I tried this salon after four...yes FOUR of my family members all tried it and loved it. My experience was nothing short of knock-your-socks-off-awesome. I have used and abused my hair (first off, its coarse, curly and long - then Ive bleached it multiple times - then didnt cut it for 6 months or more). So I was in a bit of a rough state when I visited this evening. Tonight, I saw Mandy, who also has [beautiful] curly hair. If you have curly hair you know the struggle of finding someone who can relate to your hair type AND can give you a rockin cut. She is all that AND a bag of tricks (I mean this literally....the girl has mad skills and a particularly mind blowing trick with a flat iron...I wont spoil the surprise for you. Just go in and ask her to do her wizard trick with the straightener.) She gave me THE best cut and my hair has not looked this good in a very long time. Also, she is everything you want [and more] from a stylist. She asks thoughtful questions, clearly knows her stuff, gives great, realistic tips to help you reach your goals, and has great suggestions without being pushy or "all-knowing"....if you know what I mean. In all seriousness shes pretty much the culmination of all of the best parts of everyone whose ever cut my hair wrapped into one perfect stylist. The decor was done really pretty, and the place has a quaint yet modern feel to it. The lather room is not just a place but an experience... I will definitely be back to see Mandy. And if you are reading this Mandy you best not ever go anywhere...Ive been searching for you for a long time!!! =)

I dont usually write a review, but just had to share what a wonderful experience I had. The location is very easy to find and I was immediately impressed when I walked in the door. Very trendy and upbeat! They offered several options for a beverage and I loved my fancy water in a glass bottle! My appointment was booked with Alyssa and I was very happy with my experience from beginning to end. She was very thorough in the consultation, and while I am very picky about my hair, I felt very comfortable about her recommendations. After my full highlight and lowlight, I got to enjoy a relaxing time in the "Lather Lounge" The scalp massage was amazing all on its own, but I was also pampered with a hot towel, hand and arm massage and I also received a free deep conditioning treatment since this was my first visit. I loved my fresh new cut and Alyssa did a great job styling me for the day. She shared the products that she used so I could duplicate the style at home, which is very important to me. I would highly recommend this salon, and would definitely recommend Alyssa. Her confidence mixed with being a total sweetheart made this a very positive experience!

My first visit to the Lunatic Fringe was supposed to be my last- a one time treat to myself, I suppose. Yeah, that didnt happen. Ive been back again since, and Ill go again! Walking in, youre offered a drink- I always get water because it comes in beautiful glass bottles (which of course you take home with you). I got a complimentary reconstructive hair treatment as a first time guest, so Paris (my stylist) took me into the relaxing wash lounge. This dimly lit lounge smells, looks, and sounds amazing. There were hot towels, as well as scalp and hand massages! I felt really emboldened by the air of competence to try something new for my hair, so I got my first dye job, going from dark blonde to red. A week later, Paris called to make sure that I was still satisfied with my cut and color. The last time I went, I got red-to-blonde ombre (again, done by Paris). Its a really nice family environment, I attended a hair, beauty and fashion event they hosted. I learned a lot and had a really nice time- there were nice gift bags for guests, and I was able to bring my sister. Lunatic Fringe is a lovely salon filled with lovely people!

This a friendly place, the service is great but this girl does not how to do a haircut, I showed her a picture and a the length I wanted and detail on that picture, which she didnt look at it well, I showed it to her twice, talk about it before and after the shampoo and stuff, she gave a haircut that didnt even look like the picture the cut was so simple that she didnt had to do alot because my hair was already in that lenght,except a lil trim and add a layer, but she gave me a bob, that it look like a cut from a cheap place from great clips or somewhere, it was horrible, there wasnt any design on the side except she made choppy on the back which the layer wasnt even supposed to be that short, its horrible haircut, it was uneven,she made everything choppy, this stylist didnt listen very well, no eye contacts were made and I dont think she should be cutting in a place like this, not to be mean but people need to be aware of this stylist kristina. REVIEW UPDATE!! LIZ IS AMAZING!!! PERFECT CUT WIFE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER!!

My husband and I recently relocated to the Cincinnati area and one of the hardest things for me when we move (often) is to find a salon that I feel comfortable and confident going to. I had found Lunatic Fringe in a search and the reviews seemed like it would be some place I would be comfortable, would embrace my desire to be creative and innovative with my hair style && where I would enjoy the experience. I called and made an appointment with Katie and they paired me perfectly because we hit it off great! I loved her honesty, and really felt that she was doing what was in the best interest for the health of my hair. The salon is fun, and clean & I love that Katie saw my service all the way through and I wasnt handed off to someone else for each part of my treatment. Im so glad I made this choice & will continue to have a standing appointment at this location!

Went there twice, had to have my color redone once. This place is PRICEY. I expect, that for the amount of money that I had paid, I would not have had to come back and have the color redone. Throughout both visits (with Jessica) I was bombarded by product information in hopes of me spending MORE money. It made me feel uncomfortable b/c I was already paying them a hefty fee to do my hair and I wasnt about to buy anything else. Mandy redid my color and I did take my girls to her once. She did a good job but it wasnt enough to counterbalance the high prices. I found another salon that I like a lot better (and has MUCH better prices!). In short, VERY pricey, got my color right 50% of the time, and they try to up sell you at every turn. There are better out there.

I just moved here from California and was worried I wouldnt be able to find a salon that would be able to give me the cutting edge style I was looking for (an undercut with geometric designs shaved into it) but lo and behold! Lunatic Fringe is here to save my day! My Stylist Whitney and she was a treat! She gave me not only the most amazing haircut, she also waxed my eyebrows for me (my first time ever!) and I hardly felt a thing! Also, dont cheat yourself, treat yourself and have them give you a wash! they not only massage your head and neck, but they also give you a great hand and arm massage. Seriously, I am so excited to have a place that gives me my California style just a few miles away from my new home. Thank you, Lunatic Fringe!
