I had a horrible, unprofessional incident that took place at the Kenwood location today. I was supposed to have an appointment at 1:30 pm at the skin spa. I made the appointment this past Thursday over the phone. When I got to the Kenwood location this afternoon, the receptionist out front (who was wonderful, btw) seemed confused about my appointment and I guess eventually found it in the system and led me to the back where I sat down to wait for my esthetician. Id never been to the skin spa before, but have had other services at the Kenwood location. (note: My first experience at the spa was terrible in that they lost my appointment and my nail technician who I guess had to squeeze me in was irritated and mean to me the whole time and, because Im an attorney, kept asking me for legal advice when Im supposed to be relaxing. But I figured everyone has a bad day.) The waiting room was empty except for some employees chit chatting. I sat down to wait. No one greeted me. I assumed that the front receptionist told them I had arrived. At about 1:40 (ten minutes late), the esthetician who I am guessing was mine came storming in and had a yelling match in front of me with the woman at the front desk of the skin spa area. It was about scheduling and how my appointment was going to make her late for the rest of her day. It got very heated and loud and I believe the male esthetician who witnessed it as well was uncomfortable so he left. The woman stormed away to the back, I believe, to prep for my appointment. She walked right past me and never said anything except to herself that that she was furious and her day was ruined. I went to the woman at the skin spa front desk and asked her if I should make an appointment and come back. With zero apology and without even looking at me, she just mumbled that no, it was fine. Then she left to go the back, where I am assuming she had another conversation with the woman who was supposed to do my appointment. I was humiliated and absolutely mortified. I got up and left, went to the receptionist, told her what happened (at this point, I was close to tears because I had already had a horrible day and this was supposed to cheer me up) and told her that there had been a fight and I was uncomfortable staying there. And then I left. I have not received a phone call, email or other apology. This spa is terrible.

Absolutely disgusted with this salon. I recently moved to Cincinnati from FL. I have gotten Keratin treatments for 7 years and was so excited to find a salon up here that does Keratin treatments. I got the treatment and followed the instructions as normal. When I went to wash my hair, it SMELLED SO BAD!! I cant even begin to describe the smell. I started freaking out! I called the salon and was told that someone would call me in the morning. WTF?!?!?! Ummm, there was something REALLY wrong with my hair and I was told to just wait till in the morning. I never got a call in the morning. I have to call them around 10 and the office manager said she has never heard of this happening. She got me in at 2 to figure out what was going on. When I got there at 2, the office manager had already gone home. Mum, again, you leave when something could be really wrong with my hair??? I was then told by the stylist that she didnt smell anything and that my hair looked healthy. She then went on to say that I didnt get a Keratin treatment, I got a smoothing treatment from CHI. YOU CAN BY CHI AT WALMART!!!!.I spent $340 after tip on a product you can buy off Amazon for $259.50! When I got very upset that I was told I was got Keratin and they gave me CHI, they didnt understand why I was making such a big deal out of it. Long story short, my hair is fried and they had their receptionist tell me that I would not be getting a refund because "CHI is just like Keratin"!!! They were too much of cowards to come and tell me themselves. Probably because they knew they messed up. I wasnt even asking for a full refund, I was just asking for a refund for the treatment. And its in NO WAY the same as Keratin! Very, very, very disappointed that I was treated as if I didnt like my color or something. If I could post a pic of my hair when I left I would. You are welcome to reach out to me and I will send you a picture!

I want to start off by saying that these ladies to a great job on hair, so this is not a review reflecting them by any means. However each time I go to check out after my appointment, I typically pay with my debit card. I paid the cost of my hair appointment + tip. They run it through, then somehow it "never takes", they are "having problems with their system" so they ask to run my card again. I hate when they ask to do that because every time they have ran it throuhh again, my bank account was charged. This past appointment 9/7/13 my card was charged three times...meaning $150 over charged. It made me pretty upset. The girls at the desk were apologetic when I called to notify them, however their manager doesnt work on weekends, so they couldnt even fix THEIR error until the following Monday. Their manager was the only one with the capability to void out transactions. I feel like the manager should have been apologetic that it happened and gave some kind of discount but nothing was offered. It didnt even hit my account the day she said it would and explained it could take THREE days!! Why is it that I have to be out money for an error on their part? Not to mention what if this were a credit card that had a smal max amount on it...they would have maxed it out, or what if I didnt have enough money in the bank and they over drew my account?? Pretty frustrating is all I have to say. Look out if they ask to run your cards again...best advice is to pay with cash.

As you walk into Identity, usually one of the staff will offer to hang your jacket/coat up for you, and ask if you want a drink (soda, water, coffee, etc.) while waiting. As you wait, there are newspapers and magazines to read, or you can hop on your phone and do some web surfing. Ive rarely ever experienced more than a five minute wait before being seen. Being a guy at a salon, the typical haircut includes sitting down and explaining what type of cut you want. The stylist trims a few areas on your hair. Then, you go back to a comfortable reclining seat that has a sink attached to the top where you rest your head. You then get a relaxing professional hair wash/massage. After that, you walk back over to the stylists seat and finish your haircut while discussing whatever youd like to talk about (personally, I like to vent some of my personal issues to the stylist, so its like getting your haircut and a mini therapy session all at once). Overall, excellent service by the staff, quality haircuts/styling and a positive atmosphere make this an enjoyable place to visit.
