Most people who have a good experience dont know theyre being lied to, and they dont often challenge the person who lied to them. Heres my experience. The owner made me feel uncomfortable. He told me about his history using hard drugs. I dont want to hear that. I wanted my brakes inspected and replaced. They quoted me incorrectly and replaced the brakes with high quality brakes. They squealed so I brought them back. They exchanged them for lesser quality brakes explaining how its "normal for brakes to squeal on cars all the time". My brakes still squealed. I brought it back and they tell me its the back brakes. Red Flag. Why didnt they tell me about the back brakes the first time I went there? They charged me 53 dollars for 26 dollars brakes. I took note of his biography on the wall and the letter he sent me saying I could come to him if there was a problem. So I did, I told him I was dissatisfied and he came up with lies about what brakes I had and the quality of them. I told him I feel Im being lied to and he got mad cussing and hung up on me. I Called him back to try to work things out but he immediately started talking over me. Then he cussed and hung up on me again. The owner had no interest in what I had to say, it was all about him, not the customer. The first time I questioned the price of the brakes he said "I dont care what prices you found on google, I can charge what I want" than he smiled and said "Believe me, I make money". This guy will lie to you, he is a liar, and he will rip you off and then try to speak a bunch of nonsense to confuse you and he sounds confident so most people probably dont challenge him. But go a head and challenge this guy and watch how he starts making up stories that dont make any sense at all. Do not go to Atlantic Car Care. If you had a good experience, you dont know you were lied to.

I brought my vehicle to Mike because I was having transmission problems. He had done some work for me before and I was generally satisfied by his service. I told him that I intended to sell the car soon and I need to get everything fixed. He checked everything out and found a couple other problems other than the transmission and quoted me about $2,500. I said it sounded expensive so he said he could do it for $2,200 but thats as low as he could go. Not much better, but I agreed. Its a transmission after all, and I knew it wouldnt be cheap. He calls me a couple days later, and lets me know my bill is over $2,500 dollars. OK? First red flag goes off. Just at this time I happen to get a letter from the DMV reminding me to get an inspection. I figured since Mike already had it Id just get him to do it while the car was there anyway. But they cant do an inspection. Why? Because my check engine light is still on. OK? Is the car not fixed? No, just the transmission is fixed. So when I told you that I intend to sell the car, did you think I could sell it with a check engine light on? Oh, and now its going to cost me even more money? Thanks Mike. Look, Mike is a nice guy and everyone over at Atlantic Car Care is very polite and friendly. But friendliness can only go far in automotive repair. I cant recommend this place to anyone because of how they handled this situation. Sorry guys, but you lost a repeat customer with this one.

My check engine light came on, so I took it to Auto Zone to get a free diagnosis. Within about 30 seconds, the man working there told me that I needed to replace my O2 sensor. So I called Mike at Atlantic and told him the problem. He said that he prefers to diagnose things himself and for me to bring the car in. I didnt have a problem with a second opinion, so I agreed. I arrived at my 8:00 am appointment. By 9:30, he finally brought the car into the bay. By 1:00 pm (5 hours later), he finally came to me and told me that he ran all the codes in his computer and could not find the problem. Then at 1:30, he came back out and told me that he thinks that it is indeed the O2 sensor. This guy is supposed to be a professional, yet he cant diagnose an O2 sensor? I dont understand this, since the kid still in high school at Auto Zone didnt seem to have a problem at all figuring it out. I finally got out of there at 2:30 with my new O2 sensor. It took 6 and a half hours and $315 for something that I could have done myself for $50 in about 15 minutes. Now, in all fairness, I must say that I brought my car in for a tune-up a few months before this, and I had great service that time. But after this latest experience, Im not so sure that I trust his ability or mechanical knowledge to fix my car.

Yes this place does good work and they are very nice but they are way overpriced...like for example I got a haed gasket job done then I had a all brake job done that they did for $1200 wow yes my car was runnin good afterwards but I couldve got the same treament other place for half the cost but none the less I went there again because my service engine light was on and they wanted $106 just to look at my car with them knowing I would have gotten it fixed..well thank god I pulled my car out of there and found a new place that I loveeeee its called blacks tires and they have a few locations in wilmington they are just as nice if not more do just as good of a job for half the price atlantic car care would charge...I was upset because Im a good customer and I felt ripped off constantly so I feel the need to say something about it maybe they felt they could do that to me because I am a young girl but I do know better! I cant believe they still wanted to charge me all that money just to hook their computer up to my car for a mintuteand after I had been such a good customer so needless to say I will not be going back and nor will any of my friends and I will keep informing people of this place and recomendding to where I go now such a better expierence and so much better on my bank account!

Jackie was excellent at explaining all the procedures as well as the results of the diagnosis in a way that I could well understand. They do a complimentary diagnosis of your entire car when you bring it in and are very honest about what is in serious need of repair and what other parts to be mindful of (though they may not need repair immediately). They provide many extra benefits to show their customers how much they appreciate them (such as ACDelco Consumer Insurance - providing up to 1 year or 12,000 miles of roadside assistance). This level of "care" I have never encountered before with an auto-mechanic. These guys seem very committed to doing a professional job on your car. Jackie was also very friendly with me and hospitable. Their repair prices are somewhat high, but it seems that you are paying more than just for a simple repair, you are paying for a team of highly skilled individuals who are committed to looking after your car and making sure everything is done RIGHT the first time. I give them five stars on professional quality, three stars on price-range, five stars on friendliness/dependability, and five stars on trust.
