Please read the full review. Intrex has a fair selection of hard to find computer parts. In many cases the unique items such as converters (sata to ide for example) are competitively priced. They have a nice selection of computer cases as well. More common parts such as Motherboards, memory, and power supplies are way over priced. This brings me to my problem. The clearance table has what appears to be good deals on some new and some open box items. I bought a "new" ASUS motherboard on clearance which turned out to have a bios problem and wouldnt display video. I returned the card and they gave me another of the same boards from clearance. I bought one more of a different brand in case I ran into the same problem again. The problem was reported frequently on forum sites for that board. I spent a lot of time getting the next motherboard working. It had the same display problem and a USB problem. I was able to fix the display problem with a BIOS update but the USB issue remained. The second board I bought was a MSI and was DOA (dead) Intrex sells these with a 7 day DOA warranty but they also say no returns or exchanges. How can you have a warranty and no returns or exchanges. I figured must be to get my money back. This made sence to me since many open box items may be missing a part or have a minor defect that doesnt effect performance such as a scratch. When I went to return it they told me there was nothing they can do. The dead motherboard was clearly used after close inspection. It even had burnt leads going to the processor socket they looked to be caused by excessive heat paste used by the previous owner. They say they test these parts. If this is an indication of how well they test parts I wouldnt let them near my equipment. Finally I brought back the next 2 bad motherboards and the manager of Intrex said I couldnt have my money back. He said I can have another broken item from the clearance table in exchange. I mentioned the 7 day warranty and he mention the no returns or exchanges policy. Then he told me its "Buyer Beware". I asked him if he thinks he can sell known broken parts with a 7 day warranty and then not honor it. He told me again "buyer beware". He stated I can return it to the manufacturer for a replacement. For a retailer to sell known bad parts then tell the customer to get a warranty exchange seems like fraud to me. So my Intrex review is simple: "Buyer Beware" They said it, I didnt have to. By the way. I did get a new ASUS motherboard. Since I had already had the operating system set up while fighting the USB problem, I plugged it in, it automatically located and loaded the USB drivers and it works great.

I went to Intrex when my laptop shut down and would not turn back on. My laptop was under warranty and Intrex had great reviews, so I figured theyd be able to help me. The diagnostics fee was huge, I had to pay $140 upfront for diagnostics. It turned out that the motherboard needed to be replaced and I was told this would take a week or two, since they had to order in the parts. When they called me back after just 3 days, I was thrilled to pick up my laptop!! heres when the issues started: 1) when they "fixed" my laptop, they broke the keyboard, that cost me an extra $107, and they unapologetically told me that things like that happen.. these computers are very delicate. 2) my HP envy laptop is touch screen.. well, WAS touch screen. When I got home, I realized that the touch screen feature did not work anymore, I figured it was just turned off.. but its not even listed under the software now. no way to get it back. A few days after I get my laptop back, it broke again. They had failed to properly put the laptop back together properly and a screw had gotten loose, it was coming OPEN.. what a mess. I went back and they got it to work again. While I was there, I asked about the touch screen feature, and whether they could work on getting it back on there, they pretty much told me there was no way to know IF it worked properly before.. that they werent calling me a liar but theres no proof they messed that up and that it wasnt their problem. Anyway, I spent $600 out of my $700 warranty at this place. It was outrageously expensive and the repair guy was very unpleasant to work with, and surely unprofessional, and in the end, my nice touch screen computer isnt even touch screen anymore... save yourself some trouble and money and go somewhere else!

Ive been using Intrex for over 3 years now and frankly, I wouldnt go anywhere else. When I have a problem they are as knowledgeable and professional as can be. They are exceptionally quick at fixing problems and very affordable. My current computer was custom built by their team and it is the most resilient computer Ive had to date. I use my computer around 8 hours per day and push it to its limits constantly, but this computer is built to last and doesnt degrade in quality like my previous ones have. Their team is nothing but top tier professionals who are extremely kind and understanding employees when it comes to customer satisfaction. I never feel belittled or ignored when i enter this store. When i have questions that might sound ridiculous to a PC expert, they help me to understand the answer while not making me feel incompetent. If you end up going try and speak with their employee named Joe, he wont steer you wrong and you can expect nothing but the best quality and service out of him. Im so thankful to have found Intrex, because a lot of the other companies Ive been to in the past were only pretending to be half as good as this place truly is. You will not be disappointed if you end up taking your business to them, they will deliver and it will be above your expectations at a timely affordable rate. Take my word for it, there is simply not a better place to go in Raleigh than Intrex.

I have shopped here many times in the past and normally have a good experience which is the reason I am leaving 3 stars. But this past Sunday I did not have such a good experience. I went in to buy memory and an SSD to upgrade one of my work computers. Im not in the computer business, and I dont know all the lingo, but Im not stupid and I know enough to do what I needed. The guy behind the counter (not the long hair guy, but the taller one) was talking down to me asking me if I knew what I was talking about and that I should let someone who knows what they are doing work on my computer. Ive done what I was asking him about countless times and know what Im doing, all I was asking was a technical question. I felt he was very very rude. My wife who was also with me felt the same way. She said I did not word my question very well, but he still responded in a very rude way. I caused me to not buy what I wanted and left. I went to best buy instead. They did not talk down to me.
