getting my hair braided and its not tight at all or causing me to have serious headaches. I enjoyed the fact that I was talked to the whole entire time I was getting my hair braided, which really pulls you into a relaxed, welcomed, and family/friendly type of comfort zone lol I was laughing so much and enjoying myself that, time flew by so fast and my hair was done. If I could give more than 5 stars I would give way more! This has officially became the place I will go from now on to get my hair braided.

Let me tell yall...AfroLy African Hair Braiding Salon in Raleigh, NC is FANTASTIC! Words alone cannot and will not even begin to describe the service and warm, friendly atmosphere that this place provides. First off let me say everyone there is friendly and welcoming. It was my first time as a customer and I really felt as if I have been a customer for years. The hair consultation is very informative! Where else can you go and learn about the state of your hair as it presently is and ways to manage it or improve it? Nowhere that Ive been. At least until I went here. I got micro braids done yesterday. Yes, it took some time to get them but the whole experience was by far one that I would gadly repeat. One thing that they dont provide though is the excruciating pain that we all have felt when getting our braids done. I believe that is element that we can gladly go without. The method that they use will ensure that there is NO pain and that your edges WILL NOT get damaged. Dont take my word for it. Go and find out yourself. You will be amazed! As for everyone at AfroLy...you guys ROCKED it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I chose box braids, bra length, for my style. Ly was very nice, professional, she explained how to maintain the style during and even after. She was very professional, and most importantly my braids look amazing and they do NOT hurt, nor do I feel like my edges are being tugged on. She was very gentle with my natural hair, and answered all of my questions. She spoke to me in a professional and polite manner, and even asked if I minded, when she had to take a call, and speak in her native language, of course I did not mind. I will be back for a touch up and take down when it is time, I have found a stylist to continue my protective styling while I work towards my hair goal. PLEASE go here, you will not be disappointed! ** I never complete reviews, but this was definitely worth it!
