I am a long time customer of van Michael. I have been going to Van Michael for over 20 years. First I would like to say that the stylists and colorists have always provided outstanding service as well as being courteous and professional. Also, let me add I am some who books appointments well in advance. I already have my appointments booked through January 2018. I went into the salon on 11/5/16 for my appointment with Dallas at 2:30pm. An appointment I have had booked since last year. I was told that I did not have an appointment and that Dallas had another client at that time. I should add that I had booked an appointment online for eyebrow wax the following week on 11/2/16. When you book online, you can see your future appointments. I checked at that time to confirm my appointment with Dallas and it said November 5, 2:30pm. So I know my appointment was there? No one from the salon contacted me? I told them that I have appointments every 2 weeks which I book well in advance and then asked to print ALL of my appointments. I made it very clear that I wanted an explanation about what happened. I was told that Angel, the manager, was looking into it. If she did not speak to me today, that she would call me and provide an explanation. Every time I looked in Angel’s direction, she completely avoided eye contact. She has not called me. They didn’t even let Dallas know I was there. They called Rayne, who was on her lunch break at the grocery store, to come back and do my hair. They did not tell her who it was or what type of color was needed. Lucky for me, I am a C1, so I am pretty easy to do. She got back at 2:50pm. She had an appointment at 3:30pm. She got my hair done in time. Again, the stylist and colorist are great. I would still like to know why my appointment was deleted for no reason.

Dear Van Michael: I am very disappointed with customer service that I received from your salon. I made an appointment for October 20, 2016 at 5:30 PM. The salon called me to inform me that my hairstylist was moving to the Buckhead Location. They were very pushy and tried to convince me to go to this location. I work one mile from the Sandy Springs location. Why would I want to drive to Buckhead in 5:00 traffic? So they rescheduled me for October 20, 2016 at 5:30 PM. Can you guess what happened two hours before my appointment? I can’t pick up the phone between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The salon called to cancel my appointment, and tried to reschedule for the second time. They are very unprofessional – I am the customer and my time is important. I don’t have time to be jerk around for their convenience. I don’t want to be rescheduled for 6:00 pm. I get off work at 4:00 PM. It should not be stressful to make a hair appointment. I am work fulltime and model part time. I can’t jerk my clients around this way. Do you like when your customers cancel or don’t show up for appointments? You state that Van Michael is “Experience the difference of a world-class salon. How can it be this when you can’t keep your customer’s appointments? My appointment should be free because this is the 3rd time this has happen at your salon with one of your great stylish. You tried to reschedule me with someone who didn’t have any appointments. How do you treat a client that doesn’t show up for an appointment? Beware!! They will cancel an appointment at the last minute. I had a previous appointment on Oct 20, and my stylist move to their Buckhead Location. They tried to make me go to this location, so They booked me with another stylist. She cancel on the same day as my appointment. They are so unprofessional.

I went to the Sandy Springs location today with the jitters. Ive been to plenty of high-end salons before, but Im often put off by the sometimes snooty attitudes I experiences at salons like Van Michael. However, I enjoyed my experience at Van Michael today so much, especially because of my stylist. If you go to this location, I highly recommend seeing Jamison. Hes not much of a talker (unless you know him well or ask about his life, which I enjoyed doing), but hes very focused and meticulous about his work, which I really appreciate. Im also so pleased with Jamison because I told him the length I desired, he suggested something a little different based on his knowledge of how my hair would sit depending on its length, and he had the confidence and self-assurance (that hair stylists need) to do what he thought was right for me. As an indecisive person, his confidence really made todays experience easy and relaxing. Plus his head massages during shampooing are amazing. Im so pleased! Choose Jamison at Van Michael Sandy Springs!

I had such a great experience getting my hair and makeup done at Van Michael Sandy Springs! It was so easy working with Kristina, the Bridal & Events Coordinator, to schedule my trial and wedding day appointments for myself and my bridal party. Avery did an amazing job with my hair! Although I only had a vague idea of what I wanted my hair to look like, she created a beautiful, intricate updo that stayed put all day and night. Laura also did an incredible job with my makeup! She gave me a beautiful, natural look that stayed on all day and night. My bridesmaids and family also loved their Van Michael stylists and were all happy with their hair and makeup. We came into the salon on the day of the wedding, and the staff was very kind and accommodating. They ensured that everything went smoothly for a stress-free wedding day. I recommend Van Michael Salon for brides and wedding parties!

I had the best cut from Sean on the new talent side. I have curly hair, on which in my experience, most stylists dont use enough product, causing frizz when I leave. Normally, I have to re-style my hair when I get home. I explained what I wanted and what I didnt like about my current cut. He knew exactly what I meant and my hair has never looked better. He explained how to style it myself and Ive been able to do so since. I will follow him to the Highlands when he is on the Van Michael floor for sure!

I have been a long time client, over 10 years first in Sandy Springs and also at the Avenue in Marietta. Good quality cuts, but often the wait is too long. Especially frustrating if you are promised a free bang trim "anytime", but need to wait beyond what is reasonably necessary for that, too...and your hair dresser will interrupt YOUR haircut multiple times to give a bang trim to others. I would expect better.

Got a great haircut from Lola at New Talents! Prices are very reasonable, especially for new talents, and overall I had a great experience. Everyone was very polite and professional, I loved my haircut, and would definitely recommend this place!
